The BOONE family seemed to be all over the state of MISSOURI. But the ones I am
presently interested in are the ones who settled in the southeastern portion of
   MISSOURI.

To that area they brought their families whom established roots which still exist
today. One such BOONE is CALVIN WATSON BOONE; my children’s great-great-great
grandfather. It has been several years now since I first started me researching the
family of Calvin; but time has not made my search for his family any easier. I have
not been able to find the records I need in finding just which BOONE family he
   belongs.

I have in times of frustration turned my research to one of the other Boons or Boones
I have found also connected to the southeastern portion of Missouri. Hoping in
someway I will be able to find a family relation between them and Calvin Watson
Boone. But to date I have not been able to find any.

I felt surely for all of them to be connected to that area of Missouri, they must be
related…but then I came by some very interesting history on the southeastern portion
of Missouri about the great earthquakes around 1811 and 1812 which caused death to
just about everyone in the area.

Congress feared the area would end up totally in the hands of the indians, so they
developed land grants, and those who had damaged property from the earthquakes would
qualify to claim land in the area. This was called the “New Madrid Earthquake
   Claims”.

I also read somewhere there was a big move to the area by pioneers from various
states looking for new prosperity…a new beginning. For this reason my theory that all
the Boons and Boones locating in the southeastern portion of Missouri surely must be
related; seems more now to be just coincidence.

Nonetheless, I still feel just maybe Calvin Watson Boone may be related to at least
one if I am lucky. So I am continuing my researching the ancestry of each one,
feeling it may lead me to Calvin’s as well.

It is a glamorous thought ones Boons or Boones may be  related to DANIEL BOONE, the
pioneer. But I would just like to find some documentation or records…anything that
would lead me to the correct family Calvin Waton Boone is from.

There are many reasons we cannot find the information needed. For the most part, our
ancestors failed to record the family’s genealogy; not knowing just how important it
would be to all of us. But in their time keeping such records was least important, as
most had many hardships in their daily lives.

With threat of Indian attack, our ancestors often had to pickup and move out of harms
way very quickly. And their necessities were the most important things to take. In
many cases they did not keep genealogy records on their families. I am sure many of
the ones that were kept became misplaced or could even been discarded. Many official
records were lost through fires, floods and other circumstances.

I am attempting to create this journal listing all the Boons and Boones along with
the family of CALVIN WATSON BOONE which I have found connected in some manner to the
   southeast portion of MISSOURI.

I will try and cover each one of them now starting with the descending family of
   CALVIN WATSON BOONE.

CALVIN WATSON  BOONE was probably born sometime between 1800 to 1830, but this is
based on the fact his son JAMES ALBERT BOONE was born in 1848.  He married “Unknown”
HAMM.  I believe her first name could be MARY as that is the name of his wife shown
in one of the census records he was listed in. Know nothing more for sure on her.

CALVIN WATSON BOONE  was listed as WATSON BOON in the 1840 HARDIN CO. TENNESSE
Federal  Census. His nearby neighbors were the families of JOHN RIDDLE, THOMAS DOWDY,
   MANASSEY BUCHANAN and HENRY HAGY.

CALVIN WATSON BOONE was also listed in the 1850 McNAIRY CO. TENNESSE Census. In that
census he was shown at the age of 39 years and born in ALABAMA. That would make him
born abt. 1811. His wife was listed as “MARY” age 36 and born in VIRGINIA. I found
the fact CALVIN BOONE’s family was in the 1840 HARDIN CO. TENNESSE Census  and then
in the 1850 McNAIRY CO. TENNESSE Census because in 1849 a portion of HARDIN CO.
   became McNAIRY CO. around ADAMSVILLE.

Further interesting is the fact that HIRAM BOONE b. 1776 was listed in the 1820
HARDIN CO. Census. HIRAM BOONE descends from an uncle of DANIEL BOONE. HIRAM was
married to LUCY A. SMITH who was listed as "Head-of-Household" in the 1830 HARDIN CO.
TENNESSE Census, HIRAM BOONE had died in 1826.

