Cynthia June Dickerson Abeda - Born July 31, 1953 in St. Joseph, MO. She passed away January 20, 2008 at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, MO at the age of 54 years, 5 months and 20 days. Cindy was the daughter of William C. (Bill), and June Alice (Copeland) Dickerson. She was welcomed with love and pride for their beautiful child. Cindy was a spiritual girl and woman, who loved all of God's beautiful things. Flowers and cats were her passions. Cindy was preceded in death by her grandmother, Margaret Copeland; grandfather Lewis Copeland; and mother June Alice Dickerson. She leaves behind her father and stepmother William and Darla Dickerson of Mountain View, MO; son Jason King of Kansas City, MO; daughter Shameriah King-Arzt of Mountain View, MO; son Jordan Abeda of Olathe, KS; three grandchildren, Sidney Michael King, Tye Ashton King and Reese Gabrielle Gilbert. Olie Aline Kelly Abbott - Daughter of Ivy KELLY and Amanda Arvilla BRESSLER KELLY, was born May 31, 1934 in Shannon County, Missouri and passed away at the St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View, MO, Friday, October 12, 2007 making her age 73 years. Aline was united in marriage to Richard ‘Dick’ Abbott. They were not blessed with children, but loved their nieces and nephews. She was raised in the Catholic Faith. Aline loved cats, television, family, friends, and dancing. One of the highlights of her life was meeting Elvis in a dance hall in Arkansas, when she and her sister Merceline were celebrating her coming out of the children's home. She is preceded in death by her father Ivy KELLY, mother Amanda SHOUP, brothers, Damon KELLY, Buster KELLY, Simon SHOUP, and sister Merceline LEE. Surviving are one sister Stella May WALTERS of Lone Dale, MO; sister-in-law Darlene SHOUP of Mountain View, MO and brother-in-law Bob LEE of Summersville, MO and many nieces and nephews. LLOYD ROBERT ABNEY - GRAVESIDE SERVICES HELD FOR INFANT SON OF LLOYD ABNEYS - A graveside service was held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock in Howell Valley Cemetery for Lloyd Robert Abney, six day old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Abney of West Plains, whose death occurred Friday night in Christa Hogan Hospital. The infant was born prematurely - and weighed only two pounds, six ounces at birth. Rev. W. L. Abney officiated at the service with the Robertson Funeral Home in charge of burial. ROBERT FULTON ACKLIN - Apr. 24, 1906 - Dec. 19, 1990 - Funeral services for Robert Fulton Acklin, 84, West Plains, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, 1990, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains, with the Rev. Joe Bean officiating. Mr. Acklin died at 12:52 a.m. today, Dec. 19, 1990, in Ozarks Medical Center. He was born April 24, 1906, in Douglas County, the son of Thomas Henry and Ida Mary Greenway Acklin. He received his education at the Galloway School at West Plains. On May 2, 1930, he was married to Oma Coble who preceded him in death Feb. 14, 1951. On March 13, 1957, he was married at West Plains to Bertha Marie (Hall) Nolte. Mr. Acklin was the first groundskeeper at the West Plains Country Club. He was a carpenter and before his retirement had been employed with the street department for the city of West Plains. Survivors include his wife, Marie Acklin, West Plains; seven children, Donald Acklin; Helen Stanley and husband Dick; June Johnston, all of West Plains; Robert Acklin and wife Connie, Hawaii; Judy Acklin, Nevada; Ronald Acklin and wife Marsha, Sedalia; and Danny Acklin and wife Hazel, West Plains; three step children, Laura McVickers and husband Will, Summersville; Paul, Vienna; and J. D. Nolte, Oran; 18 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; several step grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Fancher, Estacada, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, two great grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters. Burial will be in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains.

