Alexis Ann Collins, age 5, of Nevada, died as the result of an accident on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, at her father's home in Tiffin, Mo. She was born on July 27, 2001, in Nevada, to Randall Lee Collins Jr. and Carol Jean Smith Collins. Alexis was a kindergarten student at Bryan Elementary School in Nevada. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Alexis enjoyed sports and fishing and had a love for pets and farm animals.
Alexis is survived by her mother, Carol Pennington, and stepfather, James Pennington, of the home in Nevada; her brother, Randy Collins III, of the home; her grandparents, Bill and Jeanie Smith, of Nevada, Randall Lee Collins, Sr. of Tiffin, Mo., and Joe and Lynna Pennington of Jasper, Mo.; great-grandparents, Marietta Collins of Osceola, Mo., Carol and Henry Geiger of Sterling, Okla., and Floyd Smith, Lawton, Okla., and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins including an uncle Billy Smith of Nevada.
Her father, Randall Lee Collins Jr., and her grandmother, Elaine Collins, also lost their lives in the accident.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Nevada, with Joseph Powers officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. on this evening at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
