Emmett C. Evans II, was born Sept. 14, 1943, in Collins to Josephine Ellis Becker and Emmet Evans, Sr. He passed away June 1, 2006, at Lakeside Manor in Warsaw.
Emmett graduated from Collins High School in 1961. He was saved on Sept. 6, 1956 at teh Fairview Missionary Christian Church. Emmett served in the Army from 1965 to 1967 and was stationed in Germany. He worked on the Stockton Dam and worked several years at Paul Meuller of Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine and Emmett Evans and a brother, Michael Evans.
Emmett is survived by two sons; one daughter; his brothers, Berla Evans, Fair Play; Tom Evans, Bolivar; Jack Evans, Harrisonville; Evan Evans, Lenexa, Kan.; Steve Evans, Collins; three sisters, Mary Jean Lamb, Independence; Joanne Earwood, Springfield; Joyce Evans and other relatives and friends.
Services were held Sunday, June 4 at 2 p.m. at the Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel.
The minister was Greg Magnum.
The music was "Amazing Grace" and "I'll Fly Away" by Gail Ingle.
Casketbearers were Troy Earawood, Shawn Evans, Brian Evans, Travis Earwood, John Lamb and Berla Evans.
Military honors were provided by AMVETS 5th District Honor Guard.
The interment was at the Freeman-Holsapple Cemetery.
Arrangements were by the Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola.