Jimmie Joanna Pruett Adams - Age 75, West Plains, Mo., Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, at Amy Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mrs. Adams died 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, in West Vue Nursing Center. She was born Sept. 2, 1931, in Hocomo, Mo., to John Vernon and Nannie May Fare Pruett.  She graduated from Bakersfield High School, Bakersfield, Mo., with the class of 1948. In 1955, she was married to Lyle Taffar. On Aug. 6, 1990, she was married to Robert Adams, who preceded her in death Dec. 6, 2005.  Mrs. Adams had been a telephone operator and was a seamstress, owning her own sewing service. She was a Baptist and had attended the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church, Gainesville, Mo. She is survived by three children, Elaine Taffar and Leland Ray Taffar, wife, Penny, San Ingnacio, Belize, and Ralph Lee Taffar, wife, Cheryl, Harrison, Ark.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, William M. Pruett, wife, Greta, and Lonnie Pruett, West Plains, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, husband, and one granddaughter precede her in death. LOIS ADAMS - Age 85, Mammoth Spring AR - Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer.  Mrs. Adams died today, Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at Ozarks Medical Center, West Plains. CORA KATE MUMFORD AID - Age 89, West Plains - Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in All Saints Episcopal Church with Rev. Dan Brigham officiating. Mrs. Aid died at 6:10 a.m. Sunday at West Plains Memorial Hospital. She was born Sep. 24, 1889, at Farlinville KS, the daughter of the late Ezra Dew and Louisa Griggs Mumford. She came to West Plains in 1906 and on Jan. 26, 1910, she was married here to Joe Richard Aid, who preceded her in death Jul. 12, 1967. Survivors include two sons, Joe R. Aid, Jr., West Plains; Charles E. Aid, Farmers Branch TX; six grandchildren, Joe Aid, III, Hutchison KS; Mrs. Patricia Rogers and C. Toney Aid, West Plains; Barbara Braswell, Janice Mitchell and Charles Aid, all of Denver CO; eight great grandchildren; a niece, Mrs. Nadine Saunders, Roanoke VA; and three nephews, Joe D. Mumford, Waynesville; Jack Mumford, St Charles, and Dewey Brown, Philadelphia MS. The family would appreciate memorials in Mrs. Aid's name to All Saints Episcopal Church. Frankie Lester 'FRANK' Akers - Age 57, son of Vernon Lester Akers and Beulah Beatrice Young Akers Franklin, was born Nov. 19, 1947, at Colorado Springs, Colo. He died May 30, 2005, at Baxter Regional Medical Center at Mountain Home, Ark. He attended Raymondville School, graduated from Houston High School and attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield. He married Phyllis Lea Smith Dec. 31, 1982, at West Plains. Mr. Akers was a food broker and later a salesman for Coca-Cola Bottling Co. For the last five years, he was area manager for Pepsi Mid-America of Marion, Ill. He was president of the West Plains parks and recreation board for seven years and was on the board of West Plains City Pride. His hobbies were camping, baseball cards and music. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father. Surviving are his wife of the home at West Plains; three children, Michael Morgan Akers of Oceanside, Calif., Morgan Nicole Akers of West Plains and Angelina Dawn Akers of the home; his mother of West Plains; one stepbrother, Jim Franklin of Kansas City; and one granddaughter. Services are 11 o'clock today (Thursday) at the First Baptist Church in West Plains. Burial will be in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Theresa M. Strong Alcantar - Entered into rest on Friday, May 9, 2008, at her home in Willow Springs, Mo. Born March 27, 1940, to Calvin and Gertrude Strong, she was 68 years old. She was married to Antonio Alcantar on June 12, 1969. She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Willow Springs for seven years. She had many enjoyments in her life; however, having her family around her was very important to her. She gave of herself unselfishly, always putting others needs above and before her own. A precious gift only she could give that touched the lives of so many around her. Mrs. Alcantar is survived by her husband, Tony Alcantar, Willow Springs; her mother, Gertrude R. Brooks, Willow Springs; two sons, Tony Hudson, Willow Springs, and Christopher Hudson and wife, Terry, Gassville, Ark.; two daughters, Rosemary Anderson and husband, Ragnar, Cherokee Village, Ark., and Melissa Russell and husband, Terry, Carthage Mo. She is further survived by 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many more that considered her their own grandmother and more. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 19, 2008, at Seventh-day Adventist Church at East Fourth and N. Walnut Streets in Willow Springs. Audrey Lucille Nichols Aldridge - Age 73, was born September 20, 1934 in Texas County, MO to George Nichols and Opal Beasley. She went to be with her Lord April 18, 2008. She grew up in the Pine Creek area and attended Willow Springs School. On April 5, 1952 she married Oral Aldridge. To this union, seven children were born. She was preceded in death by her father, George Nichols; Mother, Opal Nichols Adkins; brother, Elmer Nichols; step father, Harvey Adkins; husband, Oral; one son, Danny Joe; grandson Heath McAlister; and three sisters, Ocie, Virginia and Norma. She is survived by her children: Rosemary Mooney of Elk Creek; Dee and wife Julie, of Elk Creek; Jeanie McAlister and husband, John