William Thomas "Bill" Biggs, Sr., went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007 at Cox South Hospital, Springfield. He was born Oct. 27, 1933 at Rock Spring, Ark., to Kenneth and Dora (Henry) Biggs.
Bill and Virginia Johnson were married Feb. 29, 1952 and moved to Kansas City, later moving to Collins in 1981.
Bill was a former Marine, member of the Independence Police Department, Collins Fire Department, Sac-Osage Fire and Rescue, a Masonic Lodge member, a Shriner, a minister and faithful servant of our Lord for the past 20 years. He was a member of the Humansville Community of Christ Church.
His parents, one brother, two sisters, his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Dale Keirnan preceded him in death.
He leaves behind his wife, Virginia; son, William Thomas Biggs, Jr. and wife, Regina, Stockton; two daughters, Sue Biggs, Humansville and Mary Qualls and husband, Jeff, Collins; grandchildren, Christopher Allen Moore, Samantha Jo Kelly, Amber Rose Keirnan, Timothy William Keirnan and Joshua Andrew Qualls; and five great-grandchildren.
Bill was a loving and faithful husband, a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a friend to all. His smile, laughter, and wisdom will be greatly missed.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007 at the Humansville Community of Christ Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
