Take Hwy
17 across the bridge going toward Iberia. Turn left on Hwy 52 toward
St. Elizabeth, go 8.6 miles and turn left on Whalen Creek Rd., go .1 mile and
turn left at the Capps Cemetery sign, go .1 mile to the
cemetery. Peggy (Hake) Smith told me that this was once called
the Piles Cemetery it is also known as the Hanging Rock Cemetery.
The
reason is that this cemetery is called Hanging Rock is that the back side runs
along the Osage River and underneath it is a huge shelf or Hanging Rock
