SAMUEL GEORGE LAMBORN - Born November 20, 1930 in Reynolds County, MO the son of Roy Alonzo LAMBORN and Dorothy Elizabeth PRATER. He passed away December 10, 2007 at West Plains, MO at the age of 77 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ethel DEWITT LAMBORN; one son Robert LAMBORN; and two brothers Christopher Alexander LAMBORN and James Wesley LAMBORN. He is survived by his special friend Maudie MARSHALL of Mountain View, MO; one son Dasin LAMBORN of Aspermont, TX; three step-sons Larry LAMBORN of Rogersville, MO, Ron MATTHEWS of Lewisville, TX and Dennis MATTHEWS of Wichita, KS; one step daughter Carol A. ROE of Fritch, TX; ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends. George enlisted in the United States Army on August 20, 1954 and served during the Korean War. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the Marksman, and the Army Occupation Medal (Germany). George was honorably discharged from active duty on August 7, 1956. He enlisted in the United States Army Reserves and was honorably discharged on July 31, 1962. George relocated to Wayside, Texas after serving in the United States Army. He farmed in the Texas area until he moved back to Bunker, MO in 1985 and later moved to Eunice, MO in 1991. He worked with his family at the sawmill until he moved to Birch Tree, MO in 1999. George loved to tinker with lawnmowers and chainsaws. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral Services were held Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 1:00 PM at Duncan Funeral Chapel in Mountain View, MO with Rev. Jim JACKSON officiating. Interment was in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Mountain View, MO under the direction of Duncan Funeral Home of Mountain View, MO.

ELIZABETH L. ANDERSON LADEN - Age 75.  Died at St Mary's Health Center, Jefferson City Cole Co MO. Daughter of Robert G. Anderson and Barbara Kennedy. Married Edgar D. 'Frog' Laden at Willow Springs on Aug. 13, 1948. Their children were Mary Ellen Laden, Sarah Briggs, Michael Robert Laden. She was a 1947 graduate of Willow Springs High School; organist and choir member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was the food service director at Willow Springs Public Schools; a past president and vice president of the Heritage Dolls Club and Jefferson City Miniature Club; a Girl Scout Leader, PTA member and officer. Services were under the direction of the Freeman Mortuary of Jefferson City. Burial at the Willow Springs City Cemetery.  - West Plains Daily Quill, Apr. 1, 2004.

Bill LaFevers - Age 71, of West Plains MO - Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Mr. LaFevers died at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006, at his home.   He was born on June 28, 1935, in Imboden, Ark., to Herbert Elmer and Elsie Iris Tolbart LaFevers. He graduated from the West Plains High School with the class of 1953 and on April 11, 1970, he was married to Janet Kay Hollingshad. He was of the Methodist faith.  He is survived by his wife, Janet LaFevers, of the family home; six children, Dana Frost and husband, Roger, of Clarkridge, Ark., William David LaFevers and wife, Jan, of Branson, Douglas LaFevers and wife, Amy, of West Plains, Daniel LaFevers and wife, Karen, of Mountain View, Debra Finley and husband, David, of West Plains, Deric LaFevers and wife, Nicole, of Springfield; 10 grandchildren, Michael Frost, Ashley Matejek, Abigail LaFevers, Hunter LaFevers, Quentin LaFevers, Holden LaFevers, Logan LaFevers, Zach Finley, Allison Finley, Syndnee LaFevers and one on the way, William Ryder LaFevers; two great-grandchildren, Isabel Brook Matejek, and Blake Michael Frost; three sisters, Helen Cornel and husband, Phil, of Sunset Hill, Mo., Nancy Henry and husband, Jim, of West Plains, and Janice Bowden and husband, Keith, of West Plains.  His parents; one sister, Rita Rose LaFevers; two aunts, Helen LaFevers King and Mabel Tolbart; and one uncle, John Tolbart precede him in death.  Burial was held at New Liberty Cemetery. Doris Maxine Gundy Lambe – Age 84, West Plains MO - Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 5, 2008, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mrs. Lambe died 7:03 a.m., Saturday, May 3, 2008, in Brooke Haven HealthCare. She was born Aug. 15, 1923, in Muskegon, Mich., to John and Daisy Crow Gundy. On March 15, 1948, she was married at Jonesboro, Ark., to William Franklin “Frank” Lambe who preceded her in death on March 2, 2006. She enjoyed yard sales and loved her family. Mrs. Lambe was a Christian. She is survived by seven children, Betty Raistrick and husband, Mike, Bonnie Nielson and husband, Leroy, Bill Lambe and wife, Rhonda, Sue Prewitt and husband, George, John Lambe and wife, Brenda, Randy Lambe and wife, Cindy, and Jerry Lambe and wife, Julie; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one sister, Susie Passage; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, husband, one grandson and one brother precede her in death. