EMILY MC NEW Mrs. Emily Mc New, who had made her home in Farmington for the past twelve years, died at her home yesterday morning at 10:15 o'clock. She had been confined to her bed for several weeks with the infirmities of age. She was 78 years, seven months and four days of age. At the time of going to press, the funeral arrangements had not been made. Emily Hudson was born near Perryville June 1, 1852 daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Ellis Hudson. In her girlhood, she was united in marriage to Gabriel Mc New, who preceded her in death 23 years. To this union, eight children were born, one of whom preceded the mother in death. The surviving children are Arthur of Eudora, Ark.; Charles of Desloge; Lawrence of Detroit, and Della, Bessie, Judith and Herman at home. She also leaves one brother, Robert Hudson, of Perryville, sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mrs. Mc New and her family lived for a number of years in the vicinity of Perryville. They moved to Flat River and lived there a number of years before coming to Farmington. Mrs. Mc New was a member of the First M.E. Church of Farmington. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother and a loyal friend. She was always ready and willing to do all in her power to help those in need. The News extends sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.
