WILLARD DON HERD

Willard, 83, Collins, the son of Joe and Mae Herd, Isabella, Mo.
He was born Oct. 24, 1923, in Isabella and departed this life Dec. 23, 2006, at his home of 40 years in Collins, after a long illness.
Preceding Willard in death was his wife of 51 years, Lorene (Hackler); four sisters, Alaska Swearengin, Stella Trotter, Blanche Honeycutt and Norma Harms.
Willard is survived by his four children, Sherry, of the home, Louise DeHart, Weaubleau, Kevin and Dale Herd, both of Collins; six grandchildren, Shelly, Casey, Nathan, Rachael, Aaron and Sheila; four great grandchildren, Levi, Laine, Valory and Tyler; two sisters, Donna Hobbs, Kansas City, and Bonnie Johnson, Dixon; and one brother, Dallas Herd, Gainesville.
Funeral services were Thursday, Dec. 28, at Hathaway-Peterman Chapel with Elder Allen Kauffman officiating.
Interment was in the Holsapple-Freeman Cemetery, Collins, with military honors provided by the Galmey V.F.W. Post #9638, under the direction of Hathaway-Peterman Funeral Home, Wheatland.