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery. Lois Mae Plummer Lampkins - Eldest daughter of George Thomas Plummer and Nettie Armanda Lynch Plummer, was born September 7, 1921, at Alley Spring and passed away at St. John’s/St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View, MO, on Saturday, May 31, 2008, at the age of 86 years and 9 months. On October 28, 1940, Lois was united in marriage to Orval Sherman Lampkins, and to this union five children were born: Erma Roe of Mountain View, MO; Annamay Gosnell of Timmonsville, South Carolina; David Lampkins of Linn Creek, MO; Bonnie Tucker Yardley of Winona, MO; and Evelyn Smith Chappell of Greenville, Tennessee. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse; one sister, Etta 'Toots' Stacy Keeling; four granddaughters, Patricia, Julie, Annette, and Delta Dawn; four brothers-in-law; and two sons-in-law. She is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Stoops, Neva Crabtree, and Jewell Percy; one brother, Paul Plummer; her five children; 20 grandchildren, Tony, Elaine, Michael, Sheila, Timothy, Brenda, Kathy, Bob, Lisa, Kim, Keith, Kelly, Kurtis, David, Debbie, Bill, Jack 'Bubb', Jamie, Deon, and Starla; 40 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. Lois was a long-time member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Birch Tree, MO. Her favorite activities included worshiping the Lord and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed playing bingo and listening to gospel music at Birch Tree Place, where she resided for the past several years. She will be sadly missed by the many who knew and loved her. Services for Lois were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 3 at the Bradford Funeral Chapel in Summersville with Rev. Roger Smith officiating. marquis lafayette landrum - Mtn view bank president died wednesday night - Marquis Lafayette Landrum, 84, had been ill for last year. A resident of Mountain View for 43 years and president of the Bank of Mountain View for 35 years, died Wednesday night at his home after an illness of one year due to complications. He had been bedfast for the last two months. The funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Church of Christ and burial in the family plot  in the Mountain View Cemetery. Mr. Landrum had served his community in many capacities during his residence in Mountain View, having been a member of the Board of Education  and of the city council and mayor of the town for a number of years.  He was a member of the Church of Christ  and had given the land and had provided the building  for the church when it was built a number of years ago. He was born April 1, 1867 in _______ County, TN, moving to Ripley Co MO with his parents when a young boy. He returned to Tennessee when a young man to attend McKinley College at McKinley TN  and then completed his normal education at Stanberry College, Stanberry ,P. - Married in Ripley County - He was married to Otis Lodishie White in Ripley County and they became the parents of four sons. Mrs. Landrum died in Mountain View in December, 1938. He was married to Mrs. Permie White of West Plains in 1938 and her death occurred in 1943. Mr. Landrum and his family resided in Cole County near Jefferson City MO for a number of years. He was in the hardware business at Naylor MO, then moved to Russellville where he published the Russellville Rustler weekly newspaper in the early 1900s. Later they moved to Eugene MO where he was in the mercantile business and was traveling representative for the Goddard Grocery Company of St Louis. Associated with others there he helped establish the Bank of Eugene. - To Mountain View in 1908 - In 1908, the Landrum family moved to Mountain View where he purchased the controlling interest of the Bank of Mountain View from W. W. Coffman and has continued since that imte in operating the bank. His son, Roy Landrum, is vice president and manager of the bank. He is also survived by two other sons: Carl R. Landrum of Hubb NM and William O. Landrum of Kansas City MO. The eldest son, Lester 'Monk' Landrum, died in 1941. ~ West Plains Daily Quill June 1 1951. Jewel clark Langston - Age 84, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away 14 Sep 2004 at North Kansas City Hospital. Memorial services were held 18 Sep 2004 at the Bethel United Church of Christ, 4900 NE Parvin Road.  Cremation. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Jewell Langston Memorial Fund. Mrs. Langston was born 26 Nov 1919 in Ash Grove, Missouri to Andrew Mervin and Ida Mae Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughters' father, Truel Langston.
