I am looking for any info on my ggrandparents Joseph C. KIRBY b. Jun 1874 in MO and Sarah Ellen VANCE b. May 1882 in MO. They may or may not have been married. They had 2 sons born in Washington Co, MO. Fred KIRBY b. 6-7-1906 m. Mildred KING and Frank KIRBY b. 2-11-1904 m. Grace JARVIS. In the 1900 federal census for Washington Co Joseph C. KIRBY is listed as the son of Joseph KIRBY (b. Sep 1829 Ireland) and Sarah A. (b. Feb. 1839 in Indiana). There is also a John William KIRBY b. Sep 1869, MO listed as their son. This is all I know about the KIRBYs.

Sarah Ellen VANCE had sisters Elizabeth who married a MEYERS and Agnes who married a JARVIS (all in Washington Co). William VANCE and Elijah VANCE were Sarah's brothers. Sarah Ellen VANCE had at least 2 more children (besides the KIRBY boys) Helen and Ellen DEVINE. Sarah signed her name Mrs.Sarah E. COMPTON on Fred's marriage certificate (10-18-1926). Sarah died as Sarah Ellen TEDDER in April of 1967 in Potosi, MO.

Has anyone heard of these people? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

He died before 1900, because she was found with second husband, Henry Otte in 1910 Poinsett County, AR census. Being married 11 years in 1910.

Was Belleview once a part of Washington County? One other question: Is the White Funeral Home at Caladonia, MO still there? In September, at the Missouri Archives in Jefferson City, I came across a book "White Funeral Home Register, Caladonia, MO Sept. 8, 1907-Oct. 1924." On page 12 an entry says "Mrs. Kirkpatrick, died of old age on Feb. 20, 1914. Ordered by Walter Farley."
Mrs. Kirkpatrick could be my great great grandmother, Margaret Jane HUGHES, who married David W. KIRKPATRICK in Washington County in 1859. The last record I can find of her was the 1910 Belgrade Township, Washington County, Missouri Census. I am interested in verifying her death date and location andperhaps finding where she is buried. Sorry to trouble you, but any help would be appreciated.

Subject: Washington County Lodge
I am wanting to find if anyone in Washington Co. has any knowledge of the Potosi Lodge No. 39, chartered by the Grand Lodge of KY in 1816. None of this information was known to the Grand Lodge of MO until I told the Grand Secretary of MO. I found this Lodge in the records of the Grand Lodge of KY. In 1816 Stephen F. Austin, founder of the Austin Colony in Texas, was the Junior Warden. The Lodge surrendered it's charter to the Grand Lodge of KY in 1818 without giving a reason. Any information on this lodge and it's members would be greatly appreciated. An article on this lodge and Stephen F. Austin was written by me and was published in FOOTPRINTS, the quarterly publication of the Fort Worth Genealogical Society.