HIRAM and LUCY ANN had a daughter MARY BOONE, but an IGI record shows a son born to
them in 1800 in COLUMBIA, ADAIR CO. KENTUCKY. However the record did not give a name
for the son, nor did it give any clue as to whether the son lived or was deceased. I
have not found any further reference to him. I have wondered if possibly that son
could have been CALVIN WATSON BOONE.

I  can not find where CALVIN BOONE migrated to between the years 1850 and 1870. But
there was a “WATSON” BOON listed in the 1870 ELK TWP.  STODDARD CO. MISSOURI Census.
I am not sure if this is CALVIN WATSON BOONE or possibly his son, CALVIN JR. as he
would have been abt. 20  years old by then.

But either way, CALVIN’s descending family was located in the southeastern portion of
MISSOURI by then because a grandson, JAMES RICHARD BOONE was born there in 1870.

CALVIN SR.s  son, JAMES ALBERT BOONE was listed on the 1880 ELK TWP.  STODDARD CO.
MISSOURI Census. That census states his father and his mother were born  in TENNESSE.
So I am not sure where CALVIN SR. was actually born; ALABAMA, TENNESSE or possibly
   another state.

I have tried to find family background on MARY HAMM. There was a JOHN ANDREW  HAMM
who was b. 1790 in KENTUCKY and d.

1885 in STODDARD CO. MISSOURI. He was married to SARAH MAHOGAN  b. 1830 in KENTUCKY
and d. 1861 in BERNIE, STODDARD CO. MISSOURI. They had a daughter,  MARY  E. but she
was born in 1842, much later than CALVIN’s wife would have been born. Even though
JOHN ANDREW HAMM could not be her father; he most likely was related to her in some
   manner.

CALVIN WATSON BOONE and MARY HAMM were the parents of ten children all born in
   TENNESSE: WILLIAM  b. about 1837, MARTHA b. about 1839, MAHALA  b. about 1841, LOUISA
   b. about 1843, FRANCES  b. about 1845, HARRY or HENRY b. 1847, JAMES ALBERT  b. April
11, 1848 and d. February 17, 1937 in  LIBERTY TWP. STODDARD CO. MISSOURI; CALVIN  b.
   about 1849, FRANKLIN P.  b. about 1851 and GILBERT b. about 1854.

FRANKLIN P. BOONE married  MALINDA E. HARNESS, April 26, 1876 in STODDARD CO.
MISSOURI. She was b. about 1855 in MISSOURI. They were listed in the 1870 ELK TWP.
STODDARD CO. MISSOURI Census and also in the MISSOURI MARRIAGES  for 1851-1900.

GILBERT BOONE married a  NANCY J. b. abt. 1860 in MISSOURI. They were also listed in
the 1870 ELK TWP. STODDARD CO. MISSOURI Census as well, their marriage was listed in
   the MISSOURI MARRIAGES  for 1851-1900.

There was a GILBERT BOONE who married NANCY L. HATCHETT in 1839 in GIBSON CO.
TENNESSE. This NANCY is also found in the 1850 census for GIBSON CO. with daughters
ELIZABETH and LOUISA. Then she is listed in the 1870 census in her brother SAMUEL W.
HATCHETT's household and in the 1880 census in CROCKETT CO. TENNESSE.  CROCKETT CO.
was formed from parts of GIBSON, DYER, HAYWOOD, and MADISON COs. I also found
information indicating NANCY L. HATCHELL married to GILBERT BOONE on 4/4/1839 in
GIBSON CO. TENNESSE. Most likely the surname was mis-spelled.

A GILBERT BOONE with wife NANCY is listed in the 1880 ELK TWP. STODDARD CO. MISSOURI
Census. There is a JOHN WINTERS listed with them noted as an orphan age 7. I am not
sure who he is. Further, I am not sure if this GILBERT BOONE is the son of CALVIN
WATSON BOONE. My thoughts are that possibly CalvinWATSON had a brother GILBERT and he
could have been the one married to NANCY HATCHETT. CALVIN WATSON could have named a
son after said brother…my GILBERT BOONE.