Survivors include Bonnie Dawe of Wentzville, Missouri;  Sandra Bradshaw and Harry Thomas of Marathon, Florida; Carolyn Langston of Kansas City, Missouri; Evelyn Seigrist of West Plains, Missouri; Capt. NANCY V. LARSON - Age 65, born in Chicago Aug. 30, 1941, and a resident of Winona for the past 16 years, passed away at home on June 22, 2007. Nancy was predeceased by her parents, a brother and an infant son. She is survived by her husband, Frank, of Winona; a daughter Amanda (Ben) HOLLENSBY of Lake-in-the-Hills, IL; two sons, David KURPIER (Kelly) of Rapid River, MN, and Michael KURPIER (Melinda) of Ft. Thompson, OR; grandchildren, sisters and brothers, and many dear friends. Nancy was a member of Mountain View Methodist Church where a memorial service will be held at a date to be announced. MARTHA JANE GERMAN LAWSON - Daughter of Anderson Jones German and Mary (Presley) German. She married William on Dec 23, 1882 in Warrensburg, Greene Co. TN. She moved to Missouri about 1905. She had 10 children. She was born Warrensburg, Greene Co TN., Jun 7, 1871 and died at her home at Burnham, Howell Co MO. Dec 19, 1927, at the age of 67 years, 6 months and 13 days. She was united in marriage to Will Lawson, December 23, 1882 and to this union was born ten children, three of which died in infancy. She is survvived by her husband and seven children: Mrs. Jim Johnson; Walter and Harrison of Kansas City; Mrs Ado Linder of Clinton, Okla; Mrs. Hariete (sic) Grover of Enid, Okla; Mrs. Grace Johnson of Oilton, Okla; and Mrs. Pluma Essink of hte home address and two brothers: Line German of Willow Springs and John German of Bainbridge, Ind. At the age of 30 years she was converted in the Methodist church in Tennessee and when she came to this country in 1905 she joined the Presbyterian church and live a true christian until her death. The funeral services were held at the home church and interment in the Baptist Church Cemetery at Willow Springs, All children were present except Mars Harriet Grover. Robert Dwight Lawrence - Age 65, West Plains MO - Died 10 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2006, at Fulton County Hospital, Salem, Ark. Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, West Plains, under direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or St. Jude Children's Hospital and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

JOSEPH E. LAW - Age 69, Pomona Howell Co MO - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St Joseph Church at White Church with Father James Reynolds officiating. Rosary services will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Burns-Mackey Chapel at Willow Springs. Mr. Law died Monday in West Plains Memorial Hospital. He was born May 8, 1910 in Pennsylvania, the son of the late Edward Law and Elizabeth Martin Law. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Law of the home. Burial will be in White Church Cemetery under the direction of Burns-Mackey Funeral Home of Willow Springs. (1980).

Evelyn D. Gage Lear - Age 76, LaHarpe KS, formerly of West Plains - Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2008, at Pottersville Cemetery, West Plains. Mrs. Lear died Monday, July 21, 2008, at Allen County Hospital, Iola KS. She was born Jan. 29, 1932, at Sitka AR to Raymond and Nellie Marie (Raby) Gage. She and her husband, Elmer L. Gunter, made their home in West Plains for 17 years before his death. On Oct. 25, 1975, she married Earl 'Skeets' Lear, who died June 6, 1987. She had worked as a cook and nurse’s aide at nursing homes, and had served as site manager for the LaHarpe Senior Center for several years. She is survived by one son, Dennis Gunter, Tulsa OK; one brother, David Thomason, Harrison AR; one sister, Mary Earnhart, Harrison AR; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, two brothers and one sister. Memorials may be made to the Center for Basic Cancer Research at Kansas State University.  Arrangements under the direction of Waugh-Yokum and Fiskel Memorial Chapel, Iola KS.

Eugene H. LeBaron - Age 82. Born Jan. 11, 1926, in Mountain View, Mo., the son of Frank and Myrtle Partney LeBaron. He departed this life on Nov. 16, 2008, in Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains, Mo. Eugene graduated from Mountain View High School in 1943. He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army as a member of the 1257th Combat Engineers Company C. He was united in marriage to Sharon Lee McThompson on March 21, 1957, completing his family with his four children, Gene, Jayne, Terry and Wanda. Over the years, Eugene operated a dairy farm, a pallet mill, and was cashier for Rhine Auction. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Mountain View. He taught adult Sunday classes at several churches for 33 years. He also loved music and led singing at various churches. Eugene loved sports and enjoyed playing basketball and baseball while in high school. He also loved the outdoors, but what he loved most was his family – children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Gene Ann Booth; and two brothers, James and Troy. Survivors include his wife, Sharon, of West Plains; his children, Jayne McElmurry and husband, Bert, of West Plains, Terry LeBaron and wife, Linda, of Mountain Grove, and Wanda Robertson and husband, Earl, of the state of California; one sister, Thelma David and husband, Gene, of Mountain View; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, in Yarber Chapel, Mountain View, with Brother Bob Arnold officiating. Interment was in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, Pomona, under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View.

