Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Myers Funeral Home in Wellsville. She died at 7:35 a.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at Audrain Medical Center. She is being cremated and there will be no services held at this time. Arrangements are under Columbia Cremation Care Center Source: F~A~G It was great to know that when I had a problem, Betty was there to help resolve it. About the last time I corresponded with her, she said that while she didn't want to leave us, at least she would be on the other side of those brick walls that genealogists frequently hit and she was going to hunt up her illusive ancestors. She is being missed. Phyllis Rippee Betty Brooks was the most generous genealogist in Warren County. She gave so much of herself, you would have thought every family she helped with was her own. Shirley had been admitted to a hospital on Tuesday August 6th." Shirley was a County Coordinator for two Missouri Counties, plus was very active across the USGenWeb Project; State Coordinator for MTGenWeb and TXGenWeb, and ASC for MNGenWeb, plus coordinating several counties in several states. We shall miss her significant contributions! Our prayers are with her family at this time of sorrow. |
