Jo Ella Dodson Rackley - Passed from this life June 26, 2008, at her home in Alton, Mo., at the age of 77. She was born March 4, 1931, in Couch, Mo., to her parents, Rev. Clarence and Berlie (Hall) Dodson. On Oct. 31, 1953, she was united in marriage to James W. Rackley in Hernando, Miss., and to this union five children were born. Jo Ella is survived by her husband, James, of the home; five children, Janet Rackley of West Plains, Patti Collins and husband Ted, Mike Rackley and wife Angie, and Mark Rackley and wife Kristie, all of Alton, and Nancy Rackley Pinckney and husband Kevin, Springfield, Mo.; nine grandchildren, JR Bennett II, Greg Rackley, Brad Rackley, Amanda Collins, Seth Collins, Lindsey Ruch, Evan Ruch and Hope Rackley, Derek Rackley; one great granddaughter, Shaylee Rackley; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Carl, Junior, James and Densel. Jo Ella was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and daughter. She was a longtime member of the Alton Freewill Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 29, 2008, at the Alton Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Charles Trantham officiating, with burial following in the Hickory Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2008, at the Clary Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of the Clary Funeral Home of Alton, Mo. The family extends their sincerest thanks to the staff of Riverways Hospice for the compassionate care provided during their mother’s illness. Lowell Leslie 'Cotton' Rader - Age 81, West Plains - Died at 5:45 pm, Sunday, February 19, 1989 in Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains, Missouri. Mr. Rader was born June 24, 1907 at Eminence, Missouri the son of the late E. M. (Sam) and Ada Pummill Rader. He received his education in the schools of Eminence, Missouri and the state of Delaware, and on May 30, 1934 was married at Eminence, Missouri to Lydia Florence Eddings. Mr. Rader was a longtime electrical contractor and founded Rader, Inc. of West Plains, and was a retired farmer having farmed in the West Plains area for many years. He is survived by his wife, Lydia Rader, of the family home, six children, Dr. Benjamin E. Rader and wife, Barbara, Lincoln, Nebraska, E.M. 'Mike' Rader and wife, Marge, West Plains, Missouri, Leslie E. Rader, of the family home; Howard S. Rader and wife, Linnie, Springfield, Missouri, Ada F. Cochran and husband, Mike, West Plains, Missouri and Martha 'Alice' Smith and husband, Danny L., West Plains, Missouri; nine grandhcildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Hulbert Rader and E. Merle Rader, both of Eminence; two sisters, Audrey Herren, Marshfield, Missouri and Elsie Quisenberry, Little Rock, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Rader is preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, Tina Rader, one brother, Gilbert Rader, Sr., and one sister, Velma Loyd. He was of the Baptist faith and was a Charter member of the Berean Baptist Church of West Plains. Funeral services for Lowell Leslie (Cotton) Rader will be held at 1 pm, Wednesday, February 22, 1989 in the Rose Chapel of the Robertson-Drago Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Arnold officiating with interment in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Michael Lynn Ralston - Age 57, West Plains MO - Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, with Pastor Edward Casey officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains. He was born the son of Darlene Davis Ralston and the late Burton Ralston on Feb. 27, 1950, in Alton, Mo., and died Aug. 14, 2007, in West Plains, Mo. He is survived by his mother, Darlene Davis Ralston, of the family home, West Plains; seven aunts and uncles, Ted and Elsie Beck, West Plains, Phil and Linda Davis, West Plains, Bob and Donna Davis, Sullivan, Mo., Freda Davis, Alton, Mo., Dorothy Hamp, state of California, Jerry and June Ralston, Springfield, Mo., and Joe Howard and Carol Ralston, state of New Hampshire; and a host of cousins, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Burton Ralston; his grandparents, Leon and Lennie Ralston, and Frank and Fronia Davis. He graduated from Elias Michael School in St. Louis, Mo. He had attended the United Baptist Church of Alton, Mo., and was a member of the Physically Handicapped Bowling Association in St. Louis, where he won many trophies. He loved singing and flying. He always had a smile, and loved and lived life to its fullest, despite the body he was confined to. His love and smile will forever be remembered. VIOLET MAE PITTMAN RAMSEY - Oct. 8, 1922, Chico Butte Co CA - Dec. 13, 2006, West Plains Howell Co MO - Daughter of Walter Pittman & Rita Wilson. Married Newton C. Ramsey Jun. 25, 1942 at Red Bluff CA. Member of 4-Square Church in California. Played country-western music with her husband. Performed with Box Car Willie, Jim Reeves, Conway Twitty and at assorted rodeos at Mount Lassen Lodge. She was a song writer and recorded several records. She was the mother of 10 children: Diane Rackley, Donna Mae Hall, Velma Anne Deatherage, Raymond Boyd, Robert Edward, Gary B., and Jerry Ramsey, Laura Ellen Smith, Sharon Marie Roland, Charles Newton Ramsey and Don Newton Ramsey. She was the sister of Raymond Lewis, Elza Moore, Florabell, Grace Carey, Richard Leroy, Verda Alberta Johnson, Daniel James and John Harold Pittman. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains.

Glen Eugene 'Gene' Randall - Age 104, passed away at his home Tuesday, March 11, 2008. Glen was born September 22, 1903 to Leander and Polly (Alley) Randall on a farm near Summersville MO. He married Mary Alice Hill June 16, 1949. She died November 30, 1991. He married Wanda Mirts January 19, 1999. She survives at the home. He attended Oak Hill and Helms one room schools and Summersville High School. He then went to Springfield Teachers College, now MSU. His majors were Business Administration, Liquidation, Equity, Real Estate, Stocks, Bonds and a course in surveying. Glen worked his way through college as a bus boy at the Mulebock Restaurant & Hotel and working at a filling station and washing trucks for the Colonial Bread Company. He moved to Kansas City in the early 30’s and worked for Sower’s Window and Door Company. He soon founded his own company, 'Central Sash & Door,' manufacturing door and windows and ammunition boxes for Lake City Arsenal. He was a very successful business man and investor in the stock market. He and his wife, Mary, traveled throughout the U.S. Their favorite was Alaska, as they loved nature. They also enjoyed skiing and snowmobiling in Colorado. He skied past the age of 90. He loved photography and took pictures of all their vacations. He also owned a Republic Sea Plane and flew to Canada and fished many lakes there. He was a life member of DeMolay, one of its first members. He said, 'If every young man joined the DeMolay, they would get started on the right track in life.' He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was saved as a boy and was a member of the Summersville Baptist Church since an early age, but had been attending Platte Woods Methodist Church. His motto: 'Treat every human being with respect regardless of creed or color.' He has been supporting The College of the Ozarks for many years and has left his estate to the college to help students who would not be able to get an education, but are deserving. He always tried to help others rather than himself. His long life could be contributed to: healthy diet, positive attitude, and keeping your body and mind active. He is survived by his wife, Wanda, and her family, several nephews and nieces, and friends and wonderful neighbors that are like family to him. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Claud, Wade and sisters, Stella, Pearl, Bonnie and infant sister, Edna. At his request, he will be cremated; no visitation, no funeral. Howard Wayne Range - Son of Frank R. and Marion Capshaw Range, was born July 6, 1919, in Willow Springs, Mo., and died July 12, 2007, at his home in Thayer, Mo., at the age of 88 years and 6 days. He was united in marriage July 11, 1946, in West Plains, Mo., to Virginia Vee “Toots” Pitchford. He is survived by one daughter, Terry Lynn Range, Thayer; three nieces, Janice Norris, Tulsa, Okla., Patti Richey, Broken Arrow, Okla., Edie Hanes, Claremore, Okla.; one nephew, Bud Adams, Thayer; six great-nephews; three great-nieces; and three great-great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Francis Cathcart, Marvel Adams and Chloe Martin; his in-laws, Newt and Edith H. Pitchford; five brothers-in-law, Jim Cathcart, Chester Adams, Lee “Doc” Martin, John Pitchford and Robert Pitchford; and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Humphreys Pitchford and Imogene Smith Pitchford. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Thayer since 1934. After graduating from Thayer High School in 1938, Howard pitched for a New York Giants baseball farm team. He later joined the Frisco railroad, where he served for 38 years, interrupted during World War II by service to his country. Howard was a sergeant in the U.S. Army, and served with Co. C713 Railroad Battalion under General George Patton. He served in North Africa, France, Italy and Germany, earning six battle stars. Howard’s passion throughout his life was the care and keeping of cattle and horses. He was a valued mentor and teacher to a very large farming community. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2007, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel with Nathan Cates officiating. Burial was in Thayer Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., of Thayer.

