Manuel Hooper - Mr. Manuel Hooper, a retired Butler businessman, died June 21, 1981, at Bates County Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 21, 1893, in Osceola to Benjamin F. and Mary Elizabeth Robertson Hooper.
In 1917 Mr. Hooper moved to the Ballard area, where he operated a grocery store for several years. He and his wife moved to Butler in 1956, where they owned and operated the Hub Drive-in until 1959.
On June 6, 1929, he married Leta Hendrickson.
Survivors include Mrs. Hooper of the home; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral was June 24 at the Underwood-steinbeck Chapel with Rev. Charles Hendrickson of Sedalia officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
