Beulah May Price, 86, went to be with her Lord and savior on Sunday, May 14, 2006, at Hospice House in Kansas City. She was a resident of Meadville after living in California for many years.
Beaulah, or Sis, was born on March 26, 1920, to James Melvin and Elizabeth Ann Mistler Woody in St. Clair County.
She was married to Melvin Shoemaker and Grover Jefferson Curley Blankenship who both preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, John Price, of home in Meadville. They were married Dec. 31, 1966. Beulah was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Herman Cecil, a sister, Mary Ann Patterson, and a brother, Junior Melvin.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her sister and caregiver, Betty Tharp, of Meadville and her brothers, Jim Woody, of Belton, Bill Woody, of Sacramento, Calif., Ray Woody, Texas, and David Woody, of Woodland, Calif. Beulah is also survived by three surrogate grandchildren along with their spouses and six great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren are Dana Melton, Meadville, Richard Tharp, North Hampton, N.H. and Heather Hall of Ellisville. Aunt Sis will also be greatly missed by the many nieces and nephews who she nurtured and encouraged through the years.
Beulah had worked in the restaurant business in many different capacities and she enjoyed singing and yard work. She was devoted to her family and they will enjoy stories of her antics for many years to come.
A memorial service celebrating Beulah's life will be held Saturday, Sept. 30, at 10 a.m. at the Full Gospel Church in Monegaw Springs. Her ashes will be buried in the Meadville cemetery.