Anita L. Bennett Reavis - Age 71, West Plains MO - Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, 2008, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, with the Reverend Bob Arnold officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains. She was born the daughter of the late Boyd Bennett and Mary Ruth Stover Bennett, on March 26, 1937, in Peace Valley, Mo., and died Nov. 3, 2008, in Springfield, Mo. She was united in marriage Aug. 31, 1958, in Peace Valley, Mo., to Leonard W. Reavis.  She is survived by her husband, Leonard W. Reavis, of the home, West Plains, Mo.; one son, Gary D. Reavis and wife, Amy, West Plains, Mo.; one sister, Doris Sharp, Springfield, Mo.; two grandchildren, Tyler and Austin Reavis, West Plains, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kent Reavis; and four brothers, Junior, Paul, Max and Dale Bennett. She attended the First General Baptist Church in West Plains. She graduated from West Plains High School, later attended Draughn’s Business College. She was a Sunday School teacher for over 24 years, was a volunteer at Ozarks Medical Center for 10 years, and a member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary. She loved to sing, and had been the song leader at her church for many years. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon’s and can be left at the funeral home. Family visitation will be 6 to 7 pm Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2008. Burial will be in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, Howell County, Mo., under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains. 

Emma Elila Redburn - Age 79, West Plains. Died Wednesday, March 22, 2006. Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, April 2, at Victoria Mission Church. Arrangements were made by Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. At the Oak Lawn Cemetery is her joint headstone with her husband, Lloyd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Victoria Mission Church Lloyd and Elila Redburn Memorial Music Fund.

ROBERT RAYMOND REDLICH - RAE 'ESTHER' COOPER REDLICH - Robert R. Redlich - Born February 9, 1926, at Washington, D.C., the son of George Herman Redlich and Mazie Lorena (Moore) Redlich. He passed away April 24, 2008, at Cox Health South, Springfield, MO, surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 82 years.  Lavania Rae 'Esther' Cooper Redlich - Born November 1, 1935, at Pine Bluff, WY the daughter of Raymond Melvin Cooper and Anna Lea (Rockwell) Cooper. She passed away April 30, 2008, at Cox Health South after a short illness, surrounded by her loved ones. She lived 72 years sharing and spreading her love. Robert served in the United States Marine Corps from October 19, 1943, until he was honorably discharged on February 29, 1945. Robert served in the Central Pacific area during World War II. Robert was a Purple Heart recipient for being wounded in action on August 15, 1944, in the Asiatic Pacific area. He was recognized for, 'gallant service rendered to our beloved country,' and commended as being a fine example of an American. A credit to his country. Robert and Rae were united in marriage on December 13, 1979, at Tucson, AZ. They met as neighbors at Mountain View, MO in 1945. Rae has been known to say that she loved him even then as a young girl. Their lives led them in separate directions but brought them back together to share almost 30 years of happiness. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Edward L. Redlich. Rae was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, and one brother Billy Ray Cooper. They are survived by their children DiAnna Brothers and husband Roger of Dix, NE and Mike Redlich and wife Kim of Ellington, MO; Robert's brother George H. Redlich, Jr. and wife Patsy of Mountain View, MO: Rae's four sisters: Patricia A. Smith of Springfield, MO; Janet Elam and husband Bob of Mountain View, MO; Cora Lea Taylor of St. Helena, SC; Mary Lou Lemond and husband Richard of Lafayette, LA and one brother James Gatchel and wife Susie of Forest City, AR. Four grandchildren: Tad Rezek and wife Paula of Lincoln, NE; Tony Rezek and wife Stacy of Olathe, KS; Caroline Olson and Michael 'Cooper' Redlich of Ellington, MO. Five great-grandchildren: Dustin, Colton and Esten Rezek of Lincoln, Ne; and Evan and Quin Rezek of Olathe, KS. And many much-loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Rae and Robert owned and operated R & R Art Supply in Mountain View for several years. Robert was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans; Blinded Veterans Association and V.F.W. Post 3009 Mountain View. Rae was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mountain View, MO. Robert and Rae were both members of the Mountain View Chamber of Commerce and the Art Council. Donations in memory may be made to Disabled American Veterans or Blinded Veterans Association. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 3, 2008, at First Baptist Church at Mountain View, MO with Rev. James McCullan officiating. The couple was buried together at Mountain View Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Mountain View, MO.

Blanche Mildred REBO Cook Reed - Born February 4, 1913 at Fort Madison, IA the daughter of John Wilson Rebo and Mildred Emily (Betzhold). She passed away April 27, 2008 at Springfield, MO at the age of 95 years. She was united in marriage to Virgil Gerald Cook on March 26, 1931 at Pekin, IL and to this union six children were born. He preceded her in death on December 13, 1986. She later married Marvin Joseph Reed on February 5, 1991 at Poplar Bluff, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Mildred Rebo; her husbands Virgil Cook and Marvin Reed; 2 sons Virgil G. Cook, Jr. and R.J. Cook; two daughters Vera J. Leonard and Joyce Ann Barshears; 2 brothers John Rebo and Robert Rebo; and 1 sister Juanita Law. She is survived by her sons Brent Cook and wife Kathy of Mountain Home, AR, and David Cook and wife Pat of Summersville, MO; one sister-in-law Frances Rebo of Willow Springs, MO; several nieces and nephews; 20 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 22 great-great grandchildren. Blanche and her husband Virgil owned and operated Cook's Ceramic's for several years. She enjoyed giving classes at her ceramic shop and planting flowers. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