JAMES ALBERT  BOONE married MARY JANE HARNESS on August 26, 1867 in STODDARD CO.
MISSOURI. She was the daughter of RICHARD HARNESS and wife RACHEL.  MARY JANE was
born November 15, 1851 in TENNESSE, and died March 19, 1919 in STODDARD CO. MISSOURI.
MALINDA HARNESS who married FRANKLIN P. BOONE was her sister.

   JAMES ALBERT’s family  is listed in the 1870 ELK TWP. STODDARD CO. MISSOURI Census;
and his marriage to MARY JANE is listed in the MISSOURI MARRIAGES for 1851-1900. I do
not have any background on her family, but on the census is says her father was b. in
TENNESSE and her mother was b. in S. CAROLINA.

JAMES ALBERT and MARY JANE had eleven children: SAMUEL ALBERT  b. abOUT 1868, JAMES
   RICHARD b. October 30, 1871, JOHN GILBERT b. in 1873, MARY ESTER b. in 1876, ROBERT
   FRANKLIN b. in 1879,  WILLIAM DANIEL b. in 1880, ALONZO b. July 20, 1887, VIOLET b.
in 1889 and HENRY ELSE b. in 1893, all of whom were b. in STODDARD CO. MISSOURI. They
also had  daughters, RACHEL EVELENE  b. in 1881, MATILDA  E. b. in 1897 and JOSEPHINE
   b. in 1883; who were born  in MT. VERNON, ILLINOIS.

HENRY ELSE BOONE was listed in the 1920 LIBERTY TWP. DEXTER, STODDARD CO. MISSOURI
   Census.

WILLIAM DANIEL BOONE MARRIED MERSENIA BELLE HANEY. Her sister, MARTHA ANN HANEY
married WILLIAM’s brother, JAMES RICHARD  BOONE. He was born October 30, 1871 in
DEXTER, STODDARD CO. MISSOURI, and died October 29, 1956 in BROSLEY, BUTLER CO.
MISSOURI.  JAMES RICHARD and MARTHA ANN married  on September 20, 1893 STODDARD CO.
MISSOURI. MARTHA ANN was born September 26, 1875 in MT. VERNON, ILLINOIS and died
January 19, 1974 in 1893 STODDARD CO. MISSOURI. She and MERSENIA BELLE were the
daughters of FRANCIS MARION HANEY and LOVINA JANE WOOD.

JAMES RICHARD and MARTHA ANN had nine children: ALBERT FRANKLIN  b. August 09, 1894
in STODDARD CO. MISSOURI and d. March 12, 1958 in BUTLER CO. MISSOURI, LILLIE JANE
   b. September 19, 1896 and d. September 04, 1973 both STODDARD CO., WILLIAM EVERETT b.
February 23, 1899 and  d. July 25, 1980 both in STODDARD CO., JAMES RALPH  b.
September 09, 1901 in STODDARD CO., and d. March 1971 in AKRON, SUMMIT CO. OHIO,
SAMUEL LOUIS b. January 01, 1904, STODDARD CO. and  d. July 29, 1966 in PARMA, NEW
MADRID CO. MISSOURI, DELLA ANN  b. January 21, 1907 in STODDARD CO. and d. March 26,
   2000, NELLIE MAE  b. March 19, 1910 in STODDARD CO.,  BERT ESCO  b. November 11, 1911
in STODDARD CO. and d. September 02, 1932 in ST. JOSEPH, MISSOURI, and ROBERT OTIS
   b. March 06, 1914 STODDARD CO. and d. March 25, 1994 in AKRON, SUMMIT CO. OHIO.

ALBERT FRANKLIN BOONE married IDA MAE WEST and they had a son, RICHARD BOONE.

WILLIAM EVERETT  BOONE first married MINNIE KELLEY, daughter of WILLIAM KELLEY and
LAURA EAVES.  She was born June 21, 1901, and died July 13, 1938.  After MINNIE died
WILLIAM EVERETT married RUTH MAE NUNN.  She was born September 18, 1905, and died
March 13, 1989 in BERNIE or DEXTER, STODDARD CO. MISSOURI.

