SILVESTRE CRUZ HERNANDEZ, JR.

Silvestre Cruz Hernandez Jr., age 67, of Weaubleau, passed away August 28, 2007 at his home.
He was born June 2, 1940 to Silvestre and Benita (Cruz) Hernandez in Donna, Texas. The family moved from Texas to Kansas City, Kan., in 1959. Junior worked as a migrant worker until he took a position with Econoflo in Wolcott, Kan. Two years later he moved to ADM Grain Elevator and worked for over 30 years retiring in 1992. After retiring he moved with his wife and son, Michael to Weaubleau.
He was married to Sandra Folsom on Nov. 3, 1961 in Kansas City, Kan., and they had four children, Bobby, Connie, Lisa and Michael.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Frank.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Sandra Hernandez; four children, Bobby Hernandez of Kansas City, Kan., Connie Schmalz of Kansas City, Kan., Lisa Hernandez-Simpson of Lansing, Kan., and Michael Hernandez of Weaubleau; six brothers, Julian Hernandez of Victoria, Texas, Alfred Hernandez of Lawrence, Kan., Eleno Hernandez of Olathe, Kan., Lupe Hernandez and Roy Hernandez both of Kansas City, Kan., and Ramiro Hernandez of Falls City, Neb.; four sisters, Sandy O'Briend of Falls City, Neb., Angie Jackson of Kansas City, Kan., Margie Andrade of Seattle, Wash., and Connie Roberts of Falls City, Neb.; 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 31, 2007 at Hathaway-Peterman Chapel with Rev. Ed Stovall officiating. Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery, Quincy under the direction of Hathaway-Peterman Funeral Home, Wheatland.
Pallbearers were Eddie Hernandez, Rudy Hernandez, Damion Hernandez, Mark Hernandez, Al Folsom and Gayle Dull.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 31 at HathawayPeterman Funeral Home, Wheatland, Mo. Burial will be at Mount Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Hernandez of the home; two sons, Bobby of Kansas city, Kan., and Michael of Weaubleau, Mo.; and two daughters, Connie Schmalz of Kansas City, Kan., and Lisa Hernandez of Lansing, Kan.
