Bill Chester "Billie" Clesson, 66, formerly of Litchfield, passed away
Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, at his home in Taylorville. He was 66 years
old. He was born in Litchfield, a son of Chester Irving and Annie
Mildred Sevier Clesson. He maried Irma Jean Riemenschneider on April
30, 1962, in Litchfield and she preceded him on Oct. 2, 2000.
An Army veteran, he served during peace time. Over the years, he
worked for Brown Shoe Company and Wepco, both in Litchfield, as a
carpenter's helper and in construction jobs. After moving to
Taylorville, he worked for Continental Grain Company and at the
Georgia Pacific Paper Mill. He also worked as a security guard. He was
a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Taylorville.
Surviving are a daughter, Lois Lechner and her husband, Sam,
Taylorville; sisters, Ann Boyd and her husband, Dale, Rome, Ga., Mary
Colins and her husband, Robert, Lowry City, Betty Brimberry and her
husband, Edwin, Benld, and Barbara Howard and her husband, Ernie,
Gillespie.
Preceding him in death, besides his wife, was a brother, David
Clesson.
Services for Bill were Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, in Plummer Funeral
Home with the Reverend Rodney Blomquist, pastor of Trinity Lutheran
Church of Taylorville, officiating.
Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery, under the direction of Plummer
Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorial tributes be directed to the Litchfield
Veterans Memorial Garden Fund.