Ramona Ann Kimbell LeBaron - Age 46, of Mountain View - Died Saturday, February 24, 2007 at her home. She was born August 27, 1960 in Spirit Lake, Iowa to Charles Martin Kimbell and Guurtje Jobben Kimbell. Ramona attended high school in Fulton, Missouri. She married Jim LeBaron on February 11, 1991 in Willow Springs, Missouri. Ramona loved flowers and spending time with her family. She had spent much time during her illness working puzzles and coloring. She is survived by her husband, Jim; mother and stepfather, Keith and Guurtje Harrod of Mountain View, Missouri; one brother, Mark Edwin Kimbell of Rich Hill, Missouri; two sisters, Belle Anne Kimbell of New Albany, Indiana and Mary Charlene Davis of Cabool, Missouri; two stepbrothers, Keith Harrod of Ferdinand, Indiana and Kevin Harrod of Spencer, Indiana. Ramona is preceded in death by her father; one sister, Julia Grace Kimbell; and one brother, Charles Martin Kimbell, Jr. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at Yarber Chapel, Mountain View, Missouri with Rev.  Larry Yarber officiating. Cecil Charles Ledgerwood - Born February 14, 1942 to W.E. and Evelyn DePriest Ledgerwood in Oregon County, Missouri. He departed this life on December 8, 2007 at St. John's-St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View, Missouri at the age of 65. Cecil graduated from Thomasville High School in 1960. Shortly after, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served three years, most of which was spent overseas. He then worked for General Motors in St. Louis, Missouri until he retired. He is preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy, and one grandson, Vincent. Survivors include his wife, Vivian, of Birch Tree, Missouri; his parents, Edward and Evelyn Ledgerwood of Birch Tree; two brothers, Chester Ledgerwood of Birch Tree and Doyle Ledgerwood of Washington; four daughters, Angela Wagner and husband, Tommy, of Mountain View, Missouri, Lisle Berry and husband, Shawn, of Tunias, Missouri, Karen Hill and husband, Russell, of Warrenton, Missouri, and Donna Putnam and husband, Rick, of House Springs, Missouri; one very special stepson, Kevin Miley and wife, Wendy, of Birch Tree; a special step daughter, Jackie Gagan and husband, Tom, of Baldwin, Missouri; four additional stepchildren, Jon, Phylis, Billy, Jackie, and Donald; ten grandchildren; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. EVELYN DEPRIEST LEDGERWOOD - Into God's hands, Evelyn Justine DePriest Ledgerwood was offered up into eternal rest by her beloved family on Saturday, January 19, 2008. She was born in West Plains, Missouri on December 18, 1919 to the union of W.G. and Gertrude DePriest. Her family moved to Imboden, Arkansas and then back to Missouri in a horse and wagon when she was a small child. It was in the community around the Oregon-Shannon county line that she met and later was united in marriage to William Edward Ledgerwood on March 24, 1938. Edward and Evelyn wallpapered their first home with newspapers, which was later used in a game called "I Spy" by finding words on the wall. Throughout her life, Evelyn took great pride in her family. She is survived by her husband, Edward, of Birch Tree, MO; two sons, Chester Ledgerwood and wife, Mary Jane, of Birch Tree, MO and Doyle "Scott" Ledgerwood and wife, Donna, of Glenoma, Washington; daughter-in-law, Vivian Ledgerwood of Birch Tree, MO; 10 grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and she is survived by one brother, Millard DePriest of Louisville, Mississippi; one sister, Vera Mae Hitt of Birch Tree, MO; and a host of relatives and friends. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by infant daughter, Dorothy; her son, Cecil; and numerous loved ones. Evelyn was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ having been baptized at an early age. She loved the County Line Pentecostal Church of which she was a member and attended services until her health declined. She displayed a wonderful, loving spirit. All that she did was done in that spirit - from the prayers she offered up to the baking of her famous raisin bars and divinity candy. Evelyn was a devoted wife and mother. She was nurturing and selfless and her love was felt by all. She truly portrayed Proverbs 31:10 "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies." Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at County Line Pentecostal Church with Pastor Boyd Hosman officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Birch Tree, Missouri under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, Missouri.

