EARL E. BEARDSLEE

Earl Edgar Beardslee was born April 10, 1930, in Osceola, to Clyde and
Edna Mae [Akers] Beardslee. He passed away April 22, 2008, at Cox
Medical Center, Springfield.
Earl was united in Marriage to Wynema White and to this union four
children were born. On Aug. 1, 1989, Earl was united in marriage to
Velma Joyce Brown.
He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Earl was a lifelong
resident of the Osceola area where he farmed for many years. He
enjoyed farming and his mules, horses and trail rides. Earl drove
Peterbilt trucks for years and also hauled livestock in the Kansas
City Stockyards.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Bob, Eldon, Leo
and Gene, sisters Maxine Kinyon and Margaret Drake.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of the home; four children, Mike
Beardslee and his wife, Mary, Janet Wheeler and husband, Ron, Carol
Davis and Paul Beardslee and wife Debbie; stepchildren Bill Brown and
family, Kenny and Loretta Gabriel and family.. Bob amd Carla Brown and
family, Denny and Joan Owens and family, Jerry and Brenda Brown and
family, Dwayne and Barbara Wallen and family, Jimmy Brown and family,
his sister, Janie Mumford and husband Larry, several grandchildren,
greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services were held Saturday, April 26, at the Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel,
Osceola, with Greg Mangum officiating. Music was "Wabash Cannon Ball",
"One Man Band", and "On The Wings Of A Dove".
Casketbearers were: Keith Beardslee. Chad Beardslee, Lucas Wheeler,
Jeremiah Wheeler, Travis Walters, Matthew Davis and Kenneth Wheeler.
Honorary casketbearers were Kimberly Davis, Heidi Beardslee, Bob
Beardslee and Leo Beardslee.
Military Honors were conducted by Clinton VFW Post #1894. Interment
was in the Lowry City Cemetery.

An Osceola man died and a Pennsylvania truck driver suffered serious
injuries in a crash on Missouri 13 Tuesday, according to the Missouri
Highway Patrol.
Earl Beardsley, 78, was pronounced dead in Cox South Hospital in
Springfield after being airlifted for treatment after the 8:55 a.m.
crash 16 miles south of Osceola. The patrol's original report did not
mention Beardsley's injuries.
Truck driver Roger D. Dunlap, 51, of Greenville, PA, was taken to St.
John's Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The crash occurred when Beardsley's eastbound 1995 GMC pickup truck
ran into the path of Dunlap's northbound 1986 Peterbilt
tractor-trailer rig, the patrol reported.
