Susanna Johannigmeier, October 29, 1910 - May 12, 2008
Susanna Elizabeth Ring Johannigmeier was born in the home near Appleton City, Missouri on October 29, 1910 and spent her entire life in the Appleton City community. She was the daughter of Robert Thomas Ring and Laura Adams Ring. She passed away May 12, 2008 at Ellett Memorial Hospital in Appleton City at 97 years of age. On April 22, 1934 she was united in marriage to Edward C. Johannigmeier. To this union two sons were born. They spent their entire married life farming in the Appleton City rural community. Susanna was an excellent cook and homemaker. She taught in on-room schoolhouses, public schools and Head Start in Bates, St. Clair and Henry counties. She graduated from Appleton City High School and attended Central Missouri State University and Southwest Missouri State University. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for 85 years serving as Sunday School Superintendent for an extended period of time. She had been a member of Chapter CC P.E.O. Sisterhood since 1961. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward, son Robert who died at birth, her parents and a brother. She is survived by her son Jerry and his wife Suzann of Appleton City, cousins and a host of friends.
