Is Killed In Hunting Mishap
Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m. in the Goodrich chapel for Jerold Barnes Garrison, who was shot fatally Dec. 1 while rabbit hunting at the James A. Reed Wildlife area east of Lee's Summit. His age at death was 32 years, five months and 17 days.
Officiating at the service was Rev. Phillip Mocha and burial was made in Bear Creek cemetery.
Jerold Garrison, son of Homer and Bessie Garrison, was born June 14, 1935, at Elkton, Ore. When he was six months of age Jerold and his parents returned to Missouri where he spent the rest of his life. He attended grade school at Dillon and was graduated from the Osceola High School in 1953. Since that time he had been in the Kansas City area. For the last three years his home was in Greenwood, Mo. He attended the Presbyterian Church of Greenwood.
On June 5, 1954, he was married to Patsy Ruth Carter. Four daughters, Ruth Ann, Melody Kay, Susan Alayne, and Patricia Lynne, were born to the couple.
Jerold worked at Associated Grocers as warehouse supervisor. He had been associated with the company for 13 years.
Besides his wife, his daughters, and his parents he is survived by two sisters: Mrs. Judith Miller, Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Janice Powell, Harrisonville, Mo.; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ethel Garrison, and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mollie Barnes, both of Osceola.