of Piedmont; Wayne Aldridge of Houston; Annette Hartman and husband, Brian, of Houston; and Patty Aldridge of Houston; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Georgia Lynch of Mtn. Grove, and Phyllis Adkins of Mansfield; two brothers, Donald Adkins of Prineville, Oregon and Vaughn Nichols of Golden City; two daughters-in-law, Nancy Foster and husband, Don, of Houston; Cindy Flanagan and husband, Dale, of Cabool; one son-in-law, Bill Mooney, of Mtn. Grove, MO; and a host of family and friends. Audrey enjoyed going to church, studying the Bible, reading and many types of hand work. She crocheted and did many pieces of needlepoint, which she gave to family and friends. They were wonderful gifts given to those she loved and cherished. The best times of her life were spent with her family. She touched many lives with her generous heart and loving spirit. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Anna May Miller Allen - Age 85, daughter of Virgil O. and Rosa Anna Garlett Miller, was born Feb. 27, 1923, at Cabool. She died April 25, 2008, at Texas County Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Allen grew up in the Cabool area, attending grade school at Sargent and Pea Ridge. She graduated from Cabool High School in 1940. She attended SMS and began teaching in 1942 in the rural schools of Howell and Texas counties. She received her bachelor's degree in social science from Drury University in Springfield and taught from 1942 to '47 at Stony Point, Lebanon and Union schools. She married Walter Allen March 1, 1947. They had three children. Mrs. Allen was a stay-at-home mother for several years. In 1952, she began teaching at rural schools including Houston, Victor, Freely Give, Lone Star, Logan, Elk Creek and Willow Springs. After 18 years, she started at Houston  Elementary in the fall of 1967. She retired July 1, 1979, after 12 years for a total teaching career of 31 years in Howell and Texas counties. She was baptized at an early age and was a member of the Mount Pisgah Church. She later moved her membership to Solid Rock General Baptist Church near Willow Springs. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 147 Auxiliary of Cabool. She loved taking care of her grandchildren, playing games and reading to them. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sept. 29, 1990; one brother, Wayne Miller; and a granddaughter. Surviving are her children, Gary Walter Allen and Nita May Moore of Cabool and Rita Ann Williams of Houston; two sisters, Jewel Wagner and Naomi Wisdom of Willow Springs; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Services were April 28 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Paul Hamm and the Rev. Bill Vandivort officiating. Burial was in the Union Cemetery. BASIL LEON ANDERSON - Age 67, West Plains - Funeral services were held at the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains, with Rev. Gerald Bruner officiating. Mr. Anderson died at West Plains Memorial Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was born at Haviland KS, Feb. 17, 1908, the son of the late William Franklin and Adele Morey Anderson. He came to this county with his parents at the age of seven years, receiving his education in the schools of Howell County. He had been engaged in farming until forced to retire due to ill health. On Dec. 3, 1931, he was married at West Plains to Doris J. Collins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Collins. He has been a member of the Baptist Church for more than 40 years, with his membership being in the New Liberty Baptist Church near West Plains. Mr. Anderson had served for many years as director of the Pleasant Point and Vienna School Boards in Howell County. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Doris Anderson of the home; four children, Ila Dickey, Bartlesville OK; Lyle Anderson, Paducah KY; Eula Rowden, Eminence MO, and Loretta Parrott, Fenton MO; 11 grandchildren and 7 brothers and sisters, Jess Anderson, Drumright OK; George Anderson, Jackson MS; Guy Anderson, St Louis MO; Rev. Joe Anderson, West Vue Nursing Home, West Plains MO; Mrs. Frances Pitman, Pomona MO; Mrs. Nellie Cook, Tahlequah OK, and Alene Huff, St Charles MO. Mrs. Anderson died at Stormont Vale Hospital in Topeka KS. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Vida Henry and Mrs. Geraldine Hood, both of Willow Springs, and Mrs. Katheryn Evans, Topeka KS; two sisters, Mrs. Jane Martin, Willow Springs and Mrs. Cassie Reynolds, West Plains; a brother, Earl Wheeler, Pomona MO; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. JOHN D. ANDERSON - Age 49, Camden AR, formerly of West Plains - Funeral services held at Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains.  Mr. Anderson died at Quachita County Hospital at Camden AR. He was born at Walnut Ridge AR, Sep. 12, 1926, the son of the late Jerry Anderson and Mrs. Annie Groce Anderson of Thayer MO. He came to West Plains in early childhood, receiving his education in the schools here. In 1943 he was married at West Plains to Lela Judd. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Annie Anderson, Thayer MO; four children, Truman Anderson, San Diego CA; Larry Joe Anderson, Seattle WA; Wanda Lee Anderson, Salina CA; and Cathy Anderson, Pendleton OR; two grandchildren and two sisters and brothers, Clyde Anderson, Thayer MO; Lola Thomas, Walnut Ridge AR; Truly Hill, Camden AR, and Lester Anderson Camden AR. Interment was in the family plot at Oak Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, West Plains.