RUTH MAE could be the daughter of JOSHUA HENRY NUNN  b. January 7, 1868 and  d. April
   3, 1921 and BLANCHE GREGORY  b. October 25, 1870.

WILLIAM EVERETT and MINNIE had three daughters: BERTHA LOUISE who married JESSE
BARNES; MABEL VERL who married LAWRENCE HARTFORD MCGOWEN; and THELMA who married
   ALVIN CRABTREE.

SAMUEL LOUIS BOONE first married BONNIE MAE TUCKER, daughter of WILLIAM TUCKER and
LORA E. He married second to EDNA BELLE GARLAND, daughter of NORMAN REESE GARLAND and
DORA PARALEE ANDERSON.  EDNA was born August 25, 1918 in GEORGIA, and died September
   15, 2002 in MISSOURI.

SAMUEL LOUIS BOONE and BONNIE had a daughter who is presently living in MISSOURI.
SAMUEL  and EDNA  had a daughter presently living in MISSOURI, and a son presently
   living in OHIO.

ROBERT OTIS BOONE married LILLIE MAE JULIAN in PARMA, NEW MADRID CO. MISSOURI,
daughter of HARVE JULIAN and DORA TRIBBEY. ROBERT  and LILLIE MAE had a daughter and
two sons, believed to be presently living in Ohio.

LILLIE JANE BOONE married JAMES WILL GREGORY, son of ULYSSES GREGORY and SARAH
NORMAN.  He was born March 18, 1891 in STODDARD CO. and died February 26, 1972.

This completes the descending family of CALVIN WATSON BOONE as I presently have it…..
but would like to now try and explain a connection of DANIEL BOONE’s kin to the
GREGORY and WOOD families of which  LILLIE JANE BOONE also is connected.

I found the following information on some Boone individuals who were located in
STODDARD CO. MISSOURI. I feel they are possibly relation in some way to CALVIN WATSON
   BOONE.

*************************************************************

Also…THOMAS PATE BOONE(have seen him as THOS. PAYTON) was born October 21, 1887 ROUND
TIMBER, TEXAS, and died September 1980 in CHRISTOVAL, TEXAS. His ancestry line is as
   follows: /JEREMIAH

   CLAYTON BOONE/ ROBERT BOONE/ JEREMIAH BOONE/ THOMAS BOONE/ JONATHAN BOONE/ ISRAEL
BOONE/ SQUIRE BOONE/ GEORGE BOONE III.

THOMAS PATE BOONE married INDA BOOTS, daughter of PINKNEY ALBERT BOOTS and SIDNEY
MUSGRAUL.  She was born April 27, 1881.

PINKNEY ALBERT  BOOTS was born 1850 in INDIANA, and died August 22, 1922 in OKLAHOMA.
He and wife SIDNEY JENNETT also had a son,   HIRUM ELMER BOOTS  b. about 1891 who
married  META LORRANE LEE, the daughter of  SAMUEL  LEE  and wife REBECCA OLIVE
BUFFINGTON. She daughter of THOMAS BUFFINGTON and

PERNETTA GREGORY.  PERNETTA was born August 10, 1861 in SHELBY CO. ILLINOIS.

She was the daughter of ABSALOM GREGORY  JR. was born 1804 in RUTHERFORD CO. N.
CAROLINA and died 1852 in JEFFERSON CO. ILLINOIS; and wife, REBECCA HOLLIDAY.

ABSALOM JR. was the son of  ABSALOM  GREGORY was born 1756, and died January 18, 1838
in SIMPSON CO. KENTUCKY; and wife  SUSANNAH ANN COLLINS.

ABSALOM SR. and  wife SUSANNAH also had a son, JONATHAN GREGORY  b. May 17, 1800 in
RUTHERFORD CO. N. CAROLINA and d. July 31, 1859 in JEFFERSON CO. ILLINOIS. He married
DIANA WOOD who was b. January 21, 1803 RUTHERFORD CO. N. CAROLINA and d. October 14,
   1884 in JEFFERSON CO. ILLINOIS.

