Greene / Green: a Preston porch in the album
Sometimes the town enters the story sideways—through a caption under a front porch, or a grocery doorway, or a sister's married name in the next frame.
The Green family photo set already on this site includes a clear Preston anchor: the home of John and Myrtle Greene at Preston, Missouri, plus related frames (Tom and Jim Greene, Wiley and Mae Bonner's Preston grocery, Howard and Lona Bandel— Myrtle's sister—and more). Spelling drifts between Green and Greene the way Ozark ink often does; the faces do not.
World War II Index notes also place sons of John Greene(s) of Preston in service— another thread tying this household to the town's mid-century life.
This page is not meant to replace the longer Green family archive pages already under Families. It is a Preston-angled lede: when telling backbone stories for the highway-crossroads village, the Greenes belong in that circle with millers, teachers, and storekeepers.
