VIRGINIA L. BAKER

Virginia Lee Baker, was born Aug. 31, 1943, in Jamesport, the third of
six
children, to George Marvin and Eva Lauvaughn Davis Cox. She passed
away
Feb. 20, in Preston.
On Jan. 6, 1959, she was united in marriage to Glenn Lewis Baker and
to
this union six children were born.
Virginia was preceded in death by her father; two brothers, Gene Cox
and
Dan Cox; a son, Lewis Lee; and a grandson, Joshua.
She is survived by her close companion, Bernard Heard of the home; her
mother, Eva L. Ofield, Preston; her children, Calvin and Tina Baker,
Osceola, Ricky and Sarah Baker, Sedalia, Rex and Kay Baker, Commerce,
Ga.,
Gordon Baker, Osceola, Glenda Dean, Osceola; grandchildren; one great
grandchild; two sisters, Ruth Wear, Sheridan, Ark., and Dorothy
Shuman,
Haiti; one brother, Charles Cox, Wyoming; a host of relatives and
friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 24, at the Sheldon-Goodrich
Funeral Chapel, Osceola, with Greg Mangum officiating.
Music selections were "Just Beyond the Moon", "Lord, Build Me a Cabin"
and
"Even the Winds Whisper His Name".
Casketbearers were Calvin Baker, Kevin Wisner, Tony Scherk, Noble
Shelton,
Junior Mawhiney, Gordon Baker and Joe Crawford.
Burial was in the Crutsinger Cemetery under the direction of
Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home, Osceola.