DIANA WOOD had siblings: FRANCIS WOOD and ANNA WOOD; all children of LOTT WOOD b.
   1756 in WILLIAMSBURG, S. CAROLINA.

ANNA WOOD married JAMES HANEY and they had a son, JAMES G. HANEY who married SERENIA
   P. MIFFLIN.

JAMES G. HANEY and SERENIA had a son, FRANCIS MARION HANEY who married LOVINA WOOD.
She was the daughter of SAMUEL AZARIAH WOOD, son of FRANCIS WOOD, DIANA and ANNA’s
   brother.

Two of the daughters of LOVINA WOOD and FRANCIS MARION HANEY, married BOONE brothers.
Their daughter, MERSENIA BELLE HANEY married WILLIAM DANIEL BOONE; and her sister
MARTHA ANN HANEY married his brother, JAMES RICHARD BOONE.

Just to remind you, WILLIAM DANIEL BOONE and JAMES RICHARD BOONE, were the sons of
JAMES ALBERT BOONE and MARY JANE HARNESS; he was the son of CALVIN WATSON

BOONE. JAMES RICHARD BOONE and MARTHA ANN HANEY were the parents of LILLIE JANE
   BOONE.

I know it seems complicated but I truly felt the connection was worth mentioning!!!

***********************************************************
ABNER BOONE b. about 1773 in BERKS CO. PENNSYLVANIA and d. sometime after 1840 in
CLEAR SPRINGS, TEXAS CO. MISSOURI.  ABNER was the second cousin to DANIEL BOONE.
ABNER’s father being JOSEPH BOONE II  b. 1730 son of JOSEPH BOONE b. 1704 brother to
   DANIEL’s father, SQUIRE BOONE.

ABNER BOONE was married to ISABELLA ELLIS. Their son, JAMES E. BOONE d. 1871 in CLEAR
SPRINGS, TEXAS CO. MISSOURI. As well, his son WARREN BOONE d. there  on July 10,
1911. WARREN’s son JAMES WARREN BOONE d. there  on Sept. 24, 1917…in fact I think all
his children were born there: ELMER BOONE b. 1892, MAE EDITH BOONE b. 1894, THOMAS
BOONE b. 1897, CLAY BOONE b. 1900, ARCHIBALD BOONE b. 1900, RALPH BOONE, RUBY BOONE,
   MABEL BOONE, and MAXINE BOONE.

*****************************************************

Then I have, GEORGE ROBERT BOONE b. Feb. 6, 1902 in SHELBYVILLE, SHELBY CO. KENTUCKY.
He was the son of WASHINGTON LINCOLN BOONE, son of WILLIAM JACKSON BOONE, son of
JOSEPH BOONE II, son of JOSEPH BOONE, son of DANIEL’s brother, EDWARD BOONE which
makes DANIEL,  GEORGE’s  great-great-great-great-uncle. Anyway, GEORGE’s wife, MARY
HELEN MAUPIN was b. Sept. 1905 and d. June 1980, both occurring in ST. FRANCOIS CO.
MISSOURI. Considering that GEORGE himself died after her in 1988, I figure they must
have lived in the area of ST. FRANCOIS CO. MISSOURI sometime during their marriage
prior to her death. ***However I am not sure where he died or if they may have
   divorced.

********************************************************

Another BOONE I wish to cover is; HARVEY BOONE b. Dec. 6, 1832. He married JULIA
HAYDEN on July 4, 1876 in IRON CO. MISSOURI. HARVEY was the third cousin to DANIEL
BOONE. HARVEY’s father was GEORGE BOONE son of HEZEKIAH BOONE son of WILLIAM BOONE,
the brother to DANIEL’s father SQUIRE BOONE.

