    MRS. JOHN VAUGHN DIES IN HOSPITAL

    Mrs. Emily E. Vaughn of Perryville, widow of John L. Vaughn, died February 11 at St. Francis hospital, Cape Girardeau, where she was taken Feb. 2 for a gall bladder operation. She was 74 year old, and had been sick for several weeks.

    The body was brought to the Bey Funeral Home in Perryville and the funeral was held from there at 1:30 p.m. Sunday to the Cedar Fork Methodist church and cemetery. Services were conducted by the Rev. E. J. Gale of Perryville.

    Mrs. Vaughn was born Mar 29, 1869, in Perry County, a daughter of John and Elizabeth (Keith) Clampitt. She was married Apr 10, 1885 to John L. Vaughn, who died Jan. 1, 1944. To them were born six children, four of whom are living. They are Charles of St. Louis, George of Womack and Lulu Ethel and Prince Vaughn at home.

    She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Cora Mix of Arlington, Ky., two brothers, Charles and William Clampitt of R. 1, nineteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