MABEL L. THOMAS ANDERSON - Daughter of the late Joe Thomas and Nancy Turner Lovins, was born in Howell Co MO Nov. 10, 1906. Entered into rest Mar. 22, 1972 at the age of 65 years. On Jun. 10, 1923 she was married at West Plains MO to the Rev. Joe Anderson, who survives her, as do two daughters, Mrs. Wova Harris of Mission KS and Mrs. Floyd Weaver, residing in the state of Kansas. There are 6 grandchildren surviving, two brothers and one sister, Harve C. Lovins, West Plains MO, John Lovins and Mrs. Carl Turner, both of Pomona MO. Preceding Mrs. Anderson in death are her parents, a daughter, two brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Anderson has been a member of the Baptist Church since early womanhood, her membership being in Friendship Baptist Church. She had been a member of the Rebeckah Lodge for a number of years. Margaret Lucinda Lee Anderson  - Feb. 27, 1854 - Jan. 17, 1917 - Wife of James Ancerson and the daughter of  John Conway Jefferson Lee & Elizabeth Eddings. She and James had 7 children: James Monroe, Serena Elizabeth, Nellie Jane, Pearl Matilda, Adolphus A. 'Dolph', Hattie E. and Arthur Rufus Anderson. She is buried beside her husband at Chapel Hill Cemetery.

MARTHA JANE SMITH ANDERSON - Born January 7, 1930 to Aaron R. Smith and Lottie Ann (Winningham) Smith at Mountain View, Missouri. She passed away June 23, 2006 at Springfield, Missouri at the age of 76 years. She was united in marriage to Leslie W. Anderson on January 2, 1949 at Summersville, Missouri and to this union two children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron R. and Lottie Ann Smith. She is survived by her husband Leslie W. Anderson of Summersville, Missouri; her son Dickie Anderson of Mountain View, Missouri; her daughter, Ann Miller and husband C.L. of West Plains, Missouri; four grandchildren Brent Anderson and wife Gina of Mountain View, Missouri; Kip Anderson and wife Lindsay of Lexington, Kentucky; Jessica Schiwitz and husband Josh of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; and Erica Miller of Springfield, Missouri; four great grandchildren, Mackenzie Anderson, Ashley Taylor Schiwitz, Jaden Anderson and Riley Anderson; one brother Neal Smith and wife Jane of Adrian, Missouri; one aunt Mattie J. Wells of Mountain View, Missouri; and one uncle, Robert F. Smith of Summersville, Missouri. She worked at Padgett Hardware in Mountain View in her early years. She retired in 1995 from Angelica Image Apparel after nearly 40 years of service. She attended Midvale Pentecostal Holiness Church in Summersville. She enjoyed embroidering, quilting, cooking holiday dinners and spending time with her family. She was always ready and willing to serve others when the need arose. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbor and will forever be missed. Although she is gone from this world, she left footprints that will never be removed from our hearts and memories. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Mountain View, Missouri. Patton Richard Anderson - Age 64, West Plains MO - Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Anderson died 2:05 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at West Plains. He was born Nov. 28, 1943, in Shreveport, La., to Jay and Dorothy Bashore Anderson. He is survived by his companion, Shirley Mondragon, of the family home; four children, Barbara Couch and Robert, David Warnes and wife, Patsy, Susan Anderson and husband, Dale, and Josephine Mondragon, all of West Plains; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; his mother, Dorothy Anderson, Denver, Colo.; and four sisters, Sonia Morgan, Derae Neill, Jaydean Anderson and Ramona Nester, all of Denver, Colo. SHIRLEY ROSE FISK ANDERSON - Daughter of Benjamin Turl Fisk and Anna Elizabeth Knight Fisk, was born June 18, 1934 at Venice, Illinois and passed away at Cox Medical Center on Saturday morning, May 20, 2000 make her age 65 years 11 months and 28 days. She was united in marriage to Hugh N. Anderson August 1, 1959 making their union together 42 years.  To their union two children were born, Anna Elizabeth Anderson Crabtree and Hugh Neil Anderson Jr. Shirley became a member of the Order of Eastern Star Summersville Chapter 363 April 14, 1989 and was a member of Summersville United Methodist Church for many years.  She was a housewife and mother.  Shirley loved to sing and enjoyed music.  She especially loved to be  with her grandchildren who she loved very much.  She enjoyed animals and liked to watch them play.  Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, Charles Ernest Fisk, Sr., Robert Hardford Fisk, Benjamin Turl Fisk Jr., Lawarren Kenyon Fisk and sister Bonnie Virginia Fisk Harbarch. Surviving are her husband Hugh Anderson of Mountain View Health Car, Mountain View, MO; two children, Anna Crabtree, Hugh Anderson Jr. and wife Gwen, five grandchildren; Benjamin Levi Crabtree, Lydia Cecile Crabtree, Dustin, Derrick and Tiffany Pobst, all of Summersville, MO, one brother Ty Fisk and wife Fannie of Madison, Illinois, and one sister Betty Sue Gay of Granite City, Illinois. Jack Andrews - Age 77, Koshkonong MO - Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, at Cave Springs Cemetery, Oregon County, Mo., with the Rev. Dion Prewett officiating. He was born the son of the late Amos Andrews and Rose Ellen Stockstill Andrews, on July 9, 1930, in Alton, Mo., and died Sept. 27, 2007, in Springfield, Mo. He is survived by three children, Jackie Wade, husband, Ricke, of West Plains, Glen Andrews, wife Jo, of Kansas City, Mo., and Keith Andrews, wife Shirley, of Kansas City, Mo.; four stepchildren, Mike Ruff, wife Arlene, of Kansas City, Mo., Connie Shelton of West Plains, Steve Ruff of West Plains, and Susie Thompson, husband Dennis, of Batesville, Ark.; one brother, Glen Andrews of St. Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos Andrews and Rose Ellen Stockstill Andrews; and two brothers, Gene Andrews and Laverne Andrews. Military rites were performed by the Missouri Military Funeral Honors and the West Plains Honor Guard. Burial was in Cave Springs Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

CITY'S ONE-TIME PRODIGY, DIES - BROUGHT TO THE UNITED STATES BY P. T. BARNUM AT THE AGE OF TWELVE YEARS.  P. T. BARNUM BECAME INTERESTED IN THE YOUNG MUSICIAN IN LOOKING OVER EUROPE FOR MATERIAL TO BE USED IN THE BARNUM SHOWS, AND RECOGNIZING THE TALENT OF THE YOUNG ARTIST, BROUGHT HIM TO AMERICA AT THE AGE OF TWELVE YEARS, WHERE HE REMAINED WITH THE SHOW FOR SEVERAL YEARS AS A HARPIST IN CONCERT WORK. HIS REAL NAME WAS JOSEPH ANTONIO ZOTTARELLE, BUT AFTER COMING TO THE UNITED STATES THE FIRST PART OF HIS SURNAME WAS DROPPED AND HE USED THE NAME OF ARELL BY WHICH HE WAS KNOWN THROUGH THE YEARS.