DON CALVIN LEE - Born January 19, 1926 at Mountain View, MO the son of Wesley David Lee and Lucinda (Duncan) Lee and passed away August 20, 2007 at Mountain View, MO at the age of 81 years. He was united in marriage to Doris D. Hailey on May 21, 1947 at West Plains, MO. On May 21, 2007 they celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers Verl Lee, Jack Lee and Cecil Lee; 4 sisters Freda Starnes, Emogene Hoover, Shirley Hite and Marjorie Trowbridge. Don is survived by his wife Doris Lee of Mountain View, MO; one brother Tommy D. Lee and wife Rosemary of Gladstone, MO; two sisters Ora Faye Taylor of Milton-Freewater, OR and Cleo Pruett and husband Rex of Kansas City, MO; several nieces and nephews and other family and friends. Don attended grade school in the rural Mountain View area and later attended Summersville High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II. Don was a German prisoner of war during his service in the United States Army. During that time he was taken prisoner, his brother Jack Lee was killed in action at Iwo Jima, Japan; his brother-in-law Rex Pruitt was also a German prisoner of war, and his brother-in-law Willis Trowbridge was serving in the South Pacific as well. Don served in the Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns were he was awarded the American Theater Ribbon, EAME Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal II. In 1953 Don and Doris moved to Kansas City, MO. Don worked at the American Can Company in Kansas City for 23 years. He later worked as a janitor in the Kansas City Public Schools for 11 years before he retired in 1988. In 1990 Don and Doris relocated to Ozark, MO where they lived until they returned to the Mountain View area in May 2005. Don and Doris never had children, but they loved taking care of their dachshund dogs. Over the years they had raised and loved six of them. Don loved to build and tinker with things. He built bird houses and a grandfather clock. He was good at fixing things, and he would always say 'If I can't fix it, nobody can.' Don enjoyed fishing and spending time at the lake house he and Doris built at Trenton, MO. He will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved him. MICHAEL EUGENE 'GENE' LEE - Born October 26, 1947, at Winona, Missouri, the son of Ralph and Rose Mary Martin Lee.  He departed this life August 30, 1994, at Winona, Missouri, at the age of 46 years. He was married twice, to Judy Tucker & to Jerri Miller Bay. Gene was an artist by profession. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepfather, Roy Holloway. He is survived by one daughter, Brandi Michelle Lee, of Mountain View, MO; two brothers, Pete Holloway of Springfield, MO; and Dean Holloway of Flemingsburg, KY; one sister, Roxanne Turner of Springfield, MO; three nephews: Dan, Josh and Lucas Holloway; and one niece, Elizabeth Holloway. Eugene attended the Pentecostal Church of God in Mountain View. Funeral services were held September 2, 1994, at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Winona with Rev. Alfred Henry 'Al'  Lehman - Mountain Home Baxter Co AR - Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Reverend Kenneth Taglauer officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, at Kirby and Family Funeral Home.  Al Lehman died Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, in Mountain Home at the age of 83.  He was born Thursday, June 11, 1925, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Henry and Bertha Bocha Lehman. He married JoAnne Zavesky on Sept. 22, 1956, at Chicago, Ill., and worked as a Purchasing Agent.  Al was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of WWII and flew 35 missions over Germany.  Al lived in Mountain Home since 1987, moving from Deerfield, Ill., and was a member of the B.P.O. Elks, Mountain Home, Ozark VFW Post 3246 and Alley-White American Legion No. 52.  Alfred Lehman is survived by his wife, JoAnne Lehman; one son, Paul (Julie) Lehman, Cary, Ill.;  one daughter, Laura (Reverend David) Richards, Whitehall, Ark.; four grandchildren, Todd and Kelly Nodurfth, David and Grant Lehman; four sisters, Lillian Muldoon, Lombard, Ill., Edith (Len) Raddatz, Elmhurst, Ill., Dorothy (Walter) Pavella, Chicago, Ill., and Donna Doonan, Naperville, Ill.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Art.  