George Dwayne Reese - Born on Nov. 20, 1955, in Mtn. View, Mo., to Doris and Roy Reese. He departed this life Sept. 8, 2008. George began his marital union of 34 years to Debra Atnip on June 8, 1974. Three children, Adam, Chad and Josh, were their branches to the strong and rooted Reese family tree. George was a devoted father, son, brother and uncle. He exemplified through his actions that honesty, diligence, fortitude and love were the initial steps on the journey to a successful joy-filled life. He served as a shining example of care in many facets, from baseball coach to school board member, to the care that he took for his farm and cattle. But most importantly, he was the best friend, soul mate, and love of the life of his wife, Debbie. Preceding him in Glory are his mother, Doris, and brother, Lonnie. George is survived by his wife, Debra, Birch Tree; father, Roy and his wife, Maybelle, Birch Tree; three sons, Adam and Vanessa, Chad and Chi-Chi, and Josh, all of Kansas City; brothers, Bill, Chillicothe, Mo., and Kenneth and Blanche of Birch Tree; two grandchildren, Aiden and Scarlet; and the many nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends who brought joy to his life. Our hearts will always feel a loss of his love, directions and the humor he brought to our lives, but we will someday feel his loving arms around us again. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at First Christian Church, Mtn. View, with Pastor Brian Ingalls officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Teresita, Mo., under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mtn. View.

JAMES LOW REESE - Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for James Low Reese, 76, with Rev. Billy Cartwright officiating. Burial was in the Moten Cemetery under the direction of the Bryson Funeral Home of Mammoth Spring. James Low Reese, sone of the late John and Fannie Price Reese was born April 17, 1886 and departed this life at West Plains, Mo. August 3, 1962 at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 16 days. He was married to Lucy Bennett May 5, 1922 and to this union two children were born. His wife preceded him in death. He is survived by one daughter Mrs. Mae Butler, of Blytheville, Arkansas and one son, J.B. Reese of San Diego, California, besides ten grandchildren. Norabelle Souder Reeves - Age 78 - Passed away quietly on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, while at Kabul Nursing Home, in Cabool, Missouri.  Born on Feb. 4, 1930, in Souder, Mo., to Fred and Beulah Souder. Mrs. Reeves was a graduate of Norwood High School in Norwood, Mo.  After high school, she moved to California where she lived for many years before returning to Missouri in the early 1980s.  Norabelle had a strong belief in the Lord.  She enjoyed life, talking to friends, and telling a good clean joke.  She enjoyed singing, music and a good meal out at a restaurant.  She was described by her family as a strong woman with a positive attitude. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren, and will be missed greatly by them and all who knew her. Mrs. Reeves was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Beulah Souder, her sister Sibyl Yancy, and her brothers Clark, Hiram, and Elmer Souder. She is survived by her two children, Fred Reeves of Singapore and Colleen Yamamoto and her husband Mark of Orland, Fla.  She is further survived by her grandchildren, Rachel Reeves of Nevada; Mark Yamamoto of Los Angeles, Calif.; and Jenny Yamamoto of Layton, Utah.  Great-grandchildren Braden and Taylor Yamamoto also survive. Funeral services were on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, at the Willow Funeral Home.  Burial followed Saturday’s service at Souder Cemetery in Souder, Mo. 

Sarah Lee Pierce Reeves - Age 77, Mountain View MO - Passed away Monday, Sept. 8, 2008, in Mountain View Healthcare. She was born Aug. 12, 1931, in Thomasville, Mo., the daughter of Howard Otto and Melinda Ledbetter Pierce. Sarah married Eldie Marion “Red” Reeves on Aug. 23, 1948, in Eminence, Mo. To this union, three children were born, Patti, Janet and Larry. Sarah loved being a mother. Soon after marriage, “Red” and Sarah relocated to Farmington, Mo., and started their family. They then moved to Flat River, where she attended PTA meetings, was a Girl Scout leader, and taught Sunday school at the Freewill Baptist Church. In 1963, “Red” and Sarah moved to O’Fallon, Mo., in St. Charles County. While “Red” began working at McDonnell of St. Louis, Sarah continued to be supportive of her children and husband. The joys of motherhood continued, as they added a son to their family. “Red” and Sarah loved square dancing. Sarah loved making their costumes, as well as sewing for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, baking, camping, and family gatherings. When “Red” retired in 1989, they returned to the Ozarks, the land they loved, living in Eminence. Sarah stayed very busy volunteering at the senior citizens center and raising funds for several of their needs. She was also involved with the Heart Health Coalition and Air Evac. After moving to Mountain View in 2002, Sarah continued her efforts with the Mountain View Senior Citizens and has collected “truckloads” of metal tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Sarah loved life and people. She loved being in the presence of her family. She has now lost her battle with cancer and will be missed by many family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Virginia Chilton. Survivors include her husband, Eldie M. “Red” Reeves; two daughters, Patti Scronce and husband, Gary, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Janet Hohn and husband, Bill, of Mountain Home, Ark.; one son, Larry Reeves and wife, Lisa, of Fordland, Mo.; six sisters, Erma Ramsey of Black Canyon Village, Ariz. Betty Rickus, Baxter, Tenn., Opal Routh of Birch Tree, Mo., Margie Bradshaw of Licking, Mo., Wanda Pierce of Meriden, Kan., and Janice Hendrix of Nashville, Tenn.; and one brother, William Pierce of Birch Tree, Mo.; seven grandchildren and five grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, in Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, also in Yarber Mortuary, with Brother Otto Foust officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mountain View. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mountain View Healthcare “Gazebo Fund.”

