JAMES GREENE CARROLL
James Greene Carroll, son of William Henry Carroll and Mary Carroll
was born near Nashville Tennessee on December 24, 1873 He passed away
on February 26, 1949 at his home at the age of 75 years, two months
and two days. When but a small child he came to Osceola Missouri with
his father where he lived up to the time of his passing. His mother
and father preceded him in death.
He was united in marriage to Laura Ellen Waters November 25, 1894 at
Osceola Missouri and to this union six children were born - Gilbert
dying in infancy and Mary Frances at the age of six. He is survived by
his companion, one daughter Agnes Sherman, Lowry City, Missouri, three
sons, James William, Charles Harold and Ray Donald all of Osceola,
Missouri, one sister, Sarah Hannah of Osceola, eleven grandchildren,
three great grandchildren and many relations and friends. In 1909 he
united with the Christian Church, to which faith he lived until death.
Uncle Jim, as he was called by his many friends, was loved by all who
knew him for his cheerful disposition and kind thoughts of others. All
that loving hands and medical care could do was done but the Lord
knows best, so he passed away in his sleep and has gone to rest -
leaving a great voice in our memories and affections.
Funeral services were held in the Church of the Brethren February 26,
1949. Buriel in Pleasant Mound Cemetery under the direction of
Goodrich Funeral Home. The large crowd assembled and the large floral
offering indicated the high esteem in which he was held.

One more home has been saddened by the death of a dear and loving
father who had lived a long and useful life being 75 years old.