Ralph Lee Arl - Son of the late Ola Patterson Arl and Lewis Arl was born at Sweetwater, Missouri on January 24, 1930. He departed this life at his residence in Eminence, Missouri, on November 20, 2007, having attained the age of 77 years, nine months and 27 days. On August 15, 1953, Ralph was united in marriage to Glenna Grogan. Ralph later married Joyce Mitchell on March 28, 1969, she preceded him in death on December 29, 1994. Ralph loved working with wood, he built cabinets, stools and anything made of wood. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Michael Lee Arl. Ralph is survived by his special friend, Nan McClanahan of Eminence, Missouri, three daughters, Glenda Rosa and husband Stephen of Richwoods, Texas, Rhonda Crafton and husband David of St. Louis, Missouri, Susan Glaus of Perryville, Missouri. Four Stepchildren: Tommy McClanahan of Eminence, Missouri, Jeff McClanahan of Mountain View, Missouri, David McClanahan of Ellington, Missouri, Jessy Huett of Mountain View, Missouri. Two brothers: Jim Arl of Rolla, Missouri and Walter Arl of Corridon, Missouri. Four sisters: Ruth Gray of Corridon, Missouri, Grace Johnson of Salem, Missouri, Martha Baker and Edith Callahan both of Ellington, Missouri. Nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Five step grandchildren. Ralph is also survived by special employee, Chink. Ralph will be deeply missed by his family and many friends who will mourn his passing. Funeral services were held at the McSpadden Funeral Home in Ellington, Missouri on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating was Marvin Richards and Burial was at the Polk Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were Steve Arl, Keith Arl, Kevin Arl, David Arl, Jim Arl and Bruce Callahan. Sandra Kay 'Sandy' Claxton Arnold - Age 60, Woodland Hills CA - Daughter of Jean Claxton Wilson, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, in the UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles CA.  Graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Liver Foundation and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Arrangements under direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home of West Plains.

William Henry Arnold - 1847 - 1894 - Son of William Henry Arnold, Sr. and Mary 'Polly' Shockley. Grandson of Thompson Arnold and Susannah Holland. He was born in Indiana and died in Howell Co  MO and is buried at Cureall Cemetery at Cureall Howell Co MO.  He married Malissa Ann Cobler in Shelby Co IN Jun. 23, 1869. She died Nov. 12, 1897 and is buried at Fairland Cemetery at Fairland Shelby Co IN.  They were the parents of eight children: Bridda, William Lewis, Dora, Charles David, Mary K., John T., Ruth L. and George Washington Arnold, all born in Indiana before the bought land and began to make their home in Howell Co MO. He was about age 47 when he died.  He served in the Union Army during the Civil War. He enlisted at the age of 16 into I Company, 51st Indiana Infantry on Sep. 1, 1863, and mustered out Dec. 13, 1865.

Floyada Margetta 'Flo' Blurton ARVIN - Born July 24, 1908 at Pittsburg, KS., the daughter of Alfred and Ethel Draper Blurton and departed this life on Aug. 15, 1989 at the home of her granddaughter, Marie Jenkins in Queen City, TX., at the age of 81 years, and 22 days. She was married to Samuel Otis Arvin on Oct. 31, 1926 and to this union 10 children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, and two sons. She is survived by three daughters, Lila Hopkins and husband, Arnold of Oil City, LA., Thelma Alexander of Mountain View, MO. And Eve Arvin of Queen City, TX,; five sons, Sam and wife, Della of Kansas City, Ks., Bill and wife Sue, of Bossier City, LA., Howard and wife Sandy of Kansas City KS., Donald of Queen City, TX. And Joe Arvin of Rolla, MO.; 35 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and two great great grandsons; two sisters, Opal Robards of Jay, OK. and Elizabeth Collins of Wichita, Ks.; and a host of other relives and friends. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Graveside services were held Fri. Aug. 18 at 10 a.m. in the Montier Cemetery under the direction of the Duncan Funeral home of Birch Tree.

Ruby 'Hazel' miller Atkinson - Age 92, died Friday, April 18, 2008. She was born May 30, 1915, in Mtn. Home, Ark. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nobel, in January 2008; her parents, William and Florence Miller; four brothers; and three sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Nolene Roberts of Panama City, Fla.; a son, David and wife, Debbie, of Minneapolis, Kan.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Roselawn Heights Memorial Chapel, 1920 E. Crawford, Salina. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the chapel. Memorials may be made to The Faith Free Will Baptist Church, 611 Willis, Salina.