Barbara Jeanette Murstaffa Remington - Born Oct. 30, 1936, at Battle Creek, Mich., the daughter of Abraham and Bessie Murstaffa. She died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Mo. The family later moved to Prairie Grove, Ark., and she attended Prairie Grove schools, graduating from Prairie Grove High School in 1954. She married her husband, Phillip Cole and to this union, three children were born, Phillip Cole Jr., Paula Sullens and Beth Henning. She married her husband of 44 years, Elton Remington, on July 4, 1964, at Stillwell, Okla. She lived most of her life in northwest Arkansas until she and Elton moved to Alabama in 1984, then to Dahlonega, Ga., in 1991. They moved to Elk Creek, Mo., in September 2006 and Barbara later moved to Kabul Nursing Home in April 2008. Growing up, Barbara attended the First Christian Church in Prairie Grove, Ark., where she was still a member. One of the greatest joys in her life was caring for three of her grandsons as they were growing up – John, Josh and Ryan Sullens. She also enjoyed staying in touch with her classmates from Prairie Grove High School. She is preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Phillip Cole. She is survived by her husband, Elton, of Elk Creek, Mo.; a son, Phillip Cole Jr. of Springfield; and two daughters, Paula Sullens and husband, David, of Dahlonega, Ga., and Beth Henning of Farmington, Ark. She is further survived by her grandchildren Shane Payton of California; John, Josh and Ryan Sullens of Dahlonega, Ga.; and Kimberly Oxford and Andy Henning of Farmington, Ark.; as well as great-granddaughter Priscilla Sullens of Dahlonega, Ga. She also is survived by one aunt, Pauline Gullick of Commerce, Okla., and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and one great-nephew. Father James L. Reynolds - Age 63, West Plains MO - A priest of the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau - Funeral services were held Monday, June 9, 2008, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Father Reynolds died 12:12 p.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at his home of complications from cancer. He was born April 11, 1945, in Vicksburg, Miss., to Katie Lucille Rogers Reynolds. Father Reynolds attended St. Aloysius High School in Vicksburg, Miss., graduating in May 1963. He graduated from Mississippi State University in 1966 with a bachelor of science degree in mathematics and in 1967 with a master of science degree in mathematics, and from the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, Ohio, in April 1971. Father Reynolds was ordained to the priesthood April 3, 1971, for the Diocese of Natchez-Jackson, Miss., by Archbishop Luigi Raimondi, Apostolic Delegate to the United States. Father Reynolds graduated from Memphis State University in May 1974 with a master of science degree in computer science. He was incardinated into the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Giradeau November 21, 1977. Father Reynolds served as associate pastor at two parishes in Mississippi before coming to the Springfield-Cape Girardeau Diocese. He served as chaplain at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield and as chaplain, teacher and principal at Springfield Catholic High School. He served as moderator of DCCW Region II and Family Life Director for Region VII. Father Reynolds also served in many parishes, including Sacred Heart in Verona, Sacred Heart in Willow Springs, St. Joseph in White Church, St. Denis in Benton, St. Lawrence in New Hamburg, St. Eustachius in Portageville, St. Ambrose in Chaffee, St. Susanne in Mt. Vernon, St. Patrick in Greenfield, St. Henry in Charleston, St. Joseph in Billings, St. Cecilia in Kennett and St. Mary in Lamar. He has served as pastor at St. Mary in West Plains and Sacred Heart in Thayer since August of 2004. He will be remembered by the many friends he made across the Diocese where he has served. He also is survived by Alick, his Sheltie. His mother and step-father, William Thompson, precede him in death. Interment was in the Resurrection Cemetery, Springfield, Mo.

Bessie Lee eagan RichardsoN - Born July 28, 1915 at Montier, MO the daughter of A.W. Eagan and Minnie E. (Bradley) Eagan. She passed away May 22, 2007 at the James River Care Center in Springfield, MO at the age of 91 years. She was united in marriage to Moses Ezekiel Richardson on January 7, 1932 at Salem, AR. To this union, two children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents, A.W. and Minnie Eagan; her husband, Moses Richardson; and three sisters, Ollie Eagan, Ruth McVicker, and Opal Robinson. She is survived by one son, Wayne William Richardson, and wife, Arden, Dallas, TX; one daughter, Wilma Koch, and husband, Robert, Springfield, MO; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. Bessie lived in the Montier area for most of her life where she raised her children. In the 1940's, during WWII, she and her family moved to Indiana where she and her husband, Moses, worked at an ammunition plant for over a year before returning to the Montier area. In the early 60's, Bessie and Moses moved to Oregon where they lived for a couple of years before returning back to the Montier area. Bessie loved her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She loved to travel to Iowa to visit with her daughter. In later years, she and Moses spent time in Texas where their son lived. During that time, she was able to spend time with her grandchildren. She loved to do needlework and embroidery. Bessie was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy and attended services at Montier, Mountain View, and Birch Tree.

Dorothy Louise Richardson - Age 80, West Plains MO - Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mrs. Richardson died 10:05 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, in Ozarks Medical Center. She was born March 20, 1927, in Dora, Mo., to Samuel and Molly Bennett Bailey. On Sept. 4, 1993, she was married at West Plains, Mo., to James Richardson. Mrs. Richardson was a member of the Pomona Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, James Richardson, of the family home; five children, Roberta Shields, husband, Jerry, Kansas City, Mo., Shirley Lannan, Independence, Mo., Darrell Richardson, wife, Brenda, Cord, Ark., Larry Richardson, wife, Cynthia, Rockford, Ill., and Robert Richardson, wife, Christy, Hollister, Mo.; daughter-in-law, Carmelita “Chris” Campbell, Camden, Tenn.; 24 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents; first husband; one son, James Campbell; and three brothers precede her in death. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Cumberland Cemetery, Pineville, Ark.

