Ruth Nadyne Dobbs was born September 29, 1917 in Osceola, Missouri to
Dan and Roxie [Ray] Carpenter and passed away on March 19, 2008 at St.
Lukes Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
Nadyne attended teachers college in Bolivar and Warrensburg, Missouri.
She taught school in Osceola for many years. On July 1, 1944 Nadyne
was united in marriage to Harry C. Dobbs in Kansas City. Nadyne was a
homemaker and then worked for the Social Security Office in Kansas
City, Missouri as a claims processor for 16 years. Upon retiring in
1983 she was able to return to Osceola.
Nadyne was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Garden Club,
Senior Center and the Hospital Auxiliary. She helped organize the
first All School reunion and enjoyed many trips with Richard's Fun
Time Tours. Nadyne truly loved living in Osceola and
participated in many local acticvities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Roxie Carpenter, her
husband, Harry and one brother,
Forest Lee Carpenter.
Nadyne is survived by one daughter, Deborah Dobbs of Kansas City,
Missouri, one nephew, Charles Lee
Carpenter of San Antonio, Texas, sister-in-law, Julia Carpenter of San
Antonio, Texas, other relatives and
many friends.
Services were Saturday, March 22 in the Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel with
Rev. Scott Hill
officiating.
Musical selections were "Amazing Grace" and "Old Rugged Cross" with
Donna Carney, soloist and Gail
Ingle, accompanist.
Casketbearers were her church family.
Interment was in Osceola Cemetery under the direction of
Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola.
