Ronald "Ron" L. Chiles, age 71, Joplin, passed away at 2:38 p.m.
Friday, August 24, 2007 at St. John's Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Chiles was born June 14, 1936 in Oregon to the late Rolla Chiles
and Hallie Insky Chiles and had lived in the Joplin area since 1986
moving from Fair Grove, Missouri.
Ron was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked for
McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft for several years and Zenith Corporation as
a quality control officer for 18 years. He also worked at Mid-Con for
five years and Ace-Electric as an electrical engineer for 16 years.
Ron retired in 2000, due to ill health. He was a member of Faith
Assembly of God. He also attended the House of David, Fairland,
Oklahoma, and was a past member of Fair Grove Methodist Church.
He married Florenia Carmona on September 4, 1966 in Angeles City,
Philippines. She preceded him in death on February 12, 2007.
Survivors include his children, Janet Hoskins, Joplin, Rod Chiles,
Granby, Tim Chiles, Joplin; one brother, Jerry Chiles, Harrisonville,
Missouri, Laverne Heins, Kansas City, Missouri; and nine
grandchildren, Ronnie Hoskins, Amber Hoskins, Rachel Farrales, Caleb
Farrales, Ranon Chiles, Zane Chiles, Taylor Chiles, Zion Chiles, and
Zeke Chiles.
Services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Faith Assembly of God.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Kidds Chapel
Cemetery, in Lowry City, Missouri. Military honors will be performed
at the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes
Association, in care of Parker Mortuary.