James Richardson - Age 61, Hitchcock TX - Funeral services were held Saturday, June 28, 2008, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Richardson died 4 p.m., Friday, June 20, 2008, at the Mainland Medical Center, Texas City, Texas. He was born Feb. 12, 1947, in Pottersville, Mo., to James Cecil and Bertha Lou Collins Richardson. He received his education in the schools of Bakersfield, Mo. and on Jan. 19, 1967, was married at West Plains, Mo., to Anita Moss. Mr. Richardson was a member of the National Rifle Association, enjoyed making a garden, playing music and wrote several songs and poems. Mr. Richardson loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Anita Richardson, of the family home; four children, Chuck Richardson and wife, Jennie, Brian Richardson and wife, Nora, Richie Richardson and wife, Toni, and Melissa Naron and husband, Art, all of the state of Texas; 12 grandchildren; five brothers, Charles Richardson and wife, Phyllis, Billy Richardson, Doyle Richardson and wife, Joan, Jerry Richardson and wife, Vickey, and Gary Richardson and wife, Janet; two sisters, Sherry Pemberton and husband, Rocky and Terry Collins and husband, Morgan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Gene Richman - Age 79, West Plains MO - Memorial services were held Tuesday, Sept.16, 2008 in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Richman died 10:39 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at his home. He was born Feb. 18, 1929, in Willow Springs, Mo., to Volney Bert and Mable Mitchell Richman. He attended Southwest Missouri State where he played football and on Sept. 18, 1949, was married at West Plains, Mo., to Alva Jean Mullins. Before his retirement, Mr. Richman was owner and operator of Richard Oil Company and was a former president of Missouri Oil Jobbers Association. He was a Thirty-third Degree Mason, was a 50-year member of the Mt. Zion Lodge AF & AM #327, and was a member of the Abou Ben Shrine AAONMS, Springfield, Mo. Mr. Richman served on the West Plains R-7 School Board, served six years on the West Plains Memorial Hospital Board of Directors, helped organize and coach the American Legion Baseball team for several years and helped organize and establish the South Central Rehabilitation Center in West Plains. He was a member of Gideon's International and was a member of the First Christian Church of West Plains for more than 60 years where he served as deacon, elder and chairman of the board. He is survived by his wife, Alva Jean Richman, of the family home; two daughters, Vicky Brown, West Plains and Cathy Duggan, Osage Beach, Mo.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Henry Davis, Jason Richman Henry, Michael David Duggan and Mark Richman Duggan; one great-grandchild, Brina Jacen Davis; brother-in-law, H. R. “Bob” Mullins; and cousin, Dale Mitchell and wife, Thelma. His parents and son-in-law, Melvin “Butch” Brown, precede him in death. James Thomas Riddle - Age 68, West Plains MO - Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 30, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Riddle died 8:04 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, at Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla, Mo. He was born Jan. 25, 1939, in Piedmont, Mo., to George D. and Elsie Sparks Riddle. On July 2, 1962, Mr. Riddle was married at Paragould, Ark., to Edna L. Pitcher. He was a member of the National Guard. LENA MILLER RIECK - Age 91 - Pomona MO - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains. Mrs. Rieck died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday at West Vue Home, Inc. She was born Mar. 26, 1890 in West Plains, the daughter of Louis and Ida Wilhelmina Schumann Miller. In 1908 she graduated from Birch Tree High School (Shannon County), later attending the State Normal School in Springfield (Teacher's college). After receiving her teaching certificate, Mrs. Rieck taught school for several years in Shannon County. On June 2, 1912, she was married at Birch Tree to Frank Rieck, who preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 1967. She had been of the Methodist faith since young womanhood, her present membership being in the Birch Tree Methodist Church. Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Frank (Mary) Carver, Pomona; Mrs. Dean (Ruth) Butterfield, Nevada; Mrs. Charles (Ann) Pollick, Fowler CA; Mrs. Don (Betty) Mannbeck, St Charles; two sons, Frank Rieck, Jr., Norwalk CA; Wilfred Rieck, West Plains;  one brother, Frank Miller, Birch Tree, 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the West Parlor, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. JEWEL VESTER ROBERTS - On February 7, 2007, Jewel Vester Roberts went to heaven to be with the love of her live, the Lord Jesus Christ. Others to welcome her into heaven were: her husband, William 'Bill' Roberts and her son Ronald Roberts, whom preceded her in death. Jewel was born in Colbert, Oklahoma on September 21, 1916 to Selvy and Almer Elizabeth (Langston) Durbin. Jewel met and married Bill Roberts on January 17, 1940. Both Jewel and Bill spent an adventurous life living and traveling in the United States before settling for a time in Fort Collins, Colorado. Jewel was 'Momma' to seven children; Shirlee, Leonard, Chester, Ronald, Larry, Mary and Doris. All living children love, miss and pay tribute to this beautiful woman of God. Jewel loved God and was a living example to all who came to know and love her. Jewels ministry and gift to her family and others was to always listen, care and pray. You could always count on Momma to pray and always speaking a gentle kind word, never harsh or unkind. After the death of her lifetime mate, Jewel settled in the Eldon and Versailles area. Jewel faithfully attended the Assembly of God Church and will be missed. Although our hearts are broken, as a family we rejoice in knowing she is now safe in her Saviors arms. She will be missed by her children, 18 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. So long Momma, see you soon. JOE WILLIAM ROBERTS – Born April 19, 1915 in Charleston MO to William Noah and Florence (LANE) ROBERTS. He passed away December 20, 1998 at St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View MO at the age of 83 years. He was united in marriage to Evelyn COPELAND on March 12, 1939 in Greenville MO. To this union two children were born. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Frances Ione ROBERTS, and one brother, Paul ROBERTS. He is survived by his wife Evelyn of Winona MO; one son, Dr. Jon ROBERTS and his wife Suellen of Mountain View MO; one daughter, Susan REED and her husband Ron of Van Buren MO; and grandchildren, Curtis Jon ROBERTS and Jessica Marie ROBERTS, both of Fayetteville AR; Nathan Boyd REED and Janie Lyn REED, both of Van Buren MO; Shawn MOORE and his wife Debbie, of Oklahoma City OK; and two great grandchildren, Ashley and Christopher MOORE, also of Oklahoma City OK; two brothers, George ROBERTS of East Prairie MO; and James ROBERTS of Church Point LA; one sister, Mary FRENCH of Charleston MO. Joe moved to the Winona area in 1937 to teach in the public school system. He later became superintendent of the Winona School District. Joe served his county as a lieutenant in the U. S. Navy during World War II, and was an Honorary Colonel under Governor Warren HEARNES. After returning to Winona he worked with the Winona Savings Bank for 52 years. He served 27 years on the Winona School Board. Joe was mayor of the City of Winona for 16 years. He was an active member of the Winona Christian Church where he taught Sunday School for 28 years. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 1998 at the Christian Church in Winona with Rev. Doug CAGE officiating. She died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007 at St John's-St Francis Hospital at Mountain View Howell Co MO at the age of 89 years. She was married to Victor I. Roberts Feb. 4, 1939 at Spencer Roane Co WV and to this union five children were born. Midge is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Victor, and one grandson, Ron Walton. Survivors include sons Arnold L. Roberts of Tonsket WA; Ronald C. Walton & Cathy, also of Tonasket WA, and Larry B. Roberts & Connie of Victorville CA; daughters Wanda Sisco, Connie J. Roberts and Robert Walton, all of Birch Tree, MO; sisters Ruby and Carol Gandee of Ravenswood WV and Frankie Yound of Charleston WV; brother Joe Fields, Jr. and Martha of Spencer WV; twelve grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 22 great-great grandchildren. Bill H. Robertson - Age 77, of Willow Springs - Passed away Dec. 15, 2007, at Willow Care Nursing Home. Bill was born Feb. 15, 1930, at Manzanola, Colo., to A.R. and Alice (Haines) Robertson. Bill was a master sergeant in the Korean War serving with the Army. He is a lifetime member of the VFW, having served as quartermaster in Willow Springs for more than 20 years. He retired from MODOT after 38 years of service. Mr. Robertson was preceded in death by his parents A.R. and Alice Robertson Mr. Robertson is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy, of the family home. He is also survived by five children, Mickey and husband Ray Perkins, Toni and husband Ryan Boyle, all of Willow Springs, Ron Robertson of Mountain View, Carolyn Collins of West Plains, and Regina and husband Brian Balkenbusch of Wright City, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Becky, Billie, Tarissa, Nick, Drew, Hannah, Richard and Amanda; and two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Aleisha. Mr. Robertson is also survived by four brothers and three sisters, Gerald and wife Marilyn Robertson of Bozeman, Mont., Rex and wife Ellen Robertson of Three Forks, Mont., Merle and wife Darlene Robertson of Moorhead, Minn., Tom and wife Glenda Robertson of Glasford, Ill., Barbara Pruitt of Pekin, Ill., Joyce and husband Jim Williams of Clinton, Mo., and Betty and husband Gene Glisson of Willow Springs. Mr. Robertson is further remembered by cousins, nieces, nephews and numerous family friends. DELPHIA JUNE HALE ROBERTSON - Age 98, Willow Springs MO - Funeral services will be held at 2 p .m. Thursday in the Burnham General Baptist Church near Willow Springs with Rev. Sidney Williamson officiating. Mrs. Robertson died at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday in West Plains Memorial Hospital. She was born June 6, 1882 near Burnham, the daughter of the late James Monroe and Margaret Green Hale. She was married March 20, 1905, to Eddie Oscar Robertson. Mrs. Robertson had taught school in her younger years, and she and her husband operated a general store at Burnham for several years. She was a long time member of the Burnham General Baptist Church. Survivors include six children, Beryle Beebe, Sioux Falls SD; Blanche Spence, Willow Springs MO; Hazel Mullins, Sterling VA; Ruby Stewart, Madison SD; Opal Lile, Fort Smith AR; Dene Robertson, West Plains MO; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and three sisters. Burial will be in Burnham Cemetery under the direction of Burns-Mackey-Trentham Funeral Home, Willow Springs.

