EDDIE S. HAMBLIN

Osceola Sun
3 October 1878
Hamblin – Another tender bud has been plucked by the silent messenger of Death – Eddie S., son of John R. and Martha J. Hamblin.
At five o’clock, Friday morning, September 27th, 1878, when only two years and ten months old, he was transplanted by angels’ hands to the paradise of God, to bloom amid the fadeless flowers of that celestial clime.
A cherub boy, too pure for earth,
Was lying, deeply racked with pain,
Though scarce two seasons since his birth,
A fever pressure seized his frame.
A hope, a fear, a sigh, a moan,
Filled every anxious breast.
But all his sufferings were unknown;
His age too tender for complaint.
The sun then shed its morning ray
With all the brightness of the day,
When Eddie breathed his life away,
And sank to his eternal rest.
