William Abner Robertson Obituary Services for William Abner Robertson 1818 thru 1903 (Submitted by #-56-~Cheryl Clampitt) William Abner Robertson Born: 27 March 1818 Died: 30 November 1903 PERRY COUNTY REPUBLICAN; 10 DECEMBER 1903 Wm. A. Robertson Dead Wm. A. Robertson died at the home of his son, Edward, on Cedar Fork, November 30, 1903, at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 4 days. Deceased was born in South Carolina and moved with his parents when he was 8 years old to Alabama, where he grew up to manhood. He married in Alabama to Miss Jane Erwin, daughter of James and Rosanah Erwin. About the year 1837-38 he started with his father-in-law and their families on an overland trip to the then far west to seek their fortunes. They settled on Cedar Fork, Perry Co., Mo., where he has resided up to his death. When he was about 30 years old he was converted and joined the M. E. Church to which he lived a faithful member. He died as he had lived, a true Christian, he filled the office of Sunday Supt., class leader, steward and almost all the offices that a lay member is eligible to in the M. E. church. He was the father of eleven children, five daughters and six sons, all of whom grew to manhood and womanhood, and are all living exceept the oldest son and oldest daughter. His remains were laid to rest in the Cedar Fork cemetery. Peace to his memory. A FRIEND