**********************************************************

Next in my file is NOAH WEBSTER BOONE  b. Aug. 30, 1807 in IREDELL CO. N. CAROLINA
and d. July 7, 1860 in ROLLA, PHELPS CO. MISSOURI. He was also a third cousin to
DANIEL BOONE. NOAH WEBSTER was the son of BENJAMIN BOONE, the son of JOHN BOONE the
son of BENJAMIN BOONE, brother to DANIEL’s father SQUIRE BOONE. As far as information
   I have,

NOAH’s descending family were much located in the southwestern portion of MISSOURI. I
am not sure if there were any other of his family who located in the southeastern
   portion.

***********************************************************

TRUEMAN DANIEL BOONE was b. May 26, 1909, he died in 1962 in CAPE GIRARDEAU CO.
MISSOURI. He married ETHEL VERONICA REILLY. TRUEMAN DANIEL was the son of JACOB
BRUMFIELD BOONE, son of REUBEN THOMAS BOONE, son of THOMAS BOONE, son of BRUMFIELD
BOONE, son of THOMAS BOONE, son of JOSEPH BOONE II, son of JOSEPH BOONE, the brother
   of SQUIRE BOONE, DANIEL’s father.

********************************************************

Now comes some interesting information…at least interesting to me. Because it ties in
with my children’s BOONE family. BRUMFIELD BOONE also had a son, DANIEL MILLER BOONE.
DANIEL’s daughter, SARAH EMELINE BOONE b. Nov. 18, 1876 in POLK CO. OREGON had
   married MORGAN PASLAY in 1902.

MORGAN was the son of THOMAS JACKSON PASLAY, son of ELKANAH PASLAY and MARY POLLY
MANARY. ELKANAH had a brother, ANDERSON PASLAY married to JANE SCOTT THOMPSON. They
had a son, JAMES H. PASLAY b. about 1836. His daughter ADA PASLAY married WILLIAM
   HENRY TRIBBEY.

WILLIAM and ADA had a daughter, DORA TRIBBEY  b. Dec. 6, 1886 in ST. FRANCOIS CO.
MISSOURI who married HARVE MANFORD JULIAN in 1904 in GRAYRIDGE, STODDARD CO.
MISSOURI…they were the parents of  LILLIE MAY JULIAN who married ROBERT OTIS BOONE,
the son of JAMES RICHARD BOONE, CALVIN WATSON BOONE’s  grandson. Both LILLIE MAY and
ROBERT OTIS were born in STODDARD CO. MISSOURI.

**********************************************************
   L. BOONE married NANCY J. PASLAY on December 20, 1878 in STODDARD CO. MISSOURI, they
probably are somehow related to MORGAN PASLAY and SARAH EMALINE BOONE (listed above)
   who were married.

**********************************************************

LARRY D.  BOONE was born July 28, 1942 and married JUNE RICHARDSON.  She was born
   March 21, 1944, and died February 23, 1988.

JUNE (RICHARDSON) BOONE is listed with those buried in the MT. GILEAD CEMETERY,
   CLARKTON, DUNKLIN CO. MISSOURI

JAMES BOONE was born December 1791 in N. CAROLINA and died sometime between 1850  and
1860 in CAPE GIRARDEAU CO. MISSOURI.  He married ELIZABETH DOUGLAS who was born May
   04, 1803 in VIRGINIA.

Their son, WILLIAM H. BOONE was born June 14, 1829 and died June 27, 1903 in RIPLEY
CO. MISSOURI.  He first married MARTHA NORVELL, daughter of JOHN T. NORVELL.  She was
born 1825 in TENNESSE  and died sometimes before 1876 in MISSOURI.  He then married a
JENNIE I. Sometime before 1900.  She was born January 1839 and died 1927 in DONIPHAN,
   RIPLEY CO. MISSOURI.

I believe all of the children of WILLIAM BOONE and wife, MARTHA; were born in CAPE
GIRARDEAU CO. MISSOURI. Those children are:

PARALEE BOONE b. February 08, 1853. She died also in CAPE GIRARDEAU CO. on November
17, 1920. She married to COLUMBUS GRAVES b. April 23, 1849 in CAPE GIRARDEAU CO. and
   d. November 09, 1921 also there.

