ACHSA ULAYLA DULL

Achsa Ulayla Dull took her place in heaven Sept. 7, 2006. Ulayla was
born to Sie and Cora Myers on March 15, 1914 in St. Clair County where
she spent her childhood and graduated from Osceola High School.
Ulayla was married to William Truman Dull on June 15, 1932. They lived
on a farm near Gerster until about 1939, when they purchased a farm
near Quincy, where their son still lives.
In 1953 Ulayla became the post mistress at Wisdom Post Office. She
worked there for several years until she was able to acquire the
position at the Shawnee Mission Post Office in Shawnee Mission, Kan.,
and retired from there with 18 years of service. After retirement, she
moved to Humansville but never changed her church membership from the
Landmark Baptist Church in Shawnee Mission, Kan.
Born to the marriage of Ulayla nd Truman were three children. Ulayla
is survived by their daughter, Arlene Lear and her husband, Lionel,
Humansville; son, Gayle Dull and his wife, Wilma, Quincy and daughter,
Brenda Denton and her husband, Larry, Ft. Scott, Kan.
She leaves one half-brother, Melvin and two half-sisters, Sandra and
Frances. Ulayla has 11 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Ulayla was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband,
Truman; a brother, Orval Myers and a half-brother, Sie Myers, Jr.
Funeral services for Ulayla were Sunday, Sept. 10, in Murray Funeral
Home, Humansville, with Dr. Greg Bunn officiating. Pallbearers were
Mark Denton, Steve Denton, Clint Dull, Jason Dull, Justin Lear and
Tyler Lear.
Interment was in King's Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Murray
Funeral Home, Humansville.
