| Text | Purdy, MO - Raymon B. Cameron, 84, Purdy, died at 7:45 am Saturday at Cox Monett Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Cameron was born June 27, 1910, at Butterfield. He was a longtime Barry County resident. He was a retired Baptist minister. He was pastor in several churches in Barry and McDonald counties. He had been a teacher in Purdy and Pierce City school districts. He graduated from Exeter High School and Howard Payne University, Brownwood, TX. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Purdy. He married Gretchen Boyd on June 6, 1937, in Exeter. Survivors include a son, a daughter; three brothers, a sister and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 am Tuesday at Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home, Monett. The Rev. Cameron Moles will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery southwest of Purdy. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 pm today at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Purdy, in care of the funeral home.