Nova McGuire Robertson - Age 77, Mountain View - Died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 1996. Services were at 1 p.m. Saturday in Duncan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Wayne Wood officiating. Burial was in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Robertson was born in the Oklahoma Lane community, outside of Farwell, Texas. She married Charles Robertson in 1941 at Amarillo. He died in 1988. She raised her family in El Paso, Texas. She retired with her husband in Mountain View. Survivors include two daughters, Donna Stricklin and Martha Gallion; a sister, Lois Billingsly of Oklahoma Lane; a brother, James McGuire of Lubbock, Texas; and three grandchildren. Charley R. Robinson - Passed away April 24, 2008, at his home in Springfield. He was born July 19, 1930, in Moody, Mo., to Bob and Bertha Robinson. He spent four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He married Mary Howard on June 19, 1954, and they moved to Illinois following his discharge from the Navy. He was employed at Caterpillar Tractor Company for a number of years. Following a medical retirement, they moved to Springfield and he spent time doing benefit auctions to help any school, volunteer fire department or person who needed help. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dane McAninch; and one sister, Beulah Wheeler. He is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Stephen, granddaughter, Cecily, Alba, Mo.; sons, Mike and Randy, Springfield; daughter, Susan Stehr and husband, Andrew, and grandchildren, Riley and Annika, Seattle, Wash.; one brother, Dale McAninch and wife, Wilma, Bealtho, Ill.; two sisters, Phyllis Wild, and Mary Perry and husband, Lewis, both of West Plains; one uncle, Lee Broyles and wife, Jackie, West Plains; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2008, at Greenlawn Funeral Home, Battlefield Road, followed by a 2 p.m. graveside service in Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Robert William 'Bob' Robinson - Age 69, West Plains - Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at Oak Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Robinson died 6:25 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, at his home. He was born May 10, 1938, in Stahl, Mo., to Noble William and Naomi Ruth Lawson Robinson. On March 10, 1990, he was married at Peace Valley, Mo., to Sherry Lynn Henry. He worked for Cloud Oak Flooring and had been a truck driver for Reed-Harlin Wholesale Grocery. Mr. Robinson was a former stock car driver and was a longtime fan. He attended Pomona Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Robinson, of the family home; six children, Anne Collier, Brenda Parker, Denola Belcher, husband, Randy, Bobby Colin, David Colin, and Gidget Harman, husband, Todd; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Sue Henry; and many special friends. Elwin Charles 'Preacher' Roe - Passed away Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at age 92 from a long illness. Preacher was born Feb. 26, 1916, in Ash Flat AR, to Dr. Charles Edward Roe and Elizabeth Ducker Roe. On Sept. 6, 1938, he was united in marriage to Mozee Vida Clay in Melborne AR They had two sons, Elwin Charles Roe Jr. and wife, Kay, of Pineville MO and Thomas Clay Roe and wife, Saundra, of West Plains MO. He has seven grandchildren, Elwin Spicer Roe, Thomas Keith Roe, Winnie Dewitt, Chris Roe, Jenny Long, Jimmy Roe, Kelly Roe and 11 great-grandchildren. Preacher attended Harding University in Searcy AR, for four years where he played on the college baseball team. In 1938, he began his major league baseball career with the St. Louis Cardinals. He spent 1939 through 1943 playing in the minor league in Columbus, OH and Rochchester NY. He spent his winter months coaching and teaching history to high school students. In 1944, Roe rejoined the major leagues with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Five years later, Preacher played with what was to be known as 'The Boys of Summer.' His career with the Brooklyn Dodgers spanned seven years and included five World Series appearances, with selections to five All Star Games. Preacher’s baseball records include: Highest winning percentage for a pitcher with 20 games, winning a game with the least amount of pitches, and having two 10 game winning streaks in one season. Preacher was elected to the MO Sports Hall of Fame Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame, Harding University Hall of Fame, NAIA Hall of Fame and the Dodger Hall of Fame. After baseball, Preacher owned and operated Preacher Roe’s Supermarket for more than 20 years. Upon retiring, he worked for the First National Bank and Centerre Banks of West Plains. Preacher was an enthusiastic supporter of the West Plains area, being involved in many civic organizations. He was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of West Plains. He was instrumental in helping to start the American Legion Baseball and Little League teams. Preacher was an avid golfer, playing up into his 90s. He loved telling stories and spending time with his family and friends. Preacher was preceded in death by his loving wife of 63 years Mozee; his parents; one sister, Elsie Fite; and five brothers, Creston, Wayman, Cecil, Roy and Glen. He is survived by his sons and their wives, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law Montine Moody and Wanda Roe, and special friend, Anna Garnett. Funeral services for Elwin Charles Roe were Thursday, Nov. 13, at the First United Methodist Church. HAYDEN T. ROE - Born March 9, 1921 at Portageville, MO the son of Eunice (Henry) Roe and Tom Roe and passed away November 26, 2006 at St. Louis, MO at the age of 85 years. He was united in marriage to Violet Bridges on January 30, 1943 and she preceded him in death on November 21, 1986. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; his foster parents Phillip and Elnora Portwood; 3 brothers Phoenix Roe, Marvin Roe and Alfred Roe; one sister, Lorene Tombs; four foster sisters Louzeller Thomas, Tressie Robinson, Martha Dillinger and Zara Ann Shelton; and one foster brother Castle Portwood. He is survived by two foster nieces Nora Fanning and Daisy May Defino of St. Louis, MO; Bertha Portwood of Doniphan, MO; two great foster nieces Sandy Robinson and Sonja Portwood both of Doniphan, MO; and special friends Larry Walker and wife of Strafford, MO and Louis Zamboni of St. Louis, MO. Hayden was born and raised in the Portageville, MO area. He later moved to Kansas City where he worked as a wood delivery driver. He moved to the Mountain View area in the late 1960's where he began farming. Hayden moved to the St. Louis area a few years ago to be close to his family when his health began to fail. Funeral Services were held Monday, December 4, 2006 at 3 pm at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Mountain View, MO with Rev. John Noble officiating. Interment was in Greenlawn Cemetery in Mountain View, MO under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home.

CLAUDE ARTHUR ROGERS - Born May 9, 1923 at Willow Springs Howell Co MO; died Feb. 9, 2004 at  Ozarks Medical Center West Plains Howell Co MO, age 80. Son of Wallace Rogers and Lillian Vanneal. Served in the United States Army during World War II. Employed at Midwest Walnut Company for 30 years. Brother of Emma June Castle. Arrangements under the direction of Willow Funeral Home; burial at Willow Springs City Cemetery.  West Plains Daily Quill.

