Ralph Duwayne "Wayne" Chamberlain, age 51, lost his battle with cancer
on Sept. 29, 2006, at his home in Independence. He was born the second
child of Ralph and Katherine Chamberlain on Jan. 29, 1955 at Butler.
Wayne was an automobile painter and had worked at AAA Auto for 11
years and for KC Car paint for 25 years. He loved what he did and even
after having a major surgery and during chemotherapy for cancer went
back to work after only two weeks out of the hospital on limited
hours. He worked until the business shut down and by then he was too
ill to work.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Aaron and Eva
Chamberlain and his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Mable
Nestlerode, his step brother David Dyer, also many aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his wife, Rena, daughter, Cheryl and step daughter
Katy all of Kansas City, his father and step moteher, Ralph and Mary
Chamberlain of Lowry City, his mother Katherine Stone of Urbana,
sister Kathy and her husband Jim Crum and their family from Sedalia,
sister Helen and her husband Gary Fowler and their family of Preston,
half brothers, Jimi Hedrick and his family of Buffalo, Rocky Stone and
his wife Leola and their family of Urbana, step brothers Dwight Dyer
and his wife Merna and their family of Chariton, Iowa, Darrell Dyer of
Honolulu, Hawaii, and step sister Debby and her husband Todd Conn and
their family of Loveland, Colo. and many aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews and cousins.
There was a viewing and family service at Mt. Washington Forever
Funeral Home in Independence on Oct. 6 followed by cremation. There
will be a celebration to his life held at the home of his father,
Ralph Chamberlain, at Lowry City on Oct. 14 at 2 p.m. Freinds and
family are invited.
