WILLIAM CHARLES YATES

William Charles Yates, 92, was born on December 18, 1913, in Missouri
City to Thomas and Alice Hocking Yates and passed away on August 20,
2006 at the Sac-Osage Hospital in Osceola.
Bill was united in marriage to Kathryn Davis and with this union came
three girls, Sharon, Joyce and Janice which he raised on his own.
Bill was proceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Alice Yates,
four brothers, Luther, Arthur, Ernest and Johnny.
Bill is survived by his wife, Kathryn, three daughters, Sharon and
John Carwood of Lowry City, Joyce Murphey of Archie and Janice and Ed
Massey of Warsaw, ten grandchildren, Shelly, Sheldon, and Jason Greer,
Jenny Carwood, Billy Hobbs, Kari Lyndell, Tramra Penson, Clint
Tillotson, Bernita Bell and Denise Brewster, thirteen
great-grandchildren, Anthony Greer, Kyrstal and Nicole King, Cody
Lyndell, Colby Apolimar, Alli Penson, Dakota, Derek and Dalton
Tillotson, Dillon and Desirae Bell and Jared and Nikki Brewster,
several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Services were on Friday, August 25 at the Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel
officiated by Reverend Larry Sherman. Military honors were furnished
by Clinton VFW Post #1894. The interment was held at the Pleasant
Mound Cemetery.
The casketbearers were Billy Yates, Travis Yates, Jim Yates, Tom
Yates, Tommy Yates, and Eric Yates. The honorary casketbearers were
Jim Crocker, Robert Hursh, Will Yates, Jim Carroll, Dean Murphey, Ted
Sink and Cecil Carroll.
