CHARLES EDWARD HALL, SR.

Charles Edward Hall, 76, long time resident of Fort Scott, died unexpectedly yesterday morning in the front yard of his home, 1007 S. Little, apparently of a heart attack. He had been in ill health one month.
Charles Edward Hall was born February 19, 1886 in Henry County, Mo., the son of Jonathan and Frances Husted Iman. When he was two years, after the death of his parents, he was adopted by Charles Wesley and Sarah Ingles Hall.
On November 19, 1920 he married Virgie Thompson in Norman, Okla. They came to Fort Scott and Bourbon County in 1924. Before retiring Mr. Hall had been employed by the Hill Lumber Co., Herrman Lumber Co., and for a time by the brick plant.
Survivors are the wife, Virgie, and a son, Harvey, of the home; nine other children, Mrs. Vernie McHenry, Rote 5, Mrs. Kenneth (Geneva) Blake, Route 1, and Edward Hall, 416 E. Eighth, all of Fort Scott; Charles E. Hall Jr., San Pablo, Calif. (by a previous marriage); Virgil J. Hall, Renton, Wash.; Lonis W. Hall of Arkansas; Mrs. Dale (Edna) Mealman, Wichita; Every D. Hall, Pittsburg; and James, stationed with the Navy at Pensacola, Fla.
A sister, Mrs. John Eich lives in Grand Island, Neb. There are 20 grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in Cheney Memorial Chapel, with interment in Evergreen Cemetery.
