VAN E. LONG IS CALLED BY DEATH
The funeral services for Van E. Long, who passed away Sunday morning
at one o'clock, will be held from the Summerville chapel tomorrow
afternoon at two o'clock under the direction of Reynolds and Zimmerman
funeral service parlors of La Grande.
Mr. Long was a successful rancher of Summerville for a number of years
after which he moved to Imbler, where he has ben(sic) connected with
the bank for some time. He was 49 years, 5 months and 16 days old at
the time of his death.
He leaves to mourn his demise, his wife, Mrs. Etta Standley Long,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Standley, old pioneers of the valley,
his father and mother, Mrs. E. B. Long, besides a large circle of
friends. Pneumonia was the cause of his death.