CLAMANTHA or SAMANTHA BOONE; not sure actually her real
name, b. 1857

ARTEMISSA BOONE b. 1858.

ELEANOR ANNA BOONE b. April 1859. She married first NEWTON
JASPER ERVIN on September 09, 1877 in LIBERTY TWP. CAPE
GIRARDEAU CO. MISSOURI. He was b. December 27, 1854 in CAPE
GIRARDEAU CO. MISSOURI. She married second to FRANK
RICHARDSON in 1886; who was b. August 1847.

MARY F. BOONE  b. sometime between 1855 and 1865. She died in
ENID, GARFIELD CO. OKLAHOMA.

JAMES BOONE AND WIFE, ELIZABETH also had a son, JAMES R. BOONE born in 1834 in CAPE
GIRARDEAU CO. MISSOURI.  He married VIRGINIA WALKER. JAMES R. BOONE and VIRGINIA had
   five children: ALFRED BOONE b. 1853, MARY E. BOONE b. 1854, ELVIRA BOONE b. 1857,
JOHN W. BOONE b. 1860 and JAMES BEARGARD BOONE  b. June 04, 1862 in CAPE GIRARDEAU
   CO. MISSOURI.

I found this bit of information after I had already covered that which I had on
CASWELL ASKEW and his daughter, LOUISA E. (page 35) and her marriage to JAMES W.
BOONE. But felt the new information was important enough to cover; thinking possibly
there may be a family connection between the two ASKEW families.

JOHN ASKEW b. abt. 1630 and d. abt. 1683 married BRIDGET SMITH; daughter of NICHOLAS
   SMITH.

NICHOLAS SMITH was a prominent citizen of Isle of Wight Co. Virginia. He served as
Justice of the Court and as the County Representative to the House of Burgess in
1659-60. He left a will in Isle of Wight in 1695 and his estate inventory and
appraisal showed him to have been a man of substantial means for his time.

JOHN and BRIDGET had at least three son: JOHN, WILLIAM, and NICHOLAS. JOHN married
KATHERINE OGLETHORPE. WILLIAM I have not found anything on. NICHOLAS married SARAH
   OGLETHORPE, sister to KATHERINE.

NICHOLAS ASKEW and wife, KATHERINE; had at least five sons: WILLIAM, THOMAS, AARON,
and John. I am covering my interest in JOHN ASKEW’s descending family.

JOHN ASKEW was b. between 1695 – 1710 and died in 1750 in Bertie Co. N. Carolina. It
is thought he married  MARGARET BOONE; daughter of a JAMES BOONE associated with the
   ASKEW family.

On the 29th July 1757, John Askew, orphan of John Askew, about the age of seventeen
years is bound to James Boone. Husbandry or plantation business. Signers - John
Harrell, Jas. Boon. Witnesses - John Baker, Benjn. Wynns. "September 24, 1760,
received of James Boon the sum of twenty shillings in full for all manner of claim
and demand against him for freedom dues or any matter or thing relating to my
apprenticeship with him. [/s/] John Askew Witness Benjn. Wynns"

THOMAS was the son of WILLIAM BRYANT and RACHEL WILCOXSON. RACHEL was the daughter of
JOHN WILCOXSON and SARAH CASSANDRA BOONE; SARAH was the sister of the famous pioneer,
   DANIEL BOONE.

THOMAS and MARY had the following children: RACHEL, JEREMIAH b. 1818, WILLIAM b.

SOUTHWEST of MISSOURI

   L. DANIEL  BOONE  married HELEN TRYPHENA GILES on July 15, 1869 in Laclede Co.
Missouri.  Their marriage was listed in the Missouri Marriages 1851-1900. Laclede Co.
is in the southwestern portion of Missouri, but the fact the name GILES seemingly
unusual; whether a given name or surname, I felt I would add them. Thinking possibly
there may be some family connection between Helen’s family and that of GILES D. BOONE
I have mentioned on pages 36 and 38.

