Lois Ruth [Eddleman] Kalberloh, 80, passed away Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008 at Truman Lake Manor, Lowry City. Ruth was born in Lamar, Colorado. She was the eighth child born to Roy Charles and Laura Frances [Souders] Eddleman.

On Feb. 2, 1947, in Lowry City, Ruth was united in marriage to George Frederick Kalberloh. To this union six children were born; Gale, Donna, Sharon, Fred, Nancy and Jim. George preceded Ruth in death after 48 years of marriage.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, John E. Eddleman, five sisters; Hannah Kiess, Waneta McNaught, Ollie Davis, JoEva Kiess and June Tyner, one great grandson; Leif Erik Vaughn.

Ruth was a homemaker most of her life. Her home was always a welcoming place for her children, grandchildren, siblings and friends. She was an active member of the Valley Center United Church of Christ and an active member of the ladies aid and enjoyed quilting.

She leaves behind her children; Gale Kalberloh and wife Peggy, Donna Hughes, Sharon McLerran and husband Marley, Fred Kalberloh, Nancy Holt and husband Carl, Jim Kalberloh and wife Cristie; two sisters; Betty Meininger and Laura Lou Pettet, two brothers; Frank and Cecil Eddleman. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; Craig Keith, Shawna Kalberloh, Dusty Kalberloh and wife Julie, Melissa Highes, Matt Hughes and wife Jackie, Amy Budy and husband Jeremy, Martha Teed and husband Nathan, Kendrick and Collin Kalberloh, Emily Kellis and husband Shawn, Austin Holt, Megan, Shelby and Halie Kalberloh; 11 great-grandchildren; Morgan and Tallon Vaughn, Kyten Robinson, Autumn Wilcox, Kyndall, Dakota and Rafe Kalberloh, Macy Hughes, Dominick and Mackenzie Budy and Ty Kellis; one great-great-granddaughter Cail Gardner; brothers-in-law Vernon Kiess and Gary Meininger, sisters-in-law Maureen Eddleman and Irene Eddleman, many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Services were held Tuesday, Sept. 23 at Valley Center United Church of Christ officiated by Reverend Steve Elsey. Music selections included "How Great Thou Art" and "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow" by the Scott family. Casketbearers included Craig Keith, Matt Hughes, Nathan Teed, Kendrick Kalberloh, Collin Kalberloh, Tallon Vaughn, Dusty Kalberloh, Jeremy Budy, Austin Holt, Shawn Kellis and Dakota Kalberloh.

Interment was held in the Valley Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Valley Center Cemetery.
