| Text | Wanda Hendrix, 64, of Mt. Vernon, died at 9:13
p.m. August 11 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. Mrs. Hendrix was born January 22, 1935, in Lawrence County, and was a lifetime county resident. She was a retired quality control technician for a packing company and was a member of the Baptist Church in Chesapeake. Survivors include two sons, of Aurora; one daughter, of Mt. Vernon; her mother, Effie Sumner of Mt. Vernon; two sisters, Wilma Eaton of Fort Myers, Florida, and Sue Jacobs of Arnold; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Amos Sumner. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, August 15, at Fossett-Mosher Chapel in Mt. Vernon with Rev. Brent McCune officiating. Burial will be in Rock Prairie Cemetery in Halltown under the direction of Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home of Mt. Vernon. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. tomorrow, August 14, at the funeral home. |
