R. Marie Knight - Ruth Marie Knight was born May 11, 1933 to Leonard and Rosie Hochstedler in Osceola. She departed this life on Feb. 6, 2008 at her home near Osceola.
On July 7, 1951 Marie was united in marriage to Lloyd Thomas Knight. To this union two sons were born, Rick and Fred Knight, who kept them very busy. Marie loved life and people. Tommy and Marie's door was always open to any family, friends and neighbors. She loved to cook and anyone who ever visited never left empty bellied or empty handed. Marie always greeted everyone with a hug and "are you hungry?" Many people called her "Gramma Marie" and were made to feel like family.
Marie was mostly a stay at home Mom, but also took in laundry and cooked at Headstart, Boy Scout Camp and Clearview Daycare. She also liked to putter around on their farm with Tommy and haul wood, fish and take care of her chickens and dogs.
Marie first accepted Christ as her Savior in 1963 at Osceola Baptist Church. She was a member of various
churches over the years, but was a faithful member of Gerster Baptist Church since 1996. Marie was also an
active member of the Osceola Chapter of  Al Anon.
Her husband, Tommy and their family meant a lot to Marie. She spent countless hours spoiling her
grandkids and great grandkids.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy, her parents, sisters Bernita Cone and Bernice Gilbert and brother, Nolan.
She is survived by her son, Rick and wife Linda, ElDorado Springs and her son, Fred and wife, Karen, of
Osceola. She enjoyed six grandchildren, Stephanie Coleman and husband Mike, Osceola, Patricia Hoppers
and husband, Michael, Bolivar, Cody Knight and girlfriend, Nicole and sons, Alex and Tyler, Springfield,Christopher Knight, St. Louis and Rickayla and Raelynn Knight, ElDorado Springs. She, also, greatly loved her three great granddaughters, Kelina and Kait Coleman and Lauren Hoppers and Nicole's boys, Alex and Tyler who she loved as her own. Also surviving her are her brother, Eugene Hochstedler and wife, Ina Lee, of Temple, Texas and one sister, Kathy Tillotson and husband, Ken, of Vista and many nieces, nephews and a ton of friends.
Services were held Sunday, Feb. 10, at Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel. Officiated by Francis Leslie and Rev. Gar Garman.
Music selections included "In the Garden" , "Old Rugged Cross", "Amazing Grace" by Gail Ingle and "How
Great Thou Art" by Rob Self, soloist and Gail Ingle, accompanist.
Casketbearers were Rob self, Luke Mathews, Bob Irvin, Larry Shelby, Robert Hochstedler, David Cone and Roger Beach.
Interment was in Kings Prairie Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola.