Cora 'Bernice' Aydelott Rogers - Formerly of Walled Lake, MI, quietly passed away, surrounded by her loving family in the early morning hours, Friday, May 23, 2008, from natural causes while at her home in West Plains, MO.  Born June 12, 1912, to Daniel and Mary Aydelott in Booneville, AR., she was 95 years old. Mrs. Rogers was a pioneer and independent business owner in the Amway Corporation.  She was considered a leader amongst her peers in direct selling and had attained the level of 'Diamond Direct.'  She was very active in Amway and traveled throughout the world, giving talks and teaching seminars to those involved with Amway.  It afforded her to live a lifestyle to which she was able to do the things she loved for her family and herself.  She absolutely loved to travel and be around people.  However, she mostly enjoyed to be with her family as they were of the utmost importance to her.  She was considered by her family as the matriarch, and a wonderful and caring mother and grandmother.  She will be greatly missed by her family and those who knew her. Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her beloved husband Fred Rogers; her daughter Mary Melinda Pavlinac; and one sister and four brothers. She is survived by her son, Roger L. Rogers and his wife Alice of Port Charlotte, FL.; and her daughter Pamela C. Carroll and her husband Terry of West Plains, MO.  She is further survived by her eight grandchildren, Cindy Kilian, Kim Ware, Kari Havenar, Daniel Pavlinac, Nicholas Pavlinac Jr., Tammy Meyer, Teresa Glover and Patrick Farina.  She also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren: Logan and Haley, Crista and Delanie Kilian, Victor and Luanna Pavlinac, Kelsey and Amanda Meyer, and Zach and Katie Farina.  Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 29, 2008, at 10 a.m. at the Coats Funeral Home in Waterford, MI.  Burial will follow the services at the White Chapel Memorial Cemetery located in Troy, MI. Arrangements are under the direction of Coats Funeral Home, Waterford, MI., and Willow Funeral Home, Willow Springs, MO. 

Robert Dean 'Bob' Rogers - Age 62, West Plains MO - Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at Cotton Creek Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Rogers died 3:10 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2008, in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield MO. He was born Nov. 25, 1945, in Myrtle MO, to Shelby and Artie Mae Johnson Rogers. He attended the Couch Schools. Mr. Rogers left the Ozarks at an early age moving to Tulsa OK to find work. There he met and married Linda Johnson. He became the maintenance supervisor for Facet, a maker of oil and air filters until his retirement, at which time he moved to West Plains. Mr. Rogers enjoyed horses and had a ranch at Biggs, Okla. He is survived by two sons, Robbie Rogers, wife, Laura, and children, Jacob, Tyler and Chance, and Bryan Rogers, wife Crystal, and son, Bryce; two brothers, James Rogers, and Glen Rogers, wife, Becky; three sisters, Reba Ratliff, Jessie York, husband, Doyle, and Sue Campbell, husband, Kenneth; his aunts, Berniece Glenn and Barb Tallant; many nieces and nephews; and his special friends, Ronnie and Carol Williams. His parents; and one infant child, Sterling, precede him in death. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. today, Monday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Cotton Creek Cemetery or charity of choice and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

CHARLES RAY 'CHARLEY' ROSENBURG – Born August 23, 1949 in Birch Tree, Mo. to Bill Rosenburg and Ada Jane Ward. Charley passed away Wednesday evening April 12, 2006 at the John J. Pershing VA medical Center at 56 year. Charley is precede in death by his father, Bill Rosenburg and a brother, Billy Joe Rosenburg. He is survived by his mother Ada Rosenburg, of Mountain View, Mo.; one son, Jason Rosenburg and wife Amanda of Red Bay, Ala.; one daughter, Angela Brown and husband Mickey, of Belmont, Miss.; one grandson, Tyler Brown; one sister, Elda L. Barnett and Bill, of Everton, Mo.; one brother, David Rosenburg and wife Sandy of Mountain View, Mo.; and a host of nieces and nephews. Charley served in the Army during the Vietnam War, he received medals and letters of recognition of his service. He was known for his mechanical ability, whether it was lawn mowers, vehicles, or any other motors. He had a talent and could fix anything. Charley was also known for his helping hand. he was always willing to help people. Charley will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial services were held Saturday, April 15 at the Berea Mennonite Church at 3 p.m. with Tony Daracott officiating. WILLIAM JAMES 'BILL' ROSENBURG - Born Dec. 15, 1913 at Birch Tree Shannon Co MO, son of William and Betty Lane Rosenburg; died Apr. 11, 1984 at St John's Hospital in Springfield Greene Co MO, at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 6 days. He was united in marriage to Ada Jane Ward on Jul. 31, 1937 at West Plains Howell Co MO and to this union four children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, of the home; daughter Elda Barnett of Amory MS; sons Billy Joe, Charley Ray and David, all of Birch Tree MO; sisters Bertha Callahan, Birch Tree, Nancy McKinney, West Plains, and Nellie Farnsworth, Portland Multnomah Co OR; 11 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. Bill will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Apr. 14, 1984 at 1 pm at the Birch Tree Baptist Church with Rev. Ralph Kerley and Rev. Truman Pulliam officiating. Burial was at Berea-Mennonite Cemetery under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Birch Tree.

Lillie Belle Martin Ross - Age 98, daughter of Argus and Leroy Palmer, was born October 26, 1909, near Hartville, Mo. She departed this life Saturday, July 12, 2008, in Kabul Nursing Home, in Cabool, Mo. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred Martin, Jesse Martin, and Audy Ross. She survived by her five children and their spouses, Donald and Neeta Martin, of Grovespring, Mo., Ellis and Lucille Martin, of Branson West, Mo., Mary and Farris Lawler, and Ted and Merlene Martin, all of Mtn. Grove, Mo., and Jesse, Jr. and Judy Martin, of Titusville, Fl.; two step-children, Cathryn Crunkleton, and her husband, Dale, of Harrison, Ark., and Jean Elliot, of Marshall, Ark.; nine grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2008, in Holman-Howe Chapel, of Hartville. With burial in Durbin Cemetery, north of Hartville, under direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Hartville, Mo. Visitation will be held 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2008, in the funeral home. William K. Rothermich - Age 73, Pomona MO - Graveside services were held Saturday, May 31, 2008, in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery in Howell County, Mo. Arrangements were under the direction of Carter Funeral Home Inc., West Plains, Mo.

OLEY FRANCIS ROUSH - Born December 18, 1890 in Howell County, south of Mountain View, Missouri.  He was the son of Isaac Frank and Reppy Hargroves Roush.  He died Wednesday, October 27, 1982 at 12:22 p.m. in the St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View at the age of 91 years, 10 months, and 9 days.  In 1912, he married Ethel Davis of Winona, Missouri.  To this marriage three children were born:  Davis Francis of Eminence, Oley Francis Jr. of St. James, and Allie Rose, deceased.  After his wife, Ethel, died in 1921, he married Bess Keathley in 1923, and they raised one daughter, Mildred Keathley Hensley, deceased. He is survived by his two sons, Davis and Oley Jr.; one daughter-in-law, Thelma; three children, Davis Jr. and wife, Joan Roush, of West Plains; Linda Pat Hensley of St. Louis, and Kris Hensley of Boehringer and husband, Boe, of St. Louis; three great grandchildren, AFC Rick Roush and wife, Sheila, of the Air Force Base, Mountain. Home, Idaho, Kelli and Scott Roush of West Plains; one son-in-law, Pat Hensley, of Rolla; two half-brothers, Everett Peace of Kansas City, and Si Peace of Villa Ridge; two nephews, Ottis Roush and wife, June, from Memphis, Tennessee and Buck Roush and his wife, Joyce, from Pocahontas, Arkansas.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-father, Andrew Peace; two brothers, Otis and Oscar Roush; and three half-brothers, Carl, Bill, and Ernest  Peace. Oley worked in timber and saw milled all his working days.  He was known as 'Saw' Miller Roush to his many friends.  They lived in many places around Howell, Shannon and Carter Counties, working the timber from the land.  'Dad O', a nickname he acquired by his first grandson, Davis Jr., was carried on down with all the rest of the grandchildren and family. He gave so much happiness and shared so much kindness.  Many good memories surrounding his life will  be cherished forever, not only by his family, but his friends also. As a young man, he made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ and was saved during a revival in a small church north of Summersville.  He remained true to his belief and was a faithful worker and supporter of the Eminence Baptist Church. Oley was not one to criticize the short comings of others.  He was a very self-disciplined man, and he was well known for his honesty, integrity and fairness with others.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand and a sympathetic ear to your problems and advise if he could, but never to offend.  He will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew and loved him. Services were held at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Eminence Saturday, October 30, 1982 at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Raymond Sconce and Rev. Rick Miller officiating.  Interment was in the New Eminence Cemetery in Eminence.  

