HARRY L. HANNAH

Harry L. Hannah was born January 24, 1908 in St. Clair County, Mo.,
the son of Ettie Lou and Henry Hannah. He passed away July 5, 1973, at
the Bates County Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mr.
Hannah was united in marriage to Gertie Marie Snodgrass, August 25,
1928 who passed away April 5, 1953. To this union one son was born,
Arnold D. Hannah. Mr. Hannah had spent most of his life in Butler. He
was a carpenter by trade and had many, many friends among those in
this line of work. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and was
a member of the Ohio Street Methodist church where he was a faithful
member, serving on many committees and devoting his time and talents
wherever and whenever needed. He was a longtime member of the
Methodist Mens Club.
On December 24, 1953 he was married to Angel Leslie, who preceded him
in death August 14, 1972.
He is survived by one son, Arnold Hannah of Butler, and one step-son,
David Leslie of Tuscon, Ariz.; six brothers are Abe, Clayton, and
George of Butler; Claude of Peculiar, William and Eugene of Jasper and
one sister Mary Salmon of Montrose, Mo.; two grandsons, Kirk Douglas
and Matthew Wade Hannah of Butler; three step-grandsons, Charles, Ken
and Richard Leslie; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He
will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 8, at 1:30, at the
Underwood-Steinbeck chapel with Rev. Lester Thornton officiating.
Burial was made at Oak Hill cemetery under the direction of
Underwood-Steinbeck Funeral Home.
