Roy L. "Buck" Calvird, Jr., died Sunday, August 18, 1996 at Golden
Valley Hospital, Clinton, Mo. Memorial funeral services will be held
at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 21, at the Anderson Funeral Home, 3rd
and Grandriver, Clinton, with Rev. Richard Page officiating. The
family will receive friends after the memorial service at the funeral
home.
Buck was born in Osceola, May 27, 1934, the son of Roy Lee Calvird,
Sr., and Jeannette Averill Drebelbis Calvird. He was a WW II Veteran
of the U.S. Marines and had worked as an electrician for the
Electrical Worker's Union #124 until retiring in 1981. He had operated
the Amvets Club in Urich and had operated Tiff's Fireworks and other
fireworks stands in the area for the past ten years. He was a member
of the Eagles Lodge and the American Legion in Clinton and was a
member of Amvets Post #120 in Urich.
Mr. Calvird is survived by his wife, Veta, of the home, as well as
four daughters, Tammy Louise Calvird, Clinton; Terri Brownsberger,
Montrose; Tracy Burns, Clinton; Tiffany Tate, Clinton; and five
grandchildren: Kellan Palmer, Amber Palmer, Danielle Pennington,
Dakota Calvird and Dalton Tate.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Nancy Calvird.
Mr. Calvird's cremation remains will be buried in the Osceola
Cemetery, Osceola, Mo.
