Edwardsville Intelligencer, Edwardsville, Illinois, January 25, 1971

Joseph A. Todd, 412 Aldrup St., a retired truck driver, died of apparent heart attack at 10:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Hospital, Highland, where he was admitted earlier in the day. An Edwardsville resident for 30 years, he was born December 27, 1905, in Old Mines, Missouri. He had lived in Livingston three years before moving to Edwardsville. He had been employed by Cassens Transport at Hamel and Miller's Asphalt Company of Edwardsville before retiring in 1964. He was married in November 1928, to Florence Boyer of Tiff, Missouri, who survives. Also surviving are daughters, Mrs. Larry (Mary) Haynes of Worden and Mrs. William (Patricia) Bryant of Staunton; three grandchildren and sisters, Mrs. Hobert (Jane) Cartee and Mrs. Julius (Ida) Kister, both of Crystal City, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Louis DeClue Todd, two brothers and two sisters. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and Teamsters and Chauffeurs Local 525 at Alton. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