CAROLYN K. SANDERS LACY ROWE - Age 57, of Zephyrhills, Fla., died at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2007, at Hospice House of Dade City, Fla. She was born in Willow Springs, Mo., on Oct. 17, 1949, to Denver and Leota (Shriver) Sanders. Carolyn moved to Florida in 1997 from southwest Missouri. She was a cosmetologist. Carolyn owned and operated 'Hairbenders' salon in Florida. Carolyn Sanders married Jeff Rowe in 1998, in Zephyrhills. He survives. Other survivors include one son, Preston Lacy, of Hollywood, Calif.; one daughter, Lisa Nicholson and her husband, Brett, of Lee's Summit, Mo.; her mother, Leota Sanders, of Sarcoxie, Mo.; one brother, Dale Sanders, and one sister, Sheila Sanders, both of Sarcoxie; and one granddaughter, Lily Nicholson. She was preceded in death by one brother, Herb Sanders. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7, at the Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel, Carthage, Mo. Private family burial will be at Willow Springs Cemetery at a later date. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Ulmer Funeral Home. 

Paul Steven Rowlett – Age 53, West Plains - Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Rowlett died at 7:45 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, in Ozarks Medical Center. He was born Aug. 30, 1953, in Mountain View, Mo., to Jake P. and Mary Louise Grove Rowlett.  On May 27, 1973 he was married at West Plains, Mo., to Bonnie Johnson. Mr. Rowlett was employed at S.E.I. and loved to hunt and fish. He was of the Pentecostal faith. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Rowlett, of the family home; three children, Kim Johnson and husband, Linn, of Willow Springs, Mo., Jeremy Rowlett of West Plains, Mo., and Joey Rowlett and wife, Andrea, of Ozark, Mo.; nine grandchildren, Michael Riden, Brittani Riden, Ashli Riden, Madison Johnson, Lucas Johnson, Jessica Gilmore, Joshua Rowlett, Kaylyn Rowlett, and Emma Rowlett; three brothers, Earl Rowlett and wife, Shirley, of West Plains, Lynn Rowlett and wife, Judy, of Mountain View, Mo., and Perry Rowlett of Willow Springs, Mo.; one sister, Carol Wilcox of Alton, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. His parents and two infant brothers precede him in death. Burial was at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Gabriel Jefferson 'Gabe' Royer - Age 4 - born March 25, 2001 Hartshorn, Missouri to Jeffrey and Patricia (Barry) Royer. He passed away at his home in Mountain View, Howell County, Missouri. He is survived by his parents Jeffrey and Patricia (Barry) Royer, three brothers; Kyle Royer, Caleb Royer, Joshua Royer and one sister Anna Royer, all of the home. Paternal Grandparents; Eugene Royer of Illinois and Linda Highfield of Florida.  Maternal Grandparents; Robert Barry of Hawaii and Bonnie Dewees of Missouri.

Member of VFW Post 1828; Disabled American Veterans Post 43. 'WWII, Field Artillery.'  Fought in all five military campaigns. Self employed as a watchmaker in Colorado before moving to West Plains. ALICE J. BLAND RUSSELL - Born July 11, 1923 in Independence KS to Floyd Emmett BLAND and Eva Irene (MYERS) BLAND. Alice passed away on February 17, 2006 at the age of 82 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, David Lee GENTRY; one stepson, Wayde RUSSELL; two brothers, Donald E. BLAND and Troy BLAND; and five grandchildren. Alice is survived by three sons, Jerry GENTRY, Oakdale CA; Jimmy BLAND, Modesto CA; and Peter PAGE, Modesto CA; three daughters, Dorothy Ann NEWCOMB and husband Leroy E., Hayward CA; Carol E. MARTIN, Modesto CA; Sheila Gail BLACK, Willow Springs MO; two stepsons, Scott RUSSELL, Los Angeles CA and Ward RUSSELL, Los Banos CA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. GARRY LEE RUSSELL, SR. - Age 61, Forsyth - Died Dec. 10, 2006. He was born Apr. 15, 1945, the son of James Tolbert and Alma Ann Russell. He was raised in West Plains. He was a member of Full Gospel Church of Sparta MO. He was preceded in death by a son, Shane, and a grandson, William Casey Erbscloe.  Survivors include his wife Sharon, Forsyth; four sisters, Maxine Nicholson, West Plains; Lorene Connor, Texas; Rhoda Wood and husband Glen, Texas, and Shirley Brown, West Plains. One brother, James Kenneth Russell, and wife Kate, Republic; children Kimberley Wilson, Ebenezer MO; Garry Lee Russell, Jr. and wife Lynne, Springfield MO; Sondra Dobbs and husband Lee, Bois D'Arc, MO; Gregory Russell, Springfield; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson, and numerous nieces & nephews. Graveside services were held Dec. 16, 2006 at Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Terry Glain Russell - Age 37, Dora MO - Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, at the Martin Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Russell died Friday evening, Oct. 10, 2008, at his home near Dora, Mo. He was born Dec. 11, 1970, at West Plains, Mo., to Dwain and Ruth Howard Russell.   On June 6, 1988, he was married at Gainesville, Mo., to Sandra Harris. Mr. Russell was a dairy farmer. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Russell, of the family home; two children, Brian Russell, fiancee, Andrea, West Plains, and Brady Russell, of the family home; his parents, Dwain and Ruth Russell, Dora, Mo.; one brother, Gary Russell, wife, Bonnie Wasola, Mo.; father-in-law, David Harris, wife, Betty, West Plains; mother-in-law, Anna Brauer, husband, Kenny, West Plains; brother-in-law, Ted Harris, wife, Carey, Caulfield, Mo.; one nephew, Ted Russell, wife, Jody; two nieces, Ashley and Shelby Harris; one great-niece, Joely; and one great-nephew, Rusty. His grandparents; one niece, Rosalee Russell; and one sister-in-law, Teresa Russell, precede him in death. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