**********************************************************

RAS C. BOONE married GALEY GANN in PEMISCOT CO. MISSOURI. I do not have any family
background for them  at all. Ras and Galey had the following children:

   Delbert P.  b. March 16, 1909 and d. Feb. 10, 1992 in Hayti, Pemiscot Co., Chester,
Christine, John W., Samuel, Evelyn Gladys, Ruby Pauline b. April 30, 1922 in
Hornerville, Mo. And d. May 11, 2002 in Berrien Ctr., Michigan, and Victoria Boone.

Evelyn Gladys first married Walter Biggs; and secondly married James Meeks. Her
sister, Victoria married Fredrick Walker. Ruby Pauline married first to Charles
Coleman in Hayti, Pemiscot Co. Mo.; then later married Louis Menser.

I do have a few individuals whose names are similar which makes me feel there could
be some connection between them and the RAS C. above.

One of these individuals is Rassic Boone, son of Taylor Boone b. 10/22/1864 and
Margaret Buckner of N.C. Taylor was the son of James Ervin Boone b. 1831 in N.
Carolina; he being the son of Israel Boone b. 1804. Israel was the son of Thomas
Boone b. 1774 son of Jonathan Boone b. 1750. Jonathan boone was the son of Israel
Boone b. 1726 who was the brother of the pioneer, Daniel Boone.

I also have in my file Rassie Boone b. 5/28/1927 in Effingham, Illinois. He was the
son of Erastus Allen Boone b. 1888 also in Effingham Co.; son of Joseph Boone b. 1865
also in that location. Joseph was the son of Nathaniel Boone b. 1840 in Orange Co.
Indiana. He was the son of Solomon Boone II b. 1809 in Woodford Co. Kentucky. His
father was Solomon boone b. 1769 in Culpepper Co. Virginia, son of Hezekiah Boone b.
1733; son of George Boone IV, the uncle to the famed, Daniel Boone.

I once received an email from a Mr. Dan Boone, saying his Aunt Jesse Boone’s father
   was John Boone b. 1886, who had brothers Raz, Clifton, Clarence, Dan, Lonnie, Pete;
and sisters, Ruby and Mary. He went on to say they were from Missouri.

   ***********************************************************

RANSOM BOONE married REBECCA ANN COTTER on Mar. 30, 1887. Their marriage is listed in
the RIPLEY CO. MISSOURI MARRIAGES 183301900. I believe he is the same RANSOM BOONE
who is listed in the 1880 DONIPHAN, RIPLEY CO. MISSOURI Census; in the household of
JAMES CROSS and wife, SARAH A. on page 554A.

If they are the same RANSOM BOONEs then he was b. abt.  1864 in Missouri, which would
have made him 23 years of age when he and REBECCA ANN were married.

I have other Ranson and Ransom(e) Boones in my file but none seem to be this one, nor
have I found family connection between them.

Through the recent DNA testing preformed on my son, Chad Boone’s DNA; the results
conclude he most likely shares a common Boone ancestor with two others who were also
   tested.

Chad’s results show he matches exactly 12 of 12 markers tested with Thurman Boone Jr.
and 11 of 12 markers with the brother of Dell Ariola. Further Thurman’s results match
her brother’s 11 of 12 markers as well.

For this reason, I have extended my research to trying also to find the possible link
between their Boone families and that of Chad’s. For this reason I will be adding
some information on their lines as well as other Boones and various surnames
   connected to them.

The furthest ancestor found so far by them is William Boone b. Abt. 1775. They are
not sure where he was born but think it was possibly in S. Carolina. He was married
to a woman named Penelope. Thoughts are she was possibly a Skinner since they named a
   son, Skinner Boone.

Most of their earlier descendants located in Mississippi, and the many descendants
from them also were born and died in Mississippi. Some moved on the Texas.

I will be adding a lot of information on various Boon and Boones I have found
connected to Mississippi and Texas. As well I will also be adding some from S.
Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Tennesse as well as other states. The information from
this point will be on those who fall into this criteria.