Burial will be in the Maynard Bend Cemetery, Gamaliel, Ark., with Richard Zeiger, Paul Wadley, Mick Muldoon, Todd Nodurfth, Kelly Nodurfth and Ray Hutchison serving  as pallbearers.  Memorials may be made to the Redeemer Lutheran Church Building Fund, Hospice House or Perry Orphans.  Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services. Kenneth E. 'K. E.' Letterman - Born on Jan. 6, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to the late Edward J. and Pauline Letterman. Kenneth, known by many as 'The Chief,' passed away on Aug. 2, 2008, at the age of 63, doing what he loved to do, working at his produce stand, Cherokee Produce, and watching the cars go by. Kenneth belonged to and was baptized in the First Christian Church of Willow Springs as a teen boy. He graduated from Willow Springs High School in 1963. He was involved in the FFA in high school and was an FFA Alumni President as an adult. Kenneth was united in marriage to Linda McClellan on May 23, 1964, at the Pomona Christian Church. Kenneth and Linda had three children, Justan, Sarah and Jimmy. He was a dozer operator and construction worker for many years. Kenneth was a mentor, not just to anyone, but to everyone who talked with him. He was always willing to listen and help out any way he could – he had a heart of gold. Kenneth loved to garden, and loved spending time with his friends and family. He was deeply loved by those who knew him. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Linda Letterman; son Justan Letterman and fiancé, Pamela Copas and his children, Braxton and Baylee Letterman; daughter Sarah and her husband, Jim, and their children, Brandon, Jacob and Julie Turnbull; and son, Jimmy and his children, Kayla and Andrew Letterman. His two brothers, Edward Jr. and Matthew, and one sister, Callie Letterman, all of Willow Springs survive him. Kenneth was laid to rest at the Willow Springs Cemetery under the direction of the Willow Springs Funeral Home on Aug. 5, 2008. Deacon John David Twist officiated. Pallbearers were Justan Letterman, Jimmy Letterman, Jim Turnbull, Ted Stapp, Khoa Nguyen, Matthew Letterman, Andrew Letterman, Jacob Turnbull, Wayne Twist and Edward Jr. Letterman. PAULINE M. TWIST LETTERMAN - A long-time resident of Willow Springs, quietly passed away in the early afternoon hours, Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, while at Willow Care Nursing Home from natural causes. Born March 24, 1925, to Felix and Rose Twist in Sand Springs, Okla., she was 82 years old. Pauline was married to Edward J. Letterman on May 23, 1942, in Robstown, Texas. To this union, four children were born. Since the day they were married, their marriage was a true partnership. Pauline was very instrumental in taking care of the family home and farm. "Where one left off the other began," stated family. "That's just the way it was." Her family further stated that she was a devoted wife and mother and described her as caring, wise, overly generous and always willing to put others before herself often going without to do so. She was very proud to be a Native American and a descendant of the Cherokee Bear clan and a citizen of the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah, Okla. She had many enjoyments in her life; however, she especially loved to spend time with her family and "grandbabies." Pauline never got over the passing of her husband and wanted so badly to be with him again. Although family will miss her terribly, it is now a happy day as the two are reunited again at last. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband, Edward J. Letterman Sr. on Oct. 25, 2006. She is survived by her children, Edward J. Letterman Jr. and his wife, Judith, Kenneth Letterman and his wife, Linda, Matthew Letterman and his wife, Luree, and his daughter Callie Letterman all of Willow Springs. She further leaves behind 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; her brothers, Ray Twist and his wife, Ann, of Kingsville, Texas; Donald Twist and his wife Mary of Cherokee Village, Ark.; and her sister, Virginia Williams of Salem, Ark. A graveside funeral service for Pauline was Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, at 11 a.m. at the Willow Springs City Cemetery in Willow Springs. Arrangements were under the direction of Willow Funeral Home. 

