Robert Leao Eaton passed away at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital on
April 7, 2006, due to pneumonia and emphysema. He was born in
Independence on Aug. 22, 1926, to Edward and Margaret Dippo Eaton.
Robert was a son of 14 children.
Robert was united in marriage to Georgie Waneta Richey on Aug. 28,
1948, at Butler. Robert was the father of five sons, David, Robert,
Randy, Billy and Gary who passed away in 1972, and one and only
daughter, Sissy Hazel and including Cathy, Linda and Tom.
Robert was preceded in death by his father and mother, Edward and
Margaret Eaton; four brothers; five sisters; several nieces; nephews
and loved ones.
Robert is survived by his wife, Georgie, of the home; his four sons,
David and Robert, Lowry City, Billy, of the home and Randy,
Springfield; and one daughter, Hazel, Osceola.
Robert had many grandchildren and great grandchildren, lots of nieces
and nephews and many, many friends whom he loved all very much. He is
also survived by his brother, Joe, El Dorado Springs, brother,
Raymond, Nixa; sister, Mary Margaret Carson, El Dorado Springs,
sister, Betty Finley, Peculiar and sister, Kathryn Mickey,
Independence.
Robert was a retired brick mason.
Services for Robert were Tuesday, April 11, at the Sheldon-Goodrich
Chapel with Pastor Sam Masten and Reverend Harvey Woods officiating.
Musical selections were "Daddy's Hands", "Winner Either Way", "One
Savior" with Roger Powell and Nona Hahn, vocalist singing "Grandpa".
Casketbearers were David Eaton, Jr., Kevin Pipes, Randy Eaton, Jerry
Eaton, Clint Pipes and Gary Eaton. Honorary casketbearers were Matthew
Williams and Tommy Williams.
Interment was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Rockville, under the direction
of Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home.
