Clyde D. Holmes was born on Feb. 28, 1922 in Heflin, Alabama to Arthur and Mae [Blackman] Holmes and passed away Dec. 16, 2007 at his daughters home in Lowry City.
Clyde was a preacher in his earlier years and he always put God and his family above everything else.
Clyde spent many years as a truck driver before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading his
bible and listening to preaching.
He was preceded in death by his wife,Annie, in 2003, daughter, Mary and son, Art; his sisters and his
brothers and his grandson, Joey.
Clyde is survived by one brother, Roy Holmes of Raytown, two sons, James Holmes, Anniston, Alabama,
Walter Holmes, Camden, his daughters; Dorothy Roberts, Princeton, Doris Snodgrass, Blue Springs, Kitty Henley, Grain Valley, Rebecca Moore, Lowry City; 23 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services were Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 2 p.m. in Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel officiated by Rev. Jeff
Ferguson and Rev. Harvey Woods.
Music selections were "Old Rugged Cross" soloist by Amanda Phillips and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus"  soloist by Kathy Brown.
Casketbearers were Phillip Henley, Shelby Goodman, Tommy Roberts, Brad Moore, Jr., Tony Snodgrass and Richard Davis.
Interment was in Lowry City Cemetery with arrangements made by Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola
