ELLA LEOTA HOOPER

Mrs. S.E. Hooper - Mrs. Ella Leota Hooper was born December 1, 1889,
the daughter of William and Naomi McGee, in St. Clair County, Mo., and
departed this life on October 10, 1968 at the age of 78 years, 10
months and nine days, at the Bates County Memorial Hospital.
She was united in marriage to S.E. Hooper on September 9, 1906 and had
observed their 62nd wedding anniversary on September 9. This union was
blessed with five children. Those preceding her in death were her
parents, a son, Dennis McGee Hooper; two brothers, Ed and Asa McGee
and a sister, Docia Allen.
She is survived by three sons, Edgar Hooper of Dallas, Tex.; Forrest
Hooperof Oklahoma city, Okla., LaVerne Hooper of Kansas City, Mo.; one
daughter, Pauline Gabriel of Butler, Mo., a half-brother, Ernest
Wilson; a half-sister, Nona Scott, both of Eaton, Colo.; seven
grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews,
other relatives and a host of friends.
She was an active member of the Methodist Church and enjoyed her work
in the circle, as long as her health permitted.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, October 13, at the Ohio
Street Methodist Church with Rev. Lester Thornton officiating. Burial
was made in Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Culver-Underwood
Funeral Service.
