Russel Joseph Harper, 90, of El Dorado Springs passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006, in the Community Springs Health Care Facility. He was born on Jan. 7, 1916 in Holcomb, to Joseph Bland and Hazel Bage Harper.
Russell was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Velma on April 28, 1992; and his son, Russell on Feb. 7, 1987.
He is survived by his three grandsons, Russell W. Harper, Brad Harper, Sr., and Nick Harper; two great grandsons, Brad Harper, Jr., and Jacob Harper; two brothers, Bill Harper of Bakersfield, Calif., and Larry Harper of Ozark; two sisters, Carla of Woodbridge, Va., and Cemela of Colorado Springs; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Russel will be missed by all that knew him.
Services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Sheldon-Goodrich funeral Home in El Dorado Springs.
Casketbearers were Russell W. Harper, Walt Truitt, Nick Harper, Bruce Walker and Donnie Fletcher. Honorary Casketbearers were Brad Harper, Sr., Brad Harper, Jr. and Jacob Harper.
The minister was Rev. David Studer. Interment was by Rivermonte Memorial Gardens in Springfield. Arrangements were by Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home in El Dorado Springs.