DOROTHY MYRA COLLINS LEWALLEN - Age 66 years, 16 days. Born Jan. 20, 1922 at Randolph Co AR; died Feb. 6, 1988 at West Plains Howell Co MO. Daughter of Andy Collins and Elizzie Jones. Married Hershall Lewallen May 26, 1955 at Kansas City Jackson Co MO, who survives, as well as do two stepchildren, Barbara Collins of West Plains and Eugene Lewallen of Liberty MO, a brother, Jack Collins of Augusta GA, five sisters, Zettie Storms of West Plains, Dola Collins of Ravenden Springs AR, Vergie Morris of Rock AR, Lena Pennington of Elizabethtown KY and Opal Banks of Paola IN; 7 step grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Cleo & Everett, and three sisters, Odie, Eva Kollings and Aline Phenix. She was of the Pentecostal faith. FAYE CUNNINGHAM LONG - Age 93, West Plains - Graveside services were held on Sunday, March 2, 2008, at the Howell Memorial park Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mrs. Long died at 1:10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, in NHC HealthCare. She was born Oct. 28, 1914, near Twin Bridges, Mo., to Charles and Cora Gilbert Cunningham. On Oct. 14, 1932, she was married to Irvin Bunch who preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 1971. On August 19, 1976, she was married at Crider, Mo., to Loys Long, who preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1988. Mrs. Long enjoyed gardening and cooking; no one could make chicken and dumplings like Granny. She loved her family and was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by one daughter, Lillie M. Carroll; 11 grandchildren, Connie Carte Dwayne Bunch, Wanda Wilbanks, Verlin Bunch, Donna Masner, Susie Bunch, Claude Bunch Jr., Belinda Eldringhoff, Debbie Beavers, Renea Ostermiller and Eric Bunch; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Naomi Painter and Linda Cummings; three sisters, Maye Thornton, Ora Collins and Mildren Johnson and many nieces and nephews. Her parents; husbands; four sons, Ralph, Claude, Floyd and Ernie Bunch; one granddaughter, Genise Bunch; two sisters, Zora Bunch and Stella Warren and two brothers, Lloyd and John Cunningham, precede her in death. Cleo Clifton Lovan - Age 74, Tucson, Arizona., Graveside services were held noon, February 15, 2000 at Golden Gate National Cemetery. Mr. Lovan died February 12, 2000, in Arizona after an unexpected illness. He was born August 25 1925, in Willow Springs, Mo to Emmert L and Nancy (Turnbull) Lovan. He moved to Vallejo, California in 1966 and opened the first of many transmission shops. His first shop was A. C. Transmissions and his most popular shop was Leo's Transmissions. He served the people of Vallejo and Bay Area for 20 years before retiring to Tucson, where he lived for more than 10 years. Mr. Lovan enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943, serving as the ship's cook Third Class during World War II. He served on three different ships that sank and he earned many commendations, including the Philippine Liberation (2stars),the Asiatic Pacific (3 stars) and the Victory Medal of World War II. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Trujillo, Vacaville, Calif., and Beverly Davis, Tucson; one son, Marty Jay Lovan, Tucson; and six grandchildren, Eric and William Trujillo, Corey Davis, Tonya Lovan, Mary Jay Lovan, and Cleo Clifton Lovan III. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Barker) Lovan, his son, Cleo C Lovan, Jr.; and two brothers, Art Lovan and Raymon Lovan.

LILLIAN M LOVAN - Aug. 24, 1913 - Nov. 18, 2005 - Wife of Harry Lovan. Memorial service held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, at Trinity Baptist Church, Willow Springs. All who had known Lil were invited to attend her graduation to glory. A private family graveside service was held at Willow Springs City Cemetery. PAUL LOVAN - Apr. 12, 1923 - Dec. 7, 2006 - Son of Earl Lovan and Isabelle Brower. Born at Hebron Douglas Co MO; died at Howell Co MO. Married Ruby Mae Thompson Oct. 4, 1948 at Mountain Home Baxter Co AR. Father of Jane (m. Stanley Taylor) and Ronnie Lee Lovan. Brother of Lois Brown Collins, Doris Mayberry and Lula Johnson. He was employed with the West Plains cheese plant for 30 years. Arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.

RAYMON WILLIAM LOVAN - Died August 30, 1995 in Fresno CA. He was born April 25, 1922 at Willow Springs MO to Emmert L. and Nancy Turnbull Lovan. He has lived in Fresno since 1960. He was a retired Auto Mechanic and worked at Ford and Chevrolet dealerships for many years with his last employment at Turpins Furniture. He was a veteran of World War II with service in the Philippines. He was very proud of his service to his country and was a member of the DAV and several other Veterans organizations. After retirement, Raymon became an avid genealogist and traced his family lines back to 1670 when the first Lovan came to America from England. He was one of the main contributors of information to a book about his family called 'The Loving Family in America' by Carl Read. He is survived by his wife Norene; children, Phyllis Jura and husband Gregory; Murlene Carcia and husband Tim, all of Fresno, and Donald and wife Sheila of Hanford. He also has three cherished grandchildren, Michelle Garcia and Michael and Matthew Lovan, and brother Cleo Lovan. A graveside service will be held at Clovis Cemetery on Tuesday, September 5, 1995 at 9 a.m. Visitation will be at Boice Funeral Home on Sunday and Monday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Janella Griffin Lovins - Age 91, West Plains - Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mrs. Lovins died 12:34 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at her daughter’s home in Raymore, Mo. She was born Aug. 15, 1917, in Elijah, Mo., to Willis and Lena Westmoreland Griffin.   