Glen R. Kidwell, 86, Topeka, Kan., passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007 at Aldersgate Village. He was born May 3, 1921 in Coffey, the son of Orda and Hattie Holcom Kidwell. He was of the Methodist faith.
Glen married Virginia Margaret Bales on Sept. 17, 1944 in Ottawa, Kan., who preceded him in death on Nov. 28, 1983.
He resided in Overland Park, Kan. most of his life and was employed for 30 years by Katz Drug Store which became Skaggs Drug Store. He lived for a short period of time in Osceola, and resided for the past 20 years in Topeka, Kan.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara S. Darr and her husband, Kenny, Winchester, Va.; two brothers, Paul and his wife, Helen, Osceola and Harold and his wife, Phyllis, Waterloo, Iowa; two sisters, Ruby Hobbs, Osceola and Bertha Hermingson and her husband, Harold, Peoria, Ariz.; and his companion and friend, Rosemary Torrez, Topeka, Kan.
Memorial services were held Monday, Oct. 1, at the Garden House at Lake Shawnee, Topeka, Kan.
Private interment took place at Pennwell-Gabel Cemetery under the direction of Pennwell-Gabel Town Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the organization of the donor's choice.
