Robert Gustiva Floyd, Sr. was born November 17, 1912, in Pleasant Hill to Gustave and Dora Lindsay Floyd. He died July 14, 1995, at his home in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 82 years, seven months and 27 days.
Robert lived in the Osceola area from 1931 until 1949. He was a longtime resident of Des Moines, Iowa. Robert was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired truck driver, retiring in 1977 and was a member of the Teamsters Union.
On November 2, 1945, Robert was united in marriage to Jennieve Haste in Kansas City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Ray Allen Floyd, two brothers, Abraham Floyd and Edwin Albert Floyd, one sister, Fern Markham.
He is survived by his wife, Jennieve Floyd of the home; two sons, Robert G. Floyd, Jr. of Des Moines, Iowa, and Edward Floyd, Woodward, Iowa; two sisters, Dorothy Coppenhaver of Kansas City, and Bertha Pollard of Camdenton; two brothers, Herman Floyd of ElDorado Springs, and Steele Floyd, Raytown, and four grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
