Zella Viola Tuter was born January 10, 1910, in Purcell, Oklahoma, the daughter of Charles and Clouva (Fox) Ware. She passed away October 1, 1992, at Westwood Nursing Home at the age of 82. She was married to Henry Everett Tuter in 1928. To this union eight children were born. She was a member of the Northeast Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Wilson Tuter of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Bill Tuter of Deepwater; three daughters, Kathleen Shoemaker of Kansas City, Marie Campbell of Springfield, and Opal Myers of Deepwater; four sisters, Helen Long, Nola Tuter, Betty Long and Leona Henson, all of Springfield; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Everett; two sons, Earl Dee Tuter and Kenneth Olen Tuter, and one daughter, Kathryn Lee Tuter. Services were at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 1992, at the Consalus Chapel, Clinton. Brother Jim Hammock officiated. Pallbearers were Rick Tuter, Roger Tuter, Freddie Tuter, Bryan Courtney, Tom Courtney and John Myers. Burial was in Harris Bend Cemetery, St. Clair County.
