Alice M. Allen, 70, of Osceola, MO., formerly of KCMO, beloved mother and sister in Christ, passed away June 24, 2007 after her battle with cancer. Funeral services Saturday, June 30 at 10AM First Baptist Church, Osceola with burial in Allen Cemetery. Family will receive friends 7-8PM Friday Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola (417-646-8135)

Alice Maryetta Allen also known as Mama Allen, age 70, beloved mother and sister in Christ, died June 24, 2007, after her courageous battle with cancer.
Alice was born on March 5, 1937, in Cashada, Louisiana to the late William Henry and Willie Mae (Richardson) Simon.
Alice was a member of the First Baptist Church where she served on the church council for several years. She was a member of teh "TOPS" weight loss club. She was president of "Goodies Galore" thrift store and a member of the women's Sac Osage Hospital auxiliary.
In 1970, Alice and George Edward Allen, Sr. moved to Osceola, MO., Alice held several jobs during her lifetime; her number one being wife and mother to her family. She also worked for the Sac Osage Hospital for numerous years in the delivery room and assisted with bringing numerous children into this world. Alice also worked at the Family Dollar, volunteered for several auxiliaries, and drove the Head Start bus. Alice brought joy to everyone she touched and her boisterous laugh let everyone know that she was there.
Alice is survived by her brother, Franklin D. Roosevelt Simon and children, Sharon Omer (John), George Allen Jr. (Mary), Michelle Bolden (Carl), Shirley Demese Williams (Wilson), Otis Demease, Patricia Nicholson (George), Bobby J. Allen, Willie Mae Hensel (George), Keith Allen, Shelly Allen, Connie Allen, Stevie Allen, Rhonda Allen, Lester Allen Sr. (Sharon), Ellanor Antionette Allen and Gregory Allen. Alice also has 37 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren and a host of neices, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.
In addition to her parents, her husband, George Edward Allen, Sr., and her oldest brother William Henry Simon, Jr. and two children, Charles Michael Allen and Gerald Demease Allen preceded her in death.
We would like to thank all the Heartland Hospice Care staff, church family and friends for the outpouring of love and support given to Mama and the family in our time of need.
The family requests that any donations be given to the Heartland Hospice Care or the Alice Allen Memorial Fund.
Services were held on June 30 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Hill officiationg, and an eulogy from Dean Jones. Music included, "At The Cross" sung by the First Baptist Choir, "There's Just Something About That Name", a congregational hymn, "Ten Thousand Angels", a solo by Richard Powell, "My Tribute" performed by Kyle Jones, pianist, and "My Deliverer" led by Donna Carney and assisted by the First Baptist Praise Band.
Casketbearers were Brett Shelby, David Carney, Melvin Carroll, George Edward Allen, Jr., Keith Allen, and Lester E. Allen, Jr.
Interment was at the Allen Cemetery with arrangements made by the Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home of Osceola.
