TOM FARRINGTON

Tom Farrington, 53, passed away April 10, 2006, in Eldon. He was born in Valparaiso, Ind., to Thomas Lansign and Mariam Ruth Hofferth Farrington.
Tom graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia and Kentucky Christian College. He was in the ministry for 25 years with the last five being minister of the Ninth Street Christian Church of Eldon, with previous ministries in Muscatine, Iowa and Hume. Tom was active as a volunteer with the Upward Basketball Program and was a member of the Eldon Lions Club. He was also a member of the Advisory Committee with Lifebridge in Brandon, Vermont.
On June 2, 1973, he wed Colleen Kelly in Lebanon and to this union two children were born, daughter, Kelly and son, Michael.
Tom was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his wife, Colleen, of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Lee Strickler, Taberville; his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Carrie Farrington, Pittsburg, Kan.; two grandchildren, Caaleb and Cale Farrington; his mother, Mariam Farrington, Callao, sister, Sharon Nelson, Eugene; brothers, Todd Farrington, Colbran, Colo. and John Farrington, Callao; several nieces and nephews.
Services for Tom were Thursday, April 13, at the Ninth Street Christian Church, Eldon, with Rod Cooper and Craig Casey officiating.
Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery, Callao, under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon.
