Alva Franklin Hooper, Sr., 89, Lee's Summit, died yesterday at a
medical center in Lee's Summit. He was born in Osceola, Mo., and lived
most of his life in Adrian, Mo. He lived the last three and a half
years in Lee's Summit. Mr. Hooper was a farmer and a produce dealer in
Adrian. He was a member of the Adrian United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nettie F. Hooper of the home; four sons,
Alva F. Hooper, Jr., Adrian; Jack Hooper, 8829 Hunter, and Kenneth L.
Hooper, 7414 Hedges, both of Raytown, and Richard R. Hooper, Dallas,
Tex.; three daughters, Mrs. Alice Rinehart, Lee's Summit; Mrs. Daisy
Derks, 11004 Military Club Road, Raytown, and Mrs. Billie Utterback,
9517 West Eighty-ninth, Overland Park; two brothers, Sina Hooper and
Manuel Hooper, both of Butler, Mo.; 21 grandchildren, and 22
great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday at
the Atkinson-Dickey chapel, Adrian; burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery,
Adrian.