She was married at West Plains, Mo., to Lonnie Lovins who preceded her in death. On April 28, 1939, Janella graduated from Gertrude Beauty School of Springfield, Mo., and has owned and operated Janella’s Beauty Nook in West Plains for over 69 years. She trained and mentored many beautician apprentices and had been a help and encouragement to many.  Also, Janella treated her patrons to “Queen for a Day” on their 90th birthday. She was West Plains’ only distributor of Merle Norman Cosmetics for over forty years. Janella was a member of the National Hair Dressers Association, a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Association for over 40 years and was a Honorary member for life of the West Plains Area Chamber of Commerce.  She was a member of the Curry Street Church of Christ. She is survived by three daughters, Betty Yoder, Ann McClintock, husband, Tony, and Debbie Simmons, husband, Robert; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents; husband; one child, Clifford Kentner; one grandchild, Vince Kentner; one sister, Wanda Finley; and one brother, Gene Griffin, precede her in death. Visitation will be from noon until service time at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oak Lawn Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Riverways Hospice and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

TOMMY LOVINS - Age 70, Pomona - Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2007, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Lovins died 9:10 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2007, at his home. He was born Sept. 6, 1936, in West Plains, Mo., to Harve and Bessie Harring Lovins. He graduated from West Plains High School, and on Aug. 17, 1956, was married at West Plains to Mona Charlene Lovan, who preceded him in death Sept. 12, 1997. Mr. Lovins was a veteran, having served with the Missouri Army National Guard, and before his retirement worked in the plumbing and sheet metal industry. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses and drove cars for Auto World. Mr. Lovins was of the Baptist faith and had attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He is survived by his son, Timothy Lee Lovins, wife, Shelly, Pomona; three grandchildren, Jessica Kenslow, husband, Jeff, West Plains, Mitch Lovins, West Plains, and Tyler Lovins, Pomona; two great-grandchildren, Emily Kenslow and Kelsey Kenslow; his mother, Bessie Lovins, West Plains; and one sister, Shirlene Collins. His father; wife; and one sister, Peggy, preceded him in death. Mr. Lovins will lie in state from 4 p.m. Thursday until 1 p.m. Friday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. COLUMBUS THEODORE LOWE - Son of the late Andrew N. Lowe and Nancy Lee Dean, was born March 6, 1886 in Union Co GA, and departed this life Saturday morning, June 5, 1971, in his home West Plains MO, at the age of 85 years, two months and 30 days. On September 25, 1912, in Dayton WA, he was united in marriage to Minnie Mabel Edmonds. To this union 4 children were born. She preceded him in death July 21, 1966. On December 28, 1969 in Pomona MO, he was married to Beulah Ramsey, who survives him. Survivors include his wife Beulah Lowe of the home, West Plains MO; one son, Raymond Lowe, Thayer MO; and one brother, Jeff Lowe, West Plains MO; two grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a retired Railroad First Class Machinist of the Frisco Railroad. ELBERT 'LEVERN' LYNCH - Of Birch Tree, Missouri, died April 29, 1999 at Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri. Levern was born on June 1, 1921 to William David Lee LYNCH and Bertha Gertrude YOUNGER at Alley Spring, Missouri. He married Bonnie THOMAS on March 30, 1946 in Eminence, Missouri and to this union were born three daughters: Charlotte, Brenda and Connie. Levern served his country in the United States Army in World War II. During this service he was awarded two Bronze Service Stars, the Good Conduct Medal and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He was employed by Kerr-McGee Corporation as a timber buyer and worked for them until his retirement. Levern enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and being outdoors. He loved his family and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend. Lavern enjoyed taking care of others and it was difficult for him to let people take care of him. To all those individuals, the family says 'thank you.' Survivors include his wife, Bonnie; three daughters: Charlotte HUNT of eminence, Missouri; Brenda STRAIN and husband, Clint, of Chanute, Kansas; and Connie YARBER and husband, Glen, of Festus, Missouri; two sisters, Margaret MENDENHALL and Jewell BOOTHBY; seven grandchildren: Becky WAGONER, Robert and Randall HUNT, Jennifer and Michael STRAIN, Nathan and Shawna YARBER; and three great- grandchildren: Koltt and Kammi HUNT and Amanda NAIL. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Delbert LYNCH, Sherman LYNCH, and an infant brother; and a son-in- law, Robert HUNT. Funeral services were held Monday, May 3, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of God of Prophecy, Birch Tree, Missouri with Bro. Bud YOUNGER officiating.
