Tyra A. Young was born July 7, 1957, in Independence, the daughter of Jerry Dale and Margaret Yvonne (Sartain) Childers. She died at St. Luke's Medical Center, Kansas City, on August 5, 2006, at the age of 49
years.
Tyra was a homemaker. She is survived by one son Chris Young; three grandchildren, Danielle Young,
Devin Young and Dalton Young and her mother Yvonne Sartain, all of Deepwater; two brothers, Terry
Childers of Oak Grove, and Troy Cross of Kansas City, and one sister Tracy Myers of Lake Anders, South
Dakota.
Funeral services were held at Deepwater Baptist Church on Wednesday, August 9. Interment was
in Lowry City Cemetery.